Neither played well and they both need to improve. Welbeck has more to do, needing to improve his finishing and quicken his thought process, else he won't be here as a striker for long. Chica needs to improve beyond his present limited approach as striker or he will end up eventually as a super sub or situational striker.

If only we could combine them both and get a Danny Hernandez or Javier Welbeck, we would a real nightmare of striker in our squad.  cheesy
i dunno why people say hernandez is useless. . . .he relies on the passes of his midfielders to set him through on goal.
if we don't give him the ammo to run at people, he's not going to deliver anything.

Less BLOCKS, less INTERCEPTIONS, Less TACKLES, Less KEY PASSES.
More BENCH ROLES

Glad you are getting to know Coogar better,
mikel's long ball accuracy is even better than song's - and yet afrodoc opined most of mikel's passes are safe passes. grin
have you lost your ability to read?
alex song is not even good at clearances - how can? when he won't even be in the position to clear the ball - he's busy competing assist stats with walcott!

gareth barry and scott parker are old and are slow as slugs - yet they don't get dribbled like alex song who's supposed to be younger.
key passes per game is not the job of a defensive midfielder - you have shot yourself in the foot. why should song be making key passes when he's supposed to screen his back four - i tell you - song's positional discipline is suspect. where would you see makelele making key passes? grin

the things song does better than mikel are not required from a defensive midfielder.
that he scores and assists is the reason gooners can't win a plastic spoon and why they are vulnerable to counter attacks. there's no balance in their team.
if song is better than mikel based on attacking stats then vincent enyeama is better than gianluca buffon cos the nigerian goalie scores more.

Damn, you’re sure try hard. But you will fail every time. I haven’t posted in hours? When the times of my post are visible for all to see? In fact this argument should end now. It is clear you will say anything no matter how ridiculous to try to ‘win’. Everything else that comes out of your mouth should be taken with a boatload of salt!
But, but, but a fetus is a single cell now!!!
you don't need hours to edit - i was just talking through the back of me neck!

where did i say a fetus is a single cell - you must be dyslexic!
i said a zygote is a single cell and since you were there when this woman conceived, you put the age of her fetus as 2 weeks!
one thing is clear - you are a voodoo apprentice as it gives you supernatural powers to guesstimate people's pregnancy. grin

laaaaakuli! u should exchange ur brain for a plate of gbegiri!  grin cheesy grin
what is he blocking? he cannot be dispossessed and he doesn't get dribbled.
mikel just takes the ball with perfect timing and knowing where to stand. . . .

sometimes a brilliant defender just stands in the way and the ball come to him, naturally!
there was this season rio ferdinand went almost a season with fouling anyone. that's brilliance!

so i think you should be the one to exchange your smoky brain with a plate of porridge.

dayokanu:
You get more dribbled if you are more involved not when you hide from action and you get more dispossed if you are more involved unlike if you hide from play,
exactly what i meant by his positional discipline.
song is a player who also plays as a centre-back so his number of last ditch tackles and co might have been skewed by being the last man.
but whatever it is, song gets dribbled more than any defensive midfielder and he makes more tackles - his positional discipline is suspect.

and to be a defensive midfielder - positioning is the number one priority.

abortion is not murder - that's the koko.
whatever she's got in her belly cannot feel, aspire, love, communicate, etc and so cannot be qualified as a human being or a person.
for you to commit murder, you have to kill an innocent person. emphasis on person.

Okay, from her post, how many weeks pregnant do you think she is
feck knows how many weeks pregnant she is. . . . .only a qualified gyn can tell the actual age of the pregnancy.

If you open her up at 2 weeks pregnant, you will likely find the blastocyst, a mass of cells. Not a single cell per your claim. By next week, the heart and brain are starting to form.
and this cyst can feel, love, desire, aspire, communicate, etc?
you are a blastocyst! grin

I want to know what your opinion would be if she can afford the baby.
what has her parents gotta do with this? she's in her late 20s(so she said). . . . .in a developed country, she would have been on her own for more than 12 years doing her own thing. her chances of getting married in the future has nothing to do with her parents either. they have no part to play in it whether she has a child or not.

the real mccoy is the extra baggage and the fact that she's still single in her late 20s.
it's bad enough she's almost past her expiry date in terms of hooking a man. adding an unwanted baby to the situation would just blow the little chance she's got left.

if she can afford the child, then why did she come here to complain fretfully?

A baby is not in human form till the last trimester? And you question another person’s 'citadel of learning'
of course yes. . . .
what's in her at the moment is a zygote - a single cell.
it is not a person because it possesses no brain and cannot do anything distinctively human: feel, love, think, know, choose, desire, commit, relate, aspire, know itself, know God, know its past, know its future, know its environment, or communicate with anyone.

the zygote has no brain, no nervous system, cannot feel pain or whatever.
it's just a single cell.
how can you then conclude a single cell is a human being or a person?
if this is your conclusion, then many women and doctors should be in prison for murder.
@ Op

It is obviously clear that you are still grieving the loss of your first baby hence . . . And you are only here to address your fear and concern of bringing your baby into that odious Country called Nigeria, the runt, the last Country in the world's list when bastion of morality was being shared.

As long as you know you are financially viable and capable, start saving money on the sides and get ready to embrace this new dimension and curve ball life has sent hurtling down your way. So what if family disowns you, you already went through worse at a younger age, its their loss. So what if society condemns you, why give a rat's ar'se, who is talking anyway? And so what if people talk as long as it does not remove an hair off your body!

Abeg all that na old school matter, people used to talk down about single Mothers back then, and some still do till now, but who died and made them judge? Isn't it common knowledge that majority of the blame lies with the feckless turds called Nigerian "men" who still get fetted and worshipped as if the real men out there are going out of extintion! And if marriage is the be it and all as seen in Nigeria, why is that Country still a parasite and the dredge and pond scum in the eyes of the World at large!

Of course I bet marriage is good and profitable licence to remain bad to the average Nigerian man, but how many woman you know are enduring rather than enjoying it? How many are just in it for their children? How many are in it just for the ring on their finger? How many are in it just to boast to the world that they have a man? How many are in it just to have a roof over their head?. . .

Sweetheart, you are now a fully grown lady and even the people talking down on you now, would be the same talking when you hit 30 and is still single, and guess what they say "at least she should have born one pickin even if she no marry", so you see you cannot please society at large. Most children, or is it all sef, only come from God, and according to Him, before he formed us in our Mothers's womb He knew us and all the hairs on our head are numbered, so in these latter day and end time we are in, better start making preparation to step into your role of becoming a Mother. Like I once said, even the Scientists who have been claiming there is no God have claimed to have seen the "god particle" responsible for how the World was birthed, buncha arrogant deluded goons, proud to admit there is a God yet dumb enough to term it "god particle" mschewww.

Yes it is sheer hard work, especially if only you have to do it alone, but most of your married counterpart too have to do it alone, cos most Naija man's hand turns to plastic when it comes to looking after babies and they are clueless when it comes to which end to stick the bottle in and which end poo comes out of, lol.

Sorry wrote this in a hurry and on the phone, so incase it reads as I hate men, I don't, still undecided lipsrsealed
what you have written is a complete balderdash. . .

the op is in nigeria for feck sake. if she's in the uk/usa where handouts are thrown at single mothers, yes - she can afford to keep the baby.
that she's working does not mean she's comfortable. some people earn less than 20,000 naira a month in nigeria - how would that feed her and the baby.
there's no husband which means she must stop working for x + y months in order to take care of the baby - who would help with her finances? you? nairaland?

her best option is to get rid of the foetus. you opined no man has the right to terminate another life. you would have to convince me first that what is growing in her belly is a person. as long as the foetus is not in her last trimester, it's not in human form yet. it's just condensed blood - unless you think every time a woman menstruates, she has killed a child.

our mentality as nigerians is still backward and it's one of the reasons why we are the most populous black nation and about 90% are living in poverty.
why attach sentiments to what we both know it's not applicable? she cannot afford to have a baby - leave the mumbo-jumbo out of this and get real.
why do people insist on bringing children they cannot take care of to this world and make the child suffer? what's the essence?

busy-body, you look educated but what you typed above showed no evidence that you have ever been to a citadel of learning. grin

screen the back four, nullify any threat and constitute a nuisance/frustrate the effort of his opponents.

at least we have been able to clear the "all he does is backwards/sideways passing" theory.

the scott parker type of player can only be praised in england - not in europe.

we want to watch football not an arse-kicking contest. players like vieira, roy keane and bommel are liabilities to any team. why do fans hate de jong today?
de jong is not a diver, he's no racist but fans can't stand his bulldog approach of brawns over brains.

this is what alonso said about carrick. . . .

"Gerrard is a great player. He inspires and leads, he is very strong and is capable of making players around him raise their game, but he also needs players alongside to bring the best out of him.

"England missed a player like Carrick in the midfield, somebody who knows how to be in the right place at the right time.

"Gerrard gains a lot from having a player like Carrick as a partner, somebody who provides the back-up he needs to be free and bring his power to bear decisively in a game."

Carrick has continued to be overlooked by national coach Fabio Capello. The 28-year-old's last start came in the 3-1 warm-up friendly win against Mexico, but he failed to make an appearance in South Africa.

Alonso believes that there needs to be a change in emphasis regarding the national team, intimating that Capello needs to concentrate more on gelling a 'blend of styles together' in the England team.

"For me, it is important to have players who complement one another. Sometimes the 11 best do not make the best 11," he said.

"The way I understand the game, you also need someone who delivers simple, short passes, even if they seem innocuous at the time. For me that is the sort of player that's been missing from the side.

"The profile of the English player is very direct. Direct football is great but you have to know how to combine that with an understanding of the need to associate with other players, with knowing how to pass and pass and keep the ball, how to change the rhythm of a game as circumstances demand."

song makes more tackles and more interceptions per game than mikel and i think u would agree with me dt those r d primary responsibilities of a defensive midfielder.y wont he make more tackles when he is protect a porous back four whose defenders love bombing forward.mikel on d other hand is playing in a defensive team dt has more capable defenders.mikel's passing stats mean poo since he is usually passing sideways n backwards,he should hv 100% completion rate.he is ahead of carrick n barry is he a better passer than those guys?
mikel is a better passer than those guys. statistics prove it.
those sideways and backward passes keep the possession. why is busquets the number one defensive midfielder in europe? it is because he's the best one touch passer in the planet. his passes don't really go further than 5-10 yards but he retains possession for his team rather than hoof it when faced with pressure from the opponents.

it seems you don't have a complete grasp of who a defensive midfielder should be.
he just needs to screen his back four. he should make short passes and puts himself in the way when danger comes.
does makelele ping passes like scholes or gerrard? makelele has never passed further than 20 yards in his career, he never heads the ball or what not.
a defensive midfielder should epitomise simplicity. that's what the role is all about.

mikel makes less tackles than song cos he STANDS n WATCHES or he provides an ESCORT service,d same way he provided one for messi when nigeria faced d argies in dt repeat friendly
stands and watches? mikel obi stands and watches?
if a defensive midfielder makes more than 4 tackles in a game then he should be sacked.
his positional discipline should come into play. . . .only bulldogs make tackles like song does. . . .cos his position is always a suspect.

you should see welbeck's goal at the emirates and the way alex song became a cctv that watched united score without making any meaningful challenge.

lol.
i can't be more careful with the kind of women i sleep with!
the key is being with a girl with her head tightly screwed on her shoulders - only irresponsible babes with no future ambition get pregnant anyhow.

11 different stats there coogar and mikel wins 6-5 so how u can say he is better than song will ever be or dt d gap isnt funny is quite strange
the things song does better than mikel are not important for defensive midfielders.
the stats prove song gets more dribbled than mikel. . . .song tackling more than mikel actually means song's positionally irresponsible that needs last ditch tackles.
song's average passes per game also means shyte since his pass completion rate is worse than mikel's.

what's the essence of making 1000 passes when the accuracy is nothing to write home about?
seriously, give the stats some thoughts and you would see mikel is miles ahead of song.
they should never be compared and that stat was culled from premierleague.com

a disciplined man who knows the last time he discharged would know when to use the withdrawal method or not.

tpia@ may win miss world! grin

The evidence is not conclusive. I also have access to Google, nah! grin
very conclusive. . . .
simply put. . . . .a man who has not discharged any sperm cells in months cannot impregnate any woman with his precum.
the secretion comes from the cowper's gland so it has no involvement with semen at all.
however, the danger lies if the man had discharged shortly before and the precum picks up sperm cells in the urethra.
that's the fact!
