boredom....people crave for what they don't have....and
get bored of what they have acquired. eating the same brand

Portugal are set up to counter attack and they have the weapon to execute it. We can see how deadly those counters were everytime they have deployed it.
Even in the Madrid vs Barca ties, Ronaldo is used to play with less of the ball and a Ronaldo vs Arbeloa duel should be interesting
the more reason spain would reign supreme over them....spain have 2
defensive midfielders to mask the absence of puyol in the defence...

ritchboy: Abeg, Carrick wouldn't have done anything in a two-man midfield with Parker when the Italians have one or two spare men. Exhibit A: See how Song-Arteta-Rosicky pissed all over Modric-Parker last season. Exhibit B: 2011 UCL Final Carrick-Giggs.
the carrick-giggs axis is faulty....giggs is not a natural central midfielder and against barcelona?
which midfield haven't barcelona sodomized in the last 3 years? even if you play 5 there, you cannot
stop them.

carrick would have done a lot. he's the master of putting good ball on the flanks to isolate a winger
with a marker. england had genuine pace in ashley young and theo walcott(when he came on) but they didn't
utilize them.

look at how carrick quickly finds valencia + nani + young at man utd. people still blame him for that though
that his passes are always sideways or diagonal but that's where united's creativity lies. against italy,
carrick woulda found walcott with diagonal passes that would enable the arsenal winger run at his marker.

Unfortunately for England, their two best CMs(Scholes/Wilshere) are retired/injured. What was Hodgson thinking playing that formation?
scholes could have been cajoled out of retirement by hogdson! then you have cleverley,
leon britton, etc who are masters of possession football(one touch) but hodgson went
with henderson, parker and james milner.

dayokanu: Portugals defence is better than Spains. Pepe and Coentrao are one of the best in their positions and Bruno Alves isnt ad either.
alba is better than coentrao and pepe = pique.
spain still have sergio ramos, the only dud there is
arbeola!

Center forward? Spain too has no Center forward.
they have torres/llorente if there's need to use a striker.
portugal won't have the ball. that's the key factor. you need
the ball to score against spain.

spain's possession stats have been 68.2% in this tournament,
65.2% at the world cup and 56.6% at euro 2008. as you can see,
portugal would chase and chase and chase until spain apply the
killer punch!

omosexy1: Some peeps would probably wonder why I decide to dissect the poster's information. Well, I have noticed that over time some stories being posted are made-up (false) stories, either to get the sympathy of fellow nairalanders or to put the male folks in bad light. I recently read a story about a man who got his 20 years old housemaid pregnant and blamed it on his banker's wife for lack of attention. Part of the story was that there is a policy in the wife's bank for ladies not to be pregnant for the first 11 months so that they can be confirmed. I can confidently state that there is no policy as such in the banking industry. I don't know why these posters make up these stories and what their objectives are.
90% of the stories here are all made-up, inspired by nollywood/african magic overdose.
you also have to understand some people are attention-seekers that would do anything
to denigrate their men to score cheap brownie points. let's just pretend and treat each
case like it's real. what have you got to lose? wink

Spain vs Portugal would be much different

Portugal has a better defence than France and better offence. Before the quarters France have been very average, looked clueless vs England vs Sweden before Spain put them out of their misery.

Portugal normally is set up for Counter attacking and it comes Naturally to them

Their last meeting
portugal have no defence and their offence have no centre forward....

If she took your advice it wont solve her problem... she will be here with another post about how her husband gives her nothing and she regrets quitting her job.
she should change that marketing job of hers. married women are not
supposed to be doing it. it's almost prostitution in my opinion.

if my wife has to chase up clients at ungodly hours to bring something home, then
i'd rather she sells tom-tom, kolanut and boiled eggs under a cosy shed in my compound. grin

davidylan: I believe hourly pay is for low-income folks. High paying jobs here in the US are usually fixed salaries so i dont see a problem with fixed salary jobs in Naija. I recently turned down a very nice job because they were going to pay me by the hour... insult of the highest order. grin
i like hourly pay jobs...i don't know how it works in the states but those
contract jobs in infotech here are tagged per hour or per day. the pay is
normally quite handsome.

another job like lesson teacher or the city post office should be okay for her. raising

find another job.
if your hubby is not happy or cannot trust you because of the nature of
your job then you should find another one. personally, i cannot marry a
banker or a marketer.....not all men are comfortable with their wives
travelling at 11pm in the night. it's grossly irresponsible for any married
woman to be putting her life at such risks. a married woman should be at home
tucking the children to bed and reading them bedtime stories.

I seriously doubt he'd have made much difference to this side. They might have done better if they had managed to persuade Arteta to take up English nationality grin
carrick is a passing maestro....he woulda done better than
gerrard and parker. his diagonal passes are what england

chic2pimp: Missing Link for England tonight, MICHAEL CARRICK

Looking at Xavi's dominating performance last night,Pirlo's tonight and Bastian to some extent vs Greece, it was fairly obvious to the Naked Eye what the Missing Link was
this was exactly what i was harping about when hodgson made that selection.
you need a midfielder who can spread it to the flanks. that's what carrick
does best. he knows he's limited running with the ball, bursting through like
gerrard or parker......but carrick spreads the ball to the flanks immediately
releasing valencia or young to run at their markers.....

even when walcott came on, gerrard/parker did not utilize his pace.....they
only passed to him when he was crowded out by italian defenders. yes, gerrard
and parker were good value when it comes to defending but central midfielders
need more ammo in their arsenal than just blocking/defending....they should be
threading through passes to the attacking players as well. 1 shot on target in
120 mins is a massive disgrace.

AjanleKoko: Na wa oh.
The English press have taken to wanking all over Pirlo. Not surprising that they have never seen that type of penalty before.
Guilherme Siquera of Granada played exactly the same type of panaka against Barca's Victor Valdes in March. If he did that in England, Man City and Chelsea would have been battling for his signature, at 40 million pounds. However, he plays in Spain (and is still stuck in Granada embarassed) unfortunately.
oh please.....they are not wanking all over pirlo for the penalty
they are awed by pirlo's contribution in the match for 120 mins.
who hasn't seen a paneka before in england? did zidane not use
it against buffon in 2006 world cup final?

They should tell Ronaldo that a win would guarantee him WPOTY.

i'd be surprised if ronaldo and nani touch the ball more than 12 times when they meet.

nemesis caught up with hodgson...you cannot go into a

no creativity at all. 2 useless central midfielders...

gerrard n parker were only good defending, they offered
nothing in the attack. you have 2 out n out wingers and
you cannot play passes from the midfield to isolate the
wingers with a full-back.

ayusco: @coogar xavi is a living legend no doubt but as being much better IMO that's neither here nor there. I'll rather say both their styles differ but great in their own individual ways. Xavi is a pass master while zidane's pure skill n genius ala maradona made up for his weaker(note I'm not saying it was not good) passing ability. If u insist on your stance would u say xavi is better than maradona himself in pure midfield terms?
zidane was murdered many many times in a midfield battle....i am yet to
see a midfield battle xavi has not dominated. the opposing team might
go on and win a la chelsea but the win wouldn't be as a result of xavi
getting dominated.

maradona is the greatest footballer in the history of the game as he
single-handedly won a world cup for his country. no one can touch el
diego who was more of a supporting striker than a midfield general.
the number of touches xavi makes in any football match is ridiculous.
he's always involved!

If you came to see your wife and she ignored you outside her office for 30 mins to attend to another man you would merely shrug it off?

No matter your job, your spouse's needs MUST always come first.

how easy it is for any individual to feel comfortable cheating for 30 mins knowing the

it's either the op exaggerated the waiting time or the
