davidylan: funny people. Instead of you all to get a life you are busy here arguing with each other?doctor david, you were 10 secs close to contesting in this debate. don't pretend now by standing aloof. besides, just heard now the gej is monitoring the thread and the winner gets a mouth-watering job in the presidency! ![]() |
Jambsupport: azzept correctn mufunot when simpletons like you dolts are doing the correction..... you homoerotic illiterate! |
you guys should just let it go......apparently, the lack of communication didn't help but then what happened shouldn't have degenerated to this. I implore the warring parties to frenchkiss and make up. i think subsequent debates should be one v one......the whole team vs team debate seems tedious, haphazard and spineless! |
BigBenoski: not just ignorance, you are also practised at chasing the wind, as vividly depicted in your incidental rants. Grow up, changeling and don't throw up a critique next time. ..its called a DEBATE. Just an advice but ofcourse you don't have to take it.if i managed to harness the power of all the world's telescopes to create a super telescope with the power to see billions of miles into space, i still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in what a miscreant like yourself would have to say. why don't you just admit that your intelligence threshold falls short to grasp the modern techniques in the art of debating? |
nateevs: Diego Costa is Brazilian, who if I recall, has never played for Brazil, perhaps does not have a European passport and as such, will not get a work permit in England.90% of them own a portugese passport! |
BigBenoski: hehehehehe.. This has nothing to do with acknowledgements. Would you please remove your 'pride glasses' for a minute and go through ur supposed debate again. At a point i thought it was a critique. But not to worry bros..i'l just 'jog along', keep swimming in a deluge of ignorance. Over and out!the irony..... with your below average intelligence and appalling penmanship, you dare stand there like a mannequin to say i am ignorant? you need to be lobotomised asap! |
Ibime: Don't wanna hear nothing about the one-dimensional Lewandowski abeg. . .ibime still stupidly thinks lampard keeps the ball better than modric. even after modric displayed one of the most outstanding midfield performances against spain, lord ibime still doesn't get it that there's a wide gulf between the 2 players . ibime, are you so daft to see the number of passes both players made last season and their pass completion stats? |
BigBenoski: if i were in that panel bro, u'd end up with a 2 from me. You just went on a long ramble. U write well but u lack the basics of great debating sir.of course.....I lack the nonsense basics of acknowledging co-debaters, time keeper and the panel of judges like people used to do in the 70s. when was the last time you saw a proper debate of international standard? if you compare what you think is the normal standard to the way it's done in saner climes, then you'd be embarrassed! i have given you your 3 mins of fame now, kindly jog along......nicely! |
Breezy047 - You had a good debate, though i couldn't seperate your points from your case study. You cited some personalities in your case study and am sure that was to give it a voice. For me, you went more into the event more than the subject and that could be a minus. You did really great all together. Bravo! Newacca - The body of your debate got me rooting. You broke the defination of the subject into the content. Your points were beautifully highlighted, the case study was simple and incisive. I enjoyed reading! Welldone. Chucky234 - Your points was intertwined with the content. I couldn't identify it. The body of your debate was on a good lane but it was moving really fast; you ran it down. I indeed enjoyed reading! Coogar - Your intro was superb! If only on that, you just won. I think your content was more of an article than a debate. I like the penetration of the your vocabs. Kudos! Shymmex - 3 things won me over. 1) Your reference 2) Your depth of research and 3) Your style of writting. I wasn't ok with the end of the body of your debate, it was like you dropped us in the middle of no-where but in all thumbs up! Cheddarking - Towards the beginning of your debate, you brought your point home to what we all can understand, i so like that. The points was there but wasn't seperated. At a point i though you were following a story line but when i saw your reference, it balanced the body and with your picture, you killed it! I call that swag. Good job! Please note that this' NOT the judges' score-card. It's my PERSONAL view and it's refined from sentiment or bias. It's just my way of adding the fun and if you think am wrong, my sincere apologies!
cheiiiiii - see analysis..... |
ayox2003: My assessment belowhmmm Agreed. But you opposed it with the quote below.it's not contradictory for goodness sake. the godfathers are doing all what is possible to keep the rest of the populace in poverty. this is because poverty itself is a weapon that can be used in permanently subjugating the people. the problem of ethnicity and religion in my view are artificial constructs used by the ruling bourgeois to divide the people so that their personal agenda can be realised! ^ A point for those who are against. God-fatherism should replace self orchestrated there.you completely miss the point! that people are even willing to serve these godfathers is because they are poverty-stricken so they trade their ethics and moral values for swollen tummies! it's all designed by the godfathers! Hence, the Judge gave you 5. You did little in proving your point, honestly.judge gave 5 cos he/she lacks the cognitive reasoning to cope with a long missive as such as that. he/she probably got bored along the way and just awarded what he deemed fit! |
OAM4J:still wondering how a judge scored me 5!!! 5? is the judge greek or cantonese? breezy is 4th not 5th! |
shymmex: Can we post our rebuttals now?don't jump the gun----the date of the grand finale is yet to be fixed! |
Toaskarity: Its so stupid that anyone will think that godfather is our problem talkmore of debating it!get some perspective, hombre! you are not looking at this from a vantage point. there's no big deal having godfathers to back any candidate to win. the support has to come from somewhere anyways - but when these godfathers resort to maiming, bribing and going to any length to put their candidate on the seat then their ideology must be questioned! of course, there are godfathers in 1st world nations and a lot of politics tend to go behind the curtains but they don't take it to the obscene level like we do in nigeria. their battle ends in their speech, lectures and campaigns. |
OAM4J: We took also into consideration, those arguing for and against.so tonight is the final? |
can the judges kindly explain what they graded? seeing 5 - 8 - 6 is a tad confusing. oam4j, over to you! |
Cuddlemii: SCORESwhoever graded this must be high from smoking pubes! 3rd? ![]() |
breezy047: Shimmex head belongs to me bruv. . .you can have shymmex then. I want sagamite and debosky regardless of which side they decide to pitch their tents!
You sure can. [s]Shymmex debated like a typical Nigerian high school student anyway. [/s] His head is all yours.
hahaha - shymmex raised good points which I am dying to put apart! |
Nigerians will always be Nigerians. Time mismanagement and abrupt cancellation/postponement (all in the first round). Get em'. Kill them all!! (whenever they're ready to be killed )https://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m73gvnpXsO1r9eu9m.gif
fucking hell, i love your shotgun! can you lend it so I can have shymmex's head for dinner? 12 cartridges and that firearm - thank you! |
shymmex: Fvck it, can we switch arguments in the next round?i like your confidence - you sound like you fear no one--it's understandable but read my lips, bitch: i am a cannibal! |
OAM4J: To All.thank you very much! |
Roland17: This dabate is meant for the ardent audience who are religiously following proceddings, i would say we continue, the motive of this debate is to enlighten our minds on the various ailents bedeviling our dear country and not to decorate a winner...and so far its been interesting...if we truly love our country, we must continue!!!!shikenaabsolutely! the rules were written in black n white for eons....if it didn't suit any of the contestants, they should have opted out before 6pm today. now the mods want it postponed because some "godfathers" aren't ready. how fair is that? in my own opinion, I think jaybee's bank account should be checked.....Sagamite must have transferred a lump sum to him! |
if the mods postpone this ish, then the godfatherism being discussed has spread like a virus to this forum then. postpone what? because sagamite is a mod? his opinion counts more than the other willing contestants? jaybee, I am utterly disappointed. count me out if you guys ever gather the cojones to arrange another debate! |
Sagamite: You are a MOD and you can see hidden posts so you can see the simple questions I asked. Why did she not just answer?sagamite, you got to stick to the rules. the contestants don't make the rules, the organisers do! it wasn't convenient for me as well. i am actually @ one owambe party as we speak monitoring this ish! this is just for fun to sharpen verbal skills. no one is getting paid! |
. |
i love big meals - can i have debosky and sagamite to complete a double whopper meal? |
Good Evening, Ladies and Gents. . . . . The wise is more of a sedative thinker who condenses facts, using intelligence, maturity, and experience to deal with all issues. The realist is a man who evaluates from empirical data, using logic and facts as his indices of rationalization to deduce a problem and eventually arriving at a solution. The optimist is one that hopes for good in the face of adversity even when the pointers tell a dark story and the foolish is of an imprudent mind, often weighed down by dogma and thoughtlessness even when confronted with facts to act in a manner contrary to reason. I have deliberately defined this collection as part of a universal set of peoples, in which I am sure we all fall into partially or wholly at various times of our life cycle. It is not to cast particular aspersion on the integrity of any person but to lay some foundation for the fluctuation of man’s sociological and behavioral patterns when disposed to matters of critical thinking. This in a sense influences our mannerisms and modus operandi to levels verging on matters of sanity, truth, action etc or lack of them as universally accepted norms. In this instance, the corruption in Nigeria driven by political Godfathers is the case study. It is obtuse to even think the political Godfathers in Nigeria are not responsible for the sheer penury we find ourselves today. Though Nigeria is not yet at this brim, she walks ominously to a path of near hopelessness. We (her citizens) are sunk in denial and disbelief at what have struck us. I’d ask all members of the board to recess their memory to just 30 years ago and ask where Nigeria’s place was then and where is it now in the comity of nations The nuances of decay are most revealing. Though we’re mystified by the calamitous situation we find ourselves, to our shame we still dance like masquerades to the Godfathers’ lures of deceit. This is sad. A country that suffers and smiles, weep in the morning and laughs at night without any significant change to their lives is an epitome of insanity. To this, I shed a tear. I tell a lie if I say I am not affected by the abuse, degeneration, despair, debasement, and dehumanizing conditions Nigeria has put us all. If we do not recognize this, I’m afraid we cannot appreciate our position of retrogression. And if we do not appreciate our present state, we cannot define a path to a glorious future. Introspection is preemption to hindsight. For those in the other divide that feel differently to this notion, I salute their sagacity. As a honourable member of Nigeria’s intelligentsia, I assume these strategies are already in place. But what can be the efficacy of prayers when it is done in deceit? What tickles my anger though is the hint of hypocritical euphemism that underscores such rhetoric. The philosophy of life dictates that principles are permanent but forms may differ. In Nigeria, the converse is the case. How do we change a political class of Godfathers that have little or no form of ethical decorum or morals? Nigeria's problem is most evident for the blind to see. Corruption is everywhere and the truth is that Nigeria is defying all rational theories or known history. The moral bankruptcy of the ruling class goes unchecked because the system allows it. It baffles me to hear that we still ask ourselves how to change such cancer that pervades all levels of the socio-political fabric as if we do not know the causes are self-orchestrated. Even so, it is a criminal presumption to contend that we have been doing all that can be done over the years. Nigerians do not suffer from a barren history - only a corrupt one. We also ravel in a state of sycophantic stupor to cheer these Godfathers whom we all know are the causes of our problems. Praise singing is part of our innate culture. Self-aggrandizement is also second nature. The Pastors, Imams, Obis, Obas, and Emirs parade themselves criss-crossing the country to endorse politicians and juntas in a bid to wet their palms. The travesty of political prostitution knows no bounds. Even then, they claim to be our leaders and the custodians of our fate. These men are not any more pregnant with ideas than you or I. In fact they are less intelligent and if I can add, men of little reckoning to me, given their precedents. Our contributions must lie in the sincerity of our purpose and our resolve to carry out systematic change. I want to make it clear that It is not pessimism that fuels my writing, rather it is the strength of love that I have for my country. The venom I spit is to awaken other comrades who appear to be insular to the tirade of calls for constructive non-sentimental change in Nigeria. It is our right not a privilege to demand nothing but good governance for the sweat of our labour and the dignity humanity reposes on us. It is the doom of humanity that all animate things would eventually become inanimate. Whether we like it or not, death is an inevitable end for us all. Therefore, pretension to the spate of affairs and the onus it serves to every citizen must not be diluted or waved aside. We must be as critical if we want to get to the promised land. In an emporium of mischief makers, there would be serial liars, cheats, fawners, betrayers and evil men. The incubation period for good over evil is undefined but if we can ask the critical question with the same passion that stimulates our anger, then; may be then, we would filter out the right solution without fear or sentiments. As such, we need to gravitate our minds to see how best we can tackle the corrupt political class and their cohorts. If we do, then by default, constitutional corruption will abate. When we talk about cleansing a society of hoodlums, it does not equate to the total eradication of social menaces but the attempt at an improved but defined social order. Obviously, as long as there is man, there would be vices. However, a scum can not secrete purity; in other words, a corrupt system(like the political class we have in Nigeria) cannot make laws or uphold same over its subjects or itself. We need to act decisively to obliterate the present class to historical oblivion and start a new political journey comprising of new sets of peoples whose antecedents should have been proven. Accountability and transparency not favouritism and Godfatherism should be the guiding benchmarks. |
RuuDie: Please, please, please. . . just tell me DW is not included in the bolded ~ else we go fight so'tey River Naija go part!bebe has scored each time i have seen him play for united. he deserves his chance. the loan didn't go well at turkey because of his season-long injury but I really hope he gets loaned out to a mid-table team to perfect his art in the league! |
Take your mind off it, RvP isnt coming to united.
we should be looking elsewhere....we have super duper talented strikers upfront. our problems last season were not in the attack, it was the midfield and the defence. fergie should buy a specialist central midfielder - in the mould of hargreaves. van persie will not add anything to united's attack. |
Cuddlemii: This is the structure/format of the debate. Please read and get familiar with it. Thanks!fucking hell, 20 mins to put together rebuttals....and you expect us to print 1000 words per post? come.......english is my 10th language, biko. besides, the traffic your thread would generate might crash the forum. i don't wanna see "300 members have replied since you last posted". this could have been done on different days. today for the first round, tomorrow - 2nd round and final round on monday. |
Odunnu: Thats the fun part, honey!the 2nd n 3rd parts are the easiest for me.......go on "fight" mode...be as ornery and as witty as possible and pull the adversary's points apart. odunnu, calm down...we are putting up a show, you would get the eyegasms you so much crave. ![]() |
