MRbrownJAY: so let me get this straight: you sleep with her, eat with her, shiit around her (at least she can smell it), walk around her nekkid, mount her, probably put your mouth in all her intimate areaS, fart around her, burp around her....but then, if she ever takes a peep at your phone, you will call that action disrespectful?! pls care to tell me when/how this action could be considered disrespectful?
because i must have told her before we marry that my phone is my private ish....i don't touch hers, why should she touch mine? the issue of sleeping with her has no stand in this matter cos i am not interested in checking her phone....

so if i come to your house to have a very confidential discussion with you and i ask your wife to excuse us - she would find it disrespectful? of course not - she would leave us with it. if i then send a text or an email containing the same information to you, would you ke your wife read it?

i think you are secretive and you'd rather your stuff be private, and that is understandable, but to say that the act is direspectful is way out of line. now, if you tell her to NEVER TOUCH YOUR PHONE even if she has to call for an emergency, then its ok but you do know that it makes you kinda weird, not her.
it's nothing to do with weirdness - its about taking each other for what they are........ why should my wife know everything i do? hell, i don't even tell God everything.....

MRbrownJAY: the point is/was: would you find it disrespectful if he did?

whether that person hides it OR doesnt not want you to read it etc, it is the same thing.
as much as I understand that there would be a clear lack of trust (aka problem) if your partner wants to CHECK your phone every time you get a text, i doubt it can be considered disrespectful if they simply have a glance at it once in a while.
it is disrespectful either way for her to want to glance through my phone once in a while or everyday!

why are people hypocrites? what's the difference between telling your wife to excuse you and your mother for a private discussion AND hiding a text sent by your mother from your wife? the aim of both actions is you don't want her to know what's being said!!!!

Kobojunkie: Long before cell phones and passworded gadgets came into the picture, did people HIDE things from each other? If you are hiding something from the one you have chosen to spend your life with and 'bare your soul to', what is the meaning of the union again?
there was nothing to hide then - most information were verbal then or in written mode which one can easily shred after reading. these days, the info comes electronically which one can often forget to dispose or in a mode where the info can easily be seen by somebody other than the intended recipient! times are different now - phones must be passworded!

you can keep your cookies but at least get your facts right! someone posted the CCC(clear cut chance) stats some months back and it was clear chelsea create the least clear-cut chances in the top 10 clubs in england! van persie needed a whooping 11 attempts to get 3 goals and chelsea fans expect torres to score 3 goals from 2 chances - how convenient?

bendtner - 2 goals + 3 assists in 22 games

Stop lying Coogar, it's more than 15m.
it's not more than that.....

Of course you also have to consider the fact United have smashed Arsenal's record transfer fee like 15 times in that period alone.
transfer fees have nothing to do with wage bill. the selling club gets the transfer fees, the player get the wages! i reiterate, why is the difference between the wage bill of both clubs negligible and united have more quality in their squad than arsenal?

25-35m negligible?
its much lower than that - the united wage bill included winning bonus, etc....the difference is not up to 15 million! united have won 4 league titles, 1 champs league, 3 champs league finals and various domestic cups in the last 7 yrs. are you saying a miserable £15m is the difference between united's success and arsenal's drought? really?

RuuDie: Now, don't get it twisted. . .I still the dey vex for the a55hole with a passion; only DW19 matter tops my vexation as far as am concerned - but I just want you to see where some of this vitriol is coming from and I think this guy was able to highlight 'em relatively well!

I expected and still expect more than this from Nani. . .Don't get me wrong, he is fantastic player; I know he's got loads of skills, I've always thought he is a better footballing brain than CR7 - but why is it that I can't put my money on him delivering when it is crunch time!? Why doesn't he inspire any belief in me!!?

Thats why I would take a Walcott, Downing, Milner, Jarvis, Lennon, Young, Agbolahon, Pennant, Gervinho, Puncheon, Nzogbia - they are, at best, averagely equipped guys, no denying this. So the disapppointment isn't much if they cannot "perform miracles" - but from Nani, knowing his potential, I expect (demand) magic. . . and he is depriving me that just now. Another thing is time - how much more do we have to wait for him to deliver on the promise that his potential holds!? How much longer can the average fan who isn't head over heels in love with him wait!!?

He has delivered way below my expectations; probably for the better that he didn't get the #7 shirt, the increased weight of expectation might crank up the pressure a bit more and hurt rather than help him.

This is my pain, this is my annoyance!
hahahahahaha
i expected my son to score 360 in jamb but he ended up scoring 320.....i was expecting my daughter to score 200 in jamb and she scored 280! according to ruudie, my daughter is more brilliant than my son!!! in his logic, 280 is more than 320!

4llerbuntu: Coogar, acording to your links at best arsenal made a profit of 60 million BECAUSE OF INCOME FROM PLAYER SALES.

without selling those players how much would this profit be?

now if arsenal were to pay these players man city type wages, how many of them would be earning close to 10 million PA?

if for example we paid van persie 250, song 150, walcott 120, cazorla 120, koscielny 130, sagna 120, et etc etc etc do you know that the wages of the first eleven would be more than the present overall wage bill for 30 squad players and youth teams?

add the wages of the remaining players.

are you now suggesting that arsenal should borrow money annually to pay wages? at least you can see the difference in income with say manutd. there is no oil well to spend from.

where also will the money to buy players come from since we have spent the entire profits, and even borrowed money to pay wages, borrow more money? where will the money to repay the loans come from?

i know you are taking the piss sha.
why don't you show some wisdom when you type?
like the article said, arsenal wrongly renumerate their players. mediocre players get overpaid and the top quality players get underpaid and this is another evidence that wenger's man management is nothing to write home about! as it is, you have plenty of useless players who cannot be sold because no one is willing to pay the astronomical wages they are used to @ arsenal! djourou on £50k beggars belief - at best he should be on £15k and so are bendtner, gibbs, etc! if you free up funds at the bottom, then finds would be available to cater for the top players!

4llerbuntu: fact is, is even if the board and owners give up their profits and plough it into wages, arsenal still cannot pay players 250k p/w

the koko is the club needs to step up the revenue generation drastically. that is the crux of the problem. in the absence of a sugar daddy, that is the next step.
spurs and man utd have no sugar daddies and they are doing very well.

as for comparisons with clubs like tottenham, i hope you also realize those clubs are not repaying loans for their stadiums, dont have as much expenses as arsenal, do not have facilities as big and extensive as arsenal, do not have a setup as big as arsenal.
which idiotic loans are you talking about? is the repayment more than united's loan repayment for the glazer debt? how much is arsenal's debt now that it cant be frozen for now and invest on the pitch?

you keep citing gate takings, i guess you are unaware that a percentage of the gate takings go directly into the loans servicing? that stadium that you get the takings from will not get maintained?
I cited that because arsenal make the 2nd highest in the premier league - so there's no excuse for the fans to be fed with mediocre players. there's merchandise and mouth-licking tv deals to boot - where's all the money gone?

i don't get, do you think the only thing the club spends money on is kicking football? are you aware of the medical project arsenal built in the last 4 years? the training facilities? the youth setup? the coaching, the scouts etc etc etc?your club has just started renovating carrington btw. its not free
teaspoon out of the ocean!

arsenal has locked in commercial deals that are seriously cramping the club, but thats the price for the shiny new stadium and those gate takings you cite. even common shirt deals, the top 6 clubs in the prem earn more than arsenal from short deals
it seems you don't get the drift....
the difference between the wage bill of arsenal and man utd is negligible - yet, united can boast of top quality players like rooney, berbatov, young, valencia, vidic, rio, de gea, etc while arsenal could only boast of van persie!!!! so who's mopping up the player wage bill @ arsenal if not the army of mediocre players you overpay?

DailyNews: Everyone is here now counseling the op and blaming her believing all is well with their own marriage, relationship or date, nope! see, nemesis is real, karma is real, nature pays back every evil deed we do. most ladies now married were once jumping around town with aristo married me just to make money, wear flashy clothes, own flashy phones, go flashy places and wht have u. when they were students, they hardly stayed in their hostel, they were busy answering HOT CHICK, jumping from one city and top-rank hotel to another and enjoying the fun of spinsterhood, now they are married they now want men to be decent just because they are now married. you cannot eat you cake and have it, u can never win every battle of life; you win some and loose some, thats life. track back on your life when single, did you engage in indecency of such degree or any? this may be a pay back. for some good ladies who lived a good life and still get cheated by their hubby, you also need to look inwardly into your past life or that of your hubby before marriage. those men you as a single lady (not just the op, but to all ladies encountering similar thing), were they not somebody's husband? some girls will claim they never knew he was married, how would you not know when u have decided that the only men u want to go out with are men over 39, 40, etc just because of your selfish desire for money & material things, so u now want to believe that all men of that age bracket are single waiting for cindy like you, daydreamers, wake up! In summary, if you are a lady here reading this and shouting and thinking your own marriage or relationship is the best, then you are fooling yourself because you are just lucky that u haven't caught yours, pray u don't cos virtually 95% of financially able married men in Nigeria of today cheat on their wives, you know why? because the Nigerian girls from inception have taught Nigerian men to believe that money is equal to their love, no matter who you are. they have taught men to believe that so long as they have money, they can sleep with any girl of their choice in Nigeria with ease and thats what men grow up to believe even when they get married, they still want to exercise that freedom. Until Nigerian girls start to show less interest in men's money and material things and start to let men believe again that money cannot win them all girls they desire, this will become the order of the day, and more homes will be built on infidelity. So the re-orientation should start from the single ladies, change your ways now, don't think u can sleep around with men for money, job, favour, etc and then smartly walk your way into marriage and still enjoy a smooth home, never, expect a natural pay back, whether u turn to a sister-mother-mary born again plus or not, u must pay small...so start now to correct your mistakes so u don't end up in a deadly marriage, and deciding to stay single for life isn't the answer cos u will realize the demerits later in life. so ladies live a good life when u are single, stop being too desperate about money and fun, stop allowing peer-pressure to lure you into indecent lifestyle. stop following what friends are doing and be yourself cos when the nemesis comes, your friends may be no more!

Pataki: LOL. You are really shooting yourself in foot man!

1. You are the person who mentioned Arsenal is no 4 richest club in Europe. The article stated that Arsenal is no 5. My earlier argument had been that we cannot compete with the likes of ManCity, ManU and Chelsea in terms of ridiculous salary structures. You thereafter went ahead to cite that article, and I proved my point further with the same article cited. Now, in trying to prove your point, you refer to the likes Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sunderland. Pleaseeeeeee, all these clubs CONTINUALLY look at us higher up on the table even with some of the ridiculous salary payments that they have! They are a bunch of disgrace if they think paying ridiculous wages would ensure they rise to the quality and standard that Arsenal projects!
nah - arsenal are the disgrace for paying peanuts to the players who are superior to the players of newcastle, sunderland, liverpool, etc. of course, arsenal always finish above these teams but that's because of the managerial stability @ the emirates! this is wenger's 16th year @ arsenal - the club has always been a top 4 team in england so its not easy to knock them off that position by the minnows.

having said that, arsenal continue to drift further away from the league title than they were 7 years ago. remember the time there was no daylight between arsenal and man utd? when it was hard to choose between fergie and wenger? can you say the same today? so however you look at it, it's arsenal regressing more than the likes of man utd and chelsea progressing! look at the wage bill of arsenal and man utd for example - the difference is peanuts and yet, united continue to win titles whilst arsenal have not won a penny since 2005!

2. Abou Diaby is a fringe player? Shows the value of the article you are even citing!!!
when has diaby ever been a first team player? as @ the time this article was written, wilshere and song were the first choice!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by coogar: 6:20pm On Sep 04, 2012
Pataki: Thanks for the weblink, you just shot yourself in the foot with that link you displayed. Taking quotes from the article, would do further justice to my point of view. Here goes:
you are the one shooting yourself in the foot! all the clubs mentioned in that excerpt you cut out are all richer than arsenal so we can't raise eyebrows that madrid, barcelona or man utd spend more than arsenal - but in a situation where tottenham, liverpool, newcastle and sunderland, etc all have a higher nett spend than arsenal is a disgrace!!!

I further maintain my point, we do not have the financial capacity to compete with the ridiculous salary wages of some of these clubs. According to sources, Cazorla is the only Arsenal player on a £120,000 weekly salary pay. And that is the highest Arsenal can go for. tongue
how can that be the highest arsenal can go? do you really believe in this? don't be surprised when arsenal declare another profit of £60m in their yearly statement of account after lying to the fans during the transfer window that there's no money in the bank! look at arsenal's rank on the table and compare it to the quality of players they tend to attract - its a total mismatch! as the article said, arsenal don't have a revenue problem but some blood sucking executives at the board would rather pocket the income than invest on world class players!

swiss rambler said:
There are clearly issues with Arsenal’s equitable wage structure, which means that the best players like Robin Van Persie are not particularly well remunerated (by modern standards), while fringe players like Abou Diaby, Marouane Chamakh and Manuel Almunia are handsomely rewarded for their efforts. This was epitomised recently by Johan Djourou’s new £50,000 a week contract, which seemed more in recognition of his frequent interviews with Arsenal.com than his defensive ability.

Not only does this policy reduce the money available to attract world-class players, but it also makes it difficult to move on under-performers, hence loans for Bendtner and Denilson. While there is some logic in giving youngsters good contracts, as it prevents other clubs from snapping them up for free, it is questionable whether this has worked out for Arsenal, given the relatively small number of success stories. My hope would be that one of Arsenal’s smart executives is conducting a review of whether this approach is the most appropriate in 2012.

Pataki: Interesting to see how this discussion has gone thus far.
@ coogar,
You are obviously seeing the obvious, but obviously ignoring the fact. Arsenal DOES NOT have the financial strength on a long term basis to keep players on the ridiculous salary structures that ManU, ManCity, Chelsea pay some of their overrated players. This is the main trigger to which these players leave for other clubs. It has nothing to do with your so-called wack Wenger's man-management. If you choose not to accept that fact, fine.
officer pataki, don't let wenger pull the wool over your eyes that arsenal don't have the financial clout to pay world class wages....kindly peruse this piece below and see where arsenal rank in europe in terms of revenue/income....

Pataki: I think it is rather unfair to lay all the fault at the feet of Wenger when quality players decide to leave Arsenal. Each of the quality players that has ever left Arsenal truly indeed has a story behind their departure. Many of which lies in the strict budget structure that Arsenal operates with. E.g: Song, RVP, Nasri, e.t.c. Take a good look at most of the players who leave Arsenal, 80% of them immediately get salary increase astronomically high from that which Arsenal pays them.
did wenger do enough to keep these players? that's the key! of course some players would want a different challenge elsewhere and this is where excellent man management comes into play! i am not convinced wenger did anything to prevent his players from leaving!

Furthermore, players come, players go. An example: Cristiano Ronaldo once played for ManU, he left for Real Madrid. Today he is complaining that he is not happy at Real Madrid. Should we put the blame at the feet of Mourinho if a quality player as him should leave? When Chelsea and ManCity are already thinking how much they can grab him for? grin
ronaldo had a valid excuse for leaving man utd - he had won every available title in the premier league and he wanted a different challenge. he has also won every available title in madrid bar the champions league so if he decides to leave now, one can understand!

Rooney was once an unhappy chap in ManU. I doubt if he is still happy right now in ManU. tongue The list goes on and on.....but the point is that, give it to Wenger - in that when players leave, they hardly go about bad-mouthing him. Even when the likes of coogar acclaim that he is wack at man-management. grin
unhappy rooney became happy after fergie stepped in and applied his man management skills, united went on to win the league that season and played in the final of the champions league! if that was wenger, he would have sold rooney! count the number of captains wenger has sold since vieira and you would understand there's something mentally wrong with arsene!
