dayokanu: Ok now the boots are responsible for Torres woeful form, Hopefully he would sue adidas for giving him ballet shoes to play football grin.
don't be odious. i said his boots was responsible for his slip not his woeful performance.
his woeful performance can be excused with brainless players like sturridge, lampard, ramirez, kalou.

I know you like figures, How many shots has Cisse had in 9 games that has made him score 10 goals
statistics are facts - the events the naked eye often miss or cannot process during the games.
torres' shots per games is too low - it goes to show he doesn't get many chances to score like
his counterparts. his team-mates regard him as a midfielder.

How were the chances Cisse scored from different from the ones Torres slipped?
Nice through balls, striker isolate himselfs Difference was that one scored while one flopped
cisse had them laid on the plate for him.
there's no midfielder in chelsea as selfless as cabaye, guthrie, tiote, etc bar juan mata.

He was given a chance to boost his goals and stats yet he chickened out.
that chance came too late.
lampard keeps scoring from 12 yards. his last 3 goals have been from the spot.
they all count at the end of the season. torres should be taking those penalty kicks.

Drogba is too old and his performance is whats expected from most 34yr old striker, Many strikers of his age are not even playing competitively again.
drogba is not too old. the supporting cast is the problem.
i don't see drogba labouring to get his chances. he doesn't get tired. the only difference is
the chances to score have dried up thus his goals have vaporised.

Chelsea realized this and bought a younger striker for 50m but this striker turned out to be dud
they failed to get the supporting cast to enhance the quality of their 50m striker.
if they had bought 2 decent wingers with him, we won't even be talking about this.
sturridge/malouda in comparison to. . . .ribery/robben? valencia/nani? walcott/gervinho?
bale/lennon? pennant/etherington?

sturridge/malouda have a total of 5 league assists this season. valencia alone has 12 league assists. grin

dayokanu: You give someone two chances and he folds up like an epileptic person Not once but twice.
How many chance does the team get in a game that one striker would be slipping twice in 5 mins?
blame his boots. nothing to do with torres.
hundreds of players have slipped or lost their boot in football games - stop your idiocy.
it was his volley that still got the 2nd goal - i keep wondering how your memory keeps forgetting that.

How many chances does Papiss Cisse get in a game? Cisse 10 goals already, Are you telling me he has 300 shots to get those goals?
plenty of chances - the question is why has demba ba's goals dried up since cisse joined newcastle.
when was the last time demba ba scored a league goal? this is because every player in newcastle works for cisse.

the 3 goals cisse scored in the last 2 games. see how he was fed.
if he was playing for chelsea, sturridge wouldn't have passed like ameobi did. lampard would have taken his shots outside the box
but cabaye slipped in a through pass that isolated cisse with the goalie to score 2 good goals.

The same striker that was given a penalty to shoot and chickened out
he's not the chief penalty taker.
if he had scored from the same penalty, you would be here spewing nonsense that he had to beg a fellow teammate to end his drought.

The same striker that said lack of Spanish speakers in the dressing room is affecting him
The same striker who blamed the noise in London for his woeful performance
irrelevant to the topic of discussion.
i laid out statistics for you yesterday and like a tool. . .you ran out of here with your tail between your scrawny legs.
no striker would score goals with sturridge as winger. drogba hasn't, torres hasn't.

dayokanu: Vs Wigan, He was fed with 2 excellent balls in the box, No defender close to him and he slipped.

So Who is to blame for Torres not getting at least 2 more shots in that game?
those chances are not enough. besides, it was still torres' effort that got mata the goal.
look at other teams and see the number of chances rooney/rvp/aguero/chicharito get before they score.
a good team should be creating 20-25 chances per game with each striker getting between 6-8 chances.

torres gets 2 and he gets slaughtered for not converting them.
ronaldo gets 15 in a game. messi gets about 12!
2 chances are not enough! it has to be more than that.

debosky: Forget DD - he came on too late. But Torres couldn't fashion a single shot ALL game and it's just the fault of the wingers?

Amazing escapism. cheesy
so how's he expected to get his shot if he's not fed by the players behind him?
do you reason with the sole of your feet? like i was saying yesterday, torres
has one of the lowest shots/game of all the strikers in europe. he doesn't
get as many chances as rooney, van persie, welbeck, etc.

since most naija chics are greedy and they always demand for rewards when they offer help, i can see why this method is effective.
after taking the little boy to the address, the girls would want to go in for a meal(meatpie/orange juice) or transport fare.

debosky: Dunno why Nateevs is making a fuss about wingers - Chelski won more corners than Fulham - why didn't the attackers make anything of the corners?
because all the corners were shyte - played directly into the hands of the fulham goalkeeper.

debosky: If you have 12 shots with only 4 on target, do you blame the creators for not creating chances or those whose shooting is 66% off target?
Contrast that with the opponents that had 11 shots but 9 on target and the problem gets clearer - poor performance of the strikers/forwards
chelsea had 8 shots off target.
lampard(3), meireles(2), ramirez(1), kalou(1), cahill(1).
nateevs is right once again. chelsea's wingers/creators are out of their depths.

torres/drogba had a total of 0 shots on/off target - the system is the fault, not the strikers.

dayokanu: Total number of minutes Lukaku has played in EPL is 80 awesome min

Yet this toad wants us to believe the support cast for Lukaku was lacking in those 80 subs minutes
welbeck scored on his debut for man utd.
chicharito scored on his debut for man utd.
macheda scored on his debut.

a newbie who is young in any league knows the few minutes he gets are precious.
if he fails to impress the fans and the manager in those few minutes then his chances are gone
especially if he plays for a big team - lukaku's had 6 premier league apps(5 of those apps had 10+ mins cameo).
he's had enough time to prove himself - chelsea's midfielders failed him. grin

the times i have seen lukaku, he's been horrendous - starved of quality delivery.
even bebe(a winger) scored in his 2nd appearance for man utd(in those few precious minutes).
dayokanu, bow down and munch my turds. grin

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by coogar: 8:37pm On Apr 09, 2012
dayokanu: Who are Chelsea strikers this season?
a 34yr old African named Didier Drogba, A 27yr old Spainard fernandud and a teenage Lukaku
yet he ties himself in tortuous knots.
lukaku failed to shine because the supporting cast is lacking. lukaku is belgium's brightest prospect.
he has barely had a kick because when he had his chance to play, the midfielders failed to feed him/

Drogba is beyond his sell day as age is taking tolls, Lukaku is too young and barely gets time (How many games has Lukaku started this season).
drogba is not beyond his sell date. . . .he's been shambolic this season because chelsea's system has faults.
put the same drogba in newcastle, arsenal, tottenham and man utd where wingers are drilled to put the ball in the box
and his fortunes would change asap. lukaku's effort to make a name for himself in england has been frustrated by
chelsea's wingers.

The responsibility falls on Torres to deliver but like the dud he is he delivers 3 league goals in 26 freaking games, Same as Ivanovic, Less than Terry and Almost same as David luiz All these are central defenders .
responsibility falls on the midfielders to feed their most expensive player in their history.
if the support is dodgy, the final product would be horrible. this is simple logic.
lemme explain again in numbers cos i can see words get you confused.

total crosses of wingers in the league

46 - sturridge(25 apps)
142 - valencia(21 apps)
193 - nani(24 apps)

125 - walcott(31 apps)
122 - van der vaart(28 apps)
182 - downing(31 apps)

167 - gareth bale(31 apps)
203 - etherington(26 apps)
219 - pennant(26 apps)

231 - jarvis(32 apps)
243 - seb larsson(30 apps)
106 - james mcclean(15 apps).

anybody expecting torres to bang in goals like his counterparts without paying
attention to the low number of chances he gets per game must be a simpleton.
if messi moves to chelsea, he would be lucky to get 12 league goals all season.

debosky: A lot of absolute rubbish talk about Ramsey here - typical.

Did Ramsey miss from three yards like Vermaelen did? Did Ramsey stop a goal like Vermaelen did? But no - Vermaelen is not useless for making those mistakes!

More blatant scapegoating when the favourites don't do well.

Did RVP score when he had a free header with Hart alone to beat? NO - he hit the post. Why did RVP stray offside in silly fashion when he could've held his run and gotten us a goal? No mention of that! But hey, they are exempt from critique.

What of the player that replaced Ramsey in the starting lineup? Benayoun? How come he couldn't score from 4 yards out? huh

No talk of all that, all the focus is on Ramsey!

Note - Ramsey's miss was awfully atrocious, no doubt - but only someone needing a brain transplant would think that was worse than TV5 or Benayoun's galling misses.

I thought Arsenal fans were immune from ridiculous claims and utter irrationality - apparently they are not.

Ramsey is simply suffering from trying too hard to impress - once he calms down a bit the quality will shine through.
debosky, you are a bumbling oaf!
you want to compare ramsey's miss to van persie's?
van persie was backing hart when he made that header in haste. he didn't know he had so much time to control that cross n score.

ramsey was in control all through. a classic counter-attack.
he took 2 defenders off the radar and he had an option to either pass to van persie or score.
he decided to score and he shot 500 yards wide. aaron ramsey is not an arsenal player - he's out of his depth!

dayokanu: How come this was not a problem when Chelsea was winning the league under Jose mourinho in 2005 and in 2006?
Lampard is still their top scorer just like in the days of Mourinho Only difference is that they bought a useless striker who scuttled everything
2005
13 - lampard
12 - gudjohnsen
10 - drogba

2006
16 - lampard
12 - drogba
10 - crespo.

dayokanu, you keep disgracing yourself.
as you can see, chelsea strikers were 2nd/3rd on the scorer's chart @ stamford bridge.
if you take the obscene amount of freekicks/penalty lampard took under mourinho, this pattern is explainable.

in 2011/12,there's no chelsea striker in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position @ stamford bridge.
what's the similarity between this season and mourinho's era? have you traded your brain-cells with a plate of porridge?

sturridge has 3 assists all season. his shots/game is 3.0.
valencia has 12 assists all season. his shots/game is 0.8.

dayokanu: Drogba is old and Lukaku barely plays.

The problem with Chelsea is in the striking department and torres is the major issue.

Drogba is too old to be depended on

The club buys a younger striker who is supposed to be world class yet this striker has less league goals than Defenders?

is it also the system that makes Ivanovic, Terry, David Luiz have similar scoring records to Torres?

Torres not delivering is the major issue here and thats what causes problems for Chelsea.

It would be a major issue in Bayern if Mario Gomez can only give 3 league goals at Easter

I can imagine where Arsenal would be now, If RvP had gone 24hrs plus of gameplay without scoring a goal, Not even a goalmouth scramble or tap in
you are a bumbling oaf!
answer simple question and you are saying drogba is old. drogba is old?
paul scholes has scored 3 league goals since january and a whole didier drogba has 5 league goals all season?
how old is scholes? how old is drogba?

if i print out the shots/game of european strikers in comparison to torres, you would weep for your own stupidity.
torres has one of the lowest shots/game in europe and his suppliers have an above average shots/game.
it goes to show chelsea's midfielders play themselves - not for the strikers.

Manchester United to sign striker Bidemi Afolabi

The 16 year old who has scored over 30 goals already this season is set to sign for the Manchester club. He is known for his aerial ability , pace and his prowess in front of goal. His style of play is similar to that of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
He plays in the Combined Counties Football League .He was born in South Africa but moved to Ireland at a young age.
The Clongowes wood front man is considered one of the most promising strikers in Ireland.
Standing 6 ft 4 he terrorises defences. He can only improve from here.

Or maybe you are saying Torres asked for £100k, but Roman and his goons said "No, you must take £170k or the deal is off!" cheesy
you are a tool!
the £50m paid went to liverpool. the funds from torres brought andy caroll to anfield.
the £170k negotiation is open to debate - his wages at liverpool was about £120k per week.
do you expect him to earn less than at chelsea or more?

StarBoard: The reason £170k is a big deal in relation to Rooney (£200k),Toure and Adebayor is that the latter trio have put in shifts consistently over thf course of this season that make you accept their wages and excuse them for the odd bad day.
£170k is a big deal when a striker goes a full day without scoring when you add up his minutes.
£170k is a big deal when a striker can miss in front of an open goal.
Yeah strikers miss chances, but not as ridiculous as your dullard striker.
£170k is a big deal when a striker at a big club bought at a record fee can't boast of double digit goals tally in April but a supposed selfish striker played out of position at the same club does
but rooney went a full 4 months without scoring a goal from open play
after signing his lucrative £250k/week deal. right or wrong?
it was hernandez and dimitar banging in the goals with rooney playing the role of
a pedestrian. i didn't see your knives out for rooney then.

like i have opined earlier, chelsea's problem is the system, not the strikers.
if torres is so shyte as a striker, why is that there's no other striker in the team
with 20 league goals, or even 15 league goals. ok, what about 12 league goals?
answers on a postcard please. if rooney plays for chelsea with malouda n sturridge
