Our parents told us same. I will be telling my children the same thing in due time. Premarital sex is bad and if they decide to go ahead as do it, na them and God go settle. If not.......
Like I said, the only reason why I mentioned bible is because the OP brought religion into this.
haha-
jenny confess to me. you know i can keep your secrets. grin

deols: The easiest things are not always the best. How about if she test drives and they dont end up 2geda? she would have test driven, accumulating sins with many people.
what sins?
that's if she even sees it as that. like i have highlighted, fornication does not start and stop with sex. crushing on someone is lust and it's fornication. how many women who crush see it as committing a sin?

If the need to test drive arises, then the possibility of contacting STIs should also be in mind.
there are gold circle condoms!

Trusting in God and having fears for Him can be so rewarding, I tell you. Divorce is hard and should be the last resort. A deceptive man is not deserving of a good woman.
the world has moved way beyond trusting people's word of mouth. proper checks have to be done. 30 years ago, you are what the passport you are carrying says you are. these days you have to do biometrics, fingerprints, etc......i am very practical - marriage is a lifetime process. i refuse to remain stuck with a damaged good because i failed to do my due diligence.

I believe the Istikhara works wonders. People can rely on it smiley

deols: How else can a Christian woman make sure the commodity she is buying dey alright especially since we are taught that se.x before marriage is wrong.

*A man not alright down there, by Islamic principles is Not to seek a woman's hand in marriage.

*communication- I think she can ask questions that she deems fit. He is allowed to thoroughly have a good look at her and she's allowed same. But all forms of touching are disallowed.

*They cannot move near fornication. test driving is a no no.

*The couple is expected to have prayed and especially had Istikhara(prayer for counsel). With this, they can have faith, believing the best will happen.

*during Nikkahs, I have heard Imams asking the groom about the goodness . I assume it is a part of the Nikkah in most cases.

*zina(fornication, adultery) is one of the great sins in Islam. It can never be justified.

*Divorce is allowed on the basis of sexual gratification.
and if one of the partner or both deliberately withholds the information, what happens? still rely on islamic scriptures?

which is easier to do? to test run and be sure or go through a long tedious divorce? the way people throw the word "divorce" around makes me laugh - divorce costs money!

chaircover: I found it. Its called tough hymen and this is what I found on google . ...

Breaking of the hymen can be done by different measures like:
Doctor can dilate the vagina by inserting two lubricated gloved fingers and stretching. This can break the hymen.
By using vaginal dilators hymen can be breached.
In case of tough hymen, surgical methods like giving cruciate incision on hymen can be perforated. As it will be done under general anesthesia you will not have pain.

It can be done in any hospital where gynecologist and operation theater are available.

Ishilove: Coogar, honey, quit judging people by your rock bottom standards, okay? Just cos you remorselessly engage in pre-marital sex doesn't mean every one is doing it.
having sëx is rock bottom standards? you need to come out of your cocoon and stop deluding yourself. if you have a shot confidence, say so and let shrinks like osisi and co deal with your psycho-evaluation! i have premarital sëx cos i am super-confident and responsible enough to deal with it.

Honestly, y'all calling folks who are against fornication hypocrites make me shake my head. People who hold the word of God as a standard are labelled hypocrites because people just need to assuage their already dead conscience.
you got it wrong....
it's your types that induce projectile vomiting by thinking only intercourse constitutes fornication. you are as guilty as coogar because i can bet you have kissed a man and you have had crushes(lusts) for various men. so before you judge me, go and read what the holy scriptures say about fornication. it's not until you drop your g-strïng!

elampiro: My write up was not about Rooney or comparing players.

Lambert has scored 31 out of 31. He is currently all time best. He never missed for Southampton.

Matthew Le Tissier is all time best hitting 48 out of 49.

Mario Balotelli didnt score 22 penalties at City, I guess it is his all time record.
balotelli has scored 22 penalties out of the 22 he's had in his career. who cares how many lambert has scored at the saints. it's one thing scoring in a bottom side with little or no pressure. southampton were not in the premier league for aeons so far majority of lambert's pens were in a 2nd tier league(no pressure).

montelik: Funny, Rooney has one of the worst PK conversion rates in the EPL.
rooney is shyte!
an animal, he has the worst temperament in front of goal when there's nothing at stake. the luck he's got is the fact that all the pen he's missed for united later went on to be inconsequential. he misses them when united are leading but that does not give him the rights to miss them!

the best penalty taker in the history of the game is balotelli. 22 out of 22. he's never missed. yakubu also has about 41 in 43. those are the ones you can rely on not the overhyped and overrated piece of turd like rooney. i hope he falls of a skyscraper and do his cruciates forever!

jennykadry: Maybe I missed where people were being judgmental, please point it out to me. I used to have this friend in high school who started having sex at the age of 14. You know what she used to tell me back then?she used to say she knew it was bad, after the deed had been done she used to feel guilty, she said she knew it was wrong but just could not help herself. She also told us (cos we were like in a group) that in church on sundays and wednesdays prayer meeting she would feel so guilty cos she knew she had done soemthing she shouldn't have done.

No one here is calling those who have done it or not done it names, but the way you are going on about it, it's like you are justifying your action or trying to prove things to people when really there is no need for it. Some people have said it that even though they did it, they knew it's against whats written in the bible.

It does not hurt to say........Hey I did it cos I wanted to be sure but people I know it is not right.....No one is being hypocritical here but you just keep calling them names. Like honestly, I can feel the anger in your post and lawd hammercy on your keyboard.

Like I said , it would not kill any christian to say........Hey, I did it before marriage even though I knew it was wrong, I did it.....Don't justify actions that are completely against God and his words if your are christian. If you aren't fine, but if you are one please don't.

I read @admonition and @bellong's post and nowhere were they being insultive. The said things the way their religion has taught them. It does not mean they are sinless......they are no saints themselves and they are not claiming tthe title.
i still don't believe you, jenny!
why didn't you use this message before you got married. you remind me of my parents - don't do this, don't do that. they expect me to live the life of a 50 year-old in my teenage years. life does not work that way. let teens be teens and adults adults. when i have my kids, i would be saying exactly what you are saying now.......but for now, i am on a slaughtering spree! grin

jennykadry: Please people should not see my posts as being judgmental or hypocritical. This is not a who will go to hell thread and who wouldn't. We are all adults and are able to take responsibility for our actions, however, if we are to go the christian way, fornication before marriage is a sin.

The fact that all christians are hypocrites should not make you join them in the bandwagon. The fact that others are doing worse does not mean you should do same
jenny, the biblical definition of fornication cannot apply in the 21st century. 2000 years ago, it would take the sickest of minds to be perverted. women were covered from head to toe unlike now.....

according to the bible, lusting with the mind is fornication and it has the same gravity as sëxual intercöurse. going by that logic, who hasn't fornicated? when the bible was written, you see the panties before the bütt. in the 21st century, you see the bütt before the panties.

the ones living in council flats are qualified to do so. a visitor cannot get pregnant and get a council flat. that's just ignorance!

i don't have that statistics - but i support the move. until now, we have watched past nigerian governments ignore the plight of their citizens in diaspora. this is a very positive step. visa-bond my foot! did their ancestors pay any bond when they räped nigeria nakëd in the 18th century?

how many british citizens apart from nigerian nationals apply for nigerian visitors visa? nigeria is not a tourist destination so foreigners dont flock here for vacation.
Most foreigners in nigeria are working for multinationals and either have business visa or work permit.
If these bond is to work at all, we have to apply it to all forms of visa application.
about 120,000 british nationals visit nigeria every year.

how would they go about this change?
they need to go back to lagos to marry a brit. they must spend about 20 years to qualify for long stay application. they cannot work, they cannot school and they cannot even rent from housing agents. so what's the fuss?

plenty of brits go to nigeria on vacation to visit family and friends. the issue is not if british people have the money to drop for the bond. this move would make theresa may sit up and review her idiotic policy.

i really don't know how the woman still keeps her job. immigration has gotten worse under her. their real enemies are the EU countries flooding the UK to lap up the public funds. a nigerian on a visitor visa cannot claim a penny!

let british passport holders drop N5m bond too and they bond should be forfeited if they overstay their visas. if theresa may wants to act like a whöre then let's treat her like a whöre.

nigerians make up a huge percentage of the nurses or social care workers here. if they refuse to go to work just for one day, the british economy would collapse as the brits cannot even do what these honest nigerians do on a daily basis!

Admonition: Many IDs I respected so much in the family section seem to be arriving at same conclusion(Chaircover, greatgod, debrief08,Jidegirl, Damiso and host of others). @ OP, I understand your stance and because you failed in one area of your christian race and you were not able to hold on tenaciously to the chaste principles of marriage demanded and commanded by God because of lack of faith/or because you can not walk with God like Abraham, who does not know where He was going but moved by the act of faith. Trusting the eternal God than the carnal sense of Man, doesn't mean you should generalized or undermine practically what God condemns. I understand God has Forgiven you but don't use that cloak to excuse others into it. Many may not have that second chance to retract and that may damn their souls. As a Christian, don't let your own weakness or mistake push you to teach things that are not motivated or that are contrary to the word of God because everybody is doing it. There is a grace that saves and there is a faith in God that can gives all intending couples what they desires to get but not through sin. The Flesh will always give suggestions, the devil will always try to make you defile the bed, friends will always try to push you to doing it but these are temptations. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, admonish younger women to be chaste even if you fail in your own time. Rebuke, exhort and encourage women to hold on to faith. Counsel them that they can hold on. Marriage is honorable in all but bed undefiled but whoremonger and adulterer God shall judge. It doesn't matter whosoever has done that, the standard of God does not change. The foundation of God standeth sure. Stop helping others or yourselves to excuse themselves into sin. IF we truely believe God can save and can give us all what we need while do we then rely on self. The way of self is the way of damnation. May God help us all to stick to the truth of Gods word even when we have failed in the time past. Strive to enter in at the straight gate, for broad is the way that leads to destruction and many therein that gooes through that part. I respect you a lot. please change your stance and enocuage intending couples not to follow your path or mistakes you have made. Help them to know that when they sincerely and truely serve God and did not work by sight or by calculation, God will give the more than the package they have been longing for. It will be so satisfying.
you people just like to write rubbish. get out of here with your holier than thou attitude. what's sinful in 2 people on their road to marriage having premarital sex? your sermon would have been taking seriously except that born again christians actually have the highest divorce rate.
