chic2pimp: Dude I watched it on T.v whilst also listening to the commentary on Radio(T.v volume turned down) and I along with the Radio dude knew Young dived as soon as he went down. It was as clear as daylight. It's not that the pace makes it difficult for players to stay on their feet, must of them simply choose not to. They've perfected the act of conning refs.

Even Fergie has admitted Young exaggerated the fall. Eventhough he fell short of admitting he dived(but which Manager has ever admitted his players dived?)

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CC8QFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mirrorfootball.co.uk%2Fnews%2FManchester-United-Alex-Ferguson-admitted-Ashley-Young-went-looking-for-the-penalty-article891155.html&ei=z0KMT87PLsqw0AXR3rnKCQ&usg=AFQjCNETOje81bOriKxMeSE0fmov6xhdXg&sig2=UNqCD0ZSU1OQktcJ8wryKg

As I said before the contact was minimal to say the least and in no way did it impede Young. He chose to cheat.
Ofcourse He would not have given the decision if it was not a dive. After all Refs never give that kind of decisions, right?
the use of english is your biggest problem then.
diving = no contact at all.
exaggerating a fall = there was contact, but not enough to send him sprawling.

fergie said there was contact and young made the most of it.
the question persists - had young carried on even though there was contact - would the ref had given the penalty?
how many penalties have been given to strikers who don't hit the deck when tackled?

whether contact was minimal or maximal is irrelevant. any contact at all is a foul.
the degree of impact opens up a vast debate. everyone's pain threshold differ from person to person.
in normal play, i can understand why young tripped and if you see the defender's knee - he stuck it out and withdrew it a tad too late.

rastamouse: Why will anyone drink alcohol, except for medicals reason?
it's medicinal! red wine is medicinal.
in countries with maritime climate, some pastors take cigarettes for warmth!
Jesus turned water into wine for many reasons including; Obedience to his mothers request and secondly keeping the party going.
so you are saying Jesus colluded with sinners to keep the party going? really?
okija-juju - stop this blasphemy.

everything we do as humans have a limit. if you go beyond the limit, then there's a problem
alcohol if taken with moderation is fine. same as cigarette, same as eating.
Christianity Etc › Re: Nothing Wrong With Alcohol, Cigarette – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome? <<Rumor?>> by coogar: 3:35pm On Apr 16, 2012
Emmysteve: The founder and senior pastor of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome on Sunday told all who cared to listen that since the Bible does not expressly condemn both Cigarette and Alcohol, then there is nothing wrong with these stuffs.

It all started when a viewer of his television programme wrote in to enquire from the popular pastor if it was wrong for a 'Christian to work in a Cigarette company'.

Below is the response from Pastor Chris:
There is nothing wrong with Cigarette, the Bible doesn’t say anything was wrong with it... I know a lot of people do complain about it because of the relationship attached to it with some sicknesses like cancer...but if they really believe it is wrong why not ban it totally.

It is the same thing when you have Christians working in the Breweries. The Bible doesn’t condemn alcohol. The only reference made to alcohol in the Bible is ‘do not take too much of wine’. So you see these things has to do with the individual state...if they are convince something is not good they should just ban it..."

What do you think about the Pastor’s position? Share your thoughts.
the pastor is very correct. taking alcohol is not a sin. Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine.
wine is alcoholic. if wine is posion, Christ wouldn't turn water into wine.
there was no mention of cigarettes in the bible so i cannot comment on that.
the key is moderation. if food is not taken with moderation then it leads to gluttony - which is also a sin.

debosky: Are you dyslexic? I said they don't ALWAYS go back to revisit the incident - that lies within the discretion of the ref. He didn't feel the need to revisit it because the foul (denying the goal scoring opportunity) was ineffective as the goal was scored.
then atkinson is a disgrace. how he gets to manage these high profile games is a mystery.

This would only make sense if ALL offences committed in which the ref allows play to continue get retrospectively punished. We both know that is not the case.
even if it's not the case - bringing down a player in the box shouldn't have been missed.
martin atkinson and chelsea have a long history - he would do everything to let chelsea win.

If Twatkinson gave that phantom goal after complaints, I don't blame Bale for playing on and scoring - Twatkinson might've had another brain fart and book Ade for diving instead of sending Cech off. The ref clearly had a Chelski agenda so Spurs needed to take matters into their own hands.
mata's celebration convinced atkinson. mata was celebrating before tottenham fans complained and the ref acted on mata's celebration.

mbulela: Any one who denies the fact that Ashley Young dived is merely joking.
Look at the way he was stretching his leg to make sure he made contact with the defender.
The painful thing is that when he is truly hacked, the ref will not give him a benefit of doubt.
young did not dive, there was contact. . . .you can argue he exaggerated the foul(debatable too) but to say he dived
is untrue. the defender stuck his foot out and he was too late to withdraw it.

debosky: You cannot revisit it because the goal scoring opportunity was not ultimately denied - the goal was scored. It's simply a case of allowing advantage, and if an advantage is obtained, the ref doesn't necessarily need to revisit the previous incident.
you're a tool for typing this dross!
how many times have referees gone back to book a player retrospectively after waving play on? they point to the incident and wave play on then go back to book
the offender when the ball is out of touch. adebayor had been denied a goal scoring opportunity. whether bale scored from the follow-up was irrelevant. a foul had been committed before the goal. cech should have seen red.

Against Wolves, Rambo was fouled as he was about to take a shot. He got up and took his shot and the ref never pulled things back for the initial foul.
rambo got up and took the shot again. no advantage was lost!
adebayor was fouled, he never got up, someone else scored.
apples n oranges!

That a ref made a daft decision once doesn't make it right. You wouldn't advocate giving goals when the ball didn't cross the line because Twatkinson did would you?
yes he did make a daft decision cos when collina was asked. . . .he said the referee should have allowed the goal to stand and still send off lehmann for denying etoo a goal scoring opportunity.

Besides, there is a difference - in the case of Lehmann, the ref had blown his whistle before the ball was put in the net. It's like a team wanting to play advantage but the ref blows. Technically the ref is correct, although the game would've benefited from playing the advantage. In this case, Twatkinson made the right decision.
he did not.
tottenham did not complain - very naive team. i trust man utd players.
rooney wouldn't have let that slip. adebayor bearing on goal, in control of the ball and was brought down by cech.
it's a red card!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by coogar: 12:39pm On Apr 16, 2012
dayokanu: In that situation I blame Bale. He should have stopped play and forced the ref to take the decision. By Bale scoring he pretty much decided it. If I were Bale, I would walk the ball to the goal line and stop play pointing to the ref to take a decision, If he signals play on, i would tap it in.

After Bale scored and jubilated, What would be Cech's offence? Did he stop a goalscoring opportunity even after Bale scored?
cech's offence was denying adebayor a goalscoring opportunity! he clearly fouled adebayor and that incident should have been revisited.
lehmann got a red card in the champions league final against barcelona in a similar incident even though barca had scored from a follow up.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by coogar: 2:14am On Apr 16, 2012
chic2pimp: Granted the second goal should not have stood and Cech perhaps should have been sent off but I somehow still don't see Tottenham winninng. Not with the horrendous form they've shown off late. Also with Drogba in the sort of mood he was in yesterday. There I say it had Toress started yesterday the outcome might have been different.
cech perhaps? that was a blatant red card! end of story.
he prevented a goalscoring opportunity - yes bale still scored from the situation
but the foul should have been revisited. cech should have been sent off. the referee
screwed up mainly because tottenham were too naive to complain.

i trust rooney - he wouldn't even do any follow up. the penalty/sending off was more
important than the goal. chelsea with a man down(petr cech) would have worked in spurs favour
chelsea's reserve goalies are w@nk.

chic2pimp: Are you kidding me? Take a good look at the image you posted again and tell me how that is not a dive?. The contact was minimal to say the least but you'll think he had been shot with the way he went down. Also the way he stretched his left leg was nothing short of a joke. Stonewall penalty?.... More like Cheat.

Atleast Danny had more of a case.
that's the thing. you are taking a look at the image posted but was that the pace at which football is played.
of course, the real play was 5 times faster than that. a player turning with pace impeded would definitely fall.
how many times have we seen goalies trying to take a shot n falling on their arses - were they diving too?
the pace at which football is played these days makes it difficult for players to stand on their feet.

look at the foot of the defender. he brought it out, there was contact.
the law did not say contact had to cause fracture. if the contact impedes the progress of the attacker
then its a foul. a foul in the box is a penalty. the point is - whether ashley young dived or not, it's
a penalty. if he didn't dive, the referee would not give the decision.

chic2pimp: One can only imagine the kind of insults that would have been thrown their way had they lost that match yesterday.
they robbed tottenham.
the 2nd goal did not cross the line and petr cech should have copped a red card for fouling adebayor.
it didn't matter that bale scored. cech should have been sent off retrospectively.

2-1 with 10-man chelsea, spurs would have certainly won.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by coogar: 1:25am On Apr 16, 2012
coogar: gamble of the largest proportion? what other gamble is much more than spending £50m on a striker?
no one is asking chelsea to buy up all the world class players on the planet. just do a reshuffling that plays to the strengths of torres.
torres is a spear-head. play him in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

a creative midfielder with vision like mata or benyaoun(a player you sent on loan) must be behind torres.
lampard for all his talents is too docile to be this kind of player. for all his resourcefulness, lampard is not elusive.
he is not in the same level of nasri, mata, silva, ozil, modric, van der vaart and hleb - lampard is too one dimensional.

then have kalou, anelka, sturridge, malouda, etc to flank this creative midfielder on both sides.
play 2-deep lying midfielders behind this roaming three. . . . .to protect the back four.
chelsea would rise from the ashes if they can do that. the 4-3-3 is not getting the best out of the players at villas-boas disposal.

having mata playing ahead of cashley has also exposed cashley to attacks!

so young dived or your eyes were deceiving you?
there was contact, the contact impeded the progress of ashley young and yes he made the most of it, but who wouldn't.

against wigan, welbeck was held back - the tool decided to carry on. referee did not give a penalty which might still
