Luiz has a lot of bad moments in his Chelsea career but when it comes to taking the ball out of the back he is quite good at it, Something players like Pique, Jones, Hummels etc are known for. The team has also benefitted from his attacking drive more than once
conveniently forgetting jones, hummels and pique know 5 things more about defending and david luiz knows nothing.
see - i am all for a defender who can score goals - every one must contribute their own quota but when the primary role of a player is neglected for tertiary roles then something is definitely wrong somewhere. . . . go and look at luiz's role in that game against napoli and the one against man utd.
he was pathetic!

Stats show that even as a defender he has scored the same number of goals as Torres in the EPL. They both came in at the same time. He was coming from outside EPL and had to acclamatize, Torres didnt have that issue.
As a footballer he has been more productive than Fernadud.
he has played more league minutes than torres and he often vacates his position to join issues that does not concern him

How do they play to the strenght of Cisse? Who are the players more intelligent that Mata in Newcastle?
Some days ago, didnt you say that age doesnt matter in football?
they have cabaye, ben arfa and demba ba. . . .
they have gutierrez, obertan and ryan taylor who understand wing play. . . .
unlike daniel sturridge who is the most useless team-mate any striker can dream of. . . .

Other players have been disappointing as well among the new brigade by not putting in consistently good performance e.g Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill etc But the difference with someone like Luiz is atimes Luiz comes up with the good
luiz is the most useless defender in the premier league.
i am sure he was never a natural defender @ the start of his career - lack of opportunities forced his will to become a defender.
yes, he's good attacking-wise but defensively, he's shyte!

While Torres has consistently failed 2 goals all season = Pappis Demba Cisse who has played just 3 games for Newcastle.
How do you start rationalising that?
it simply means newcastle and alan pardew play to the strengths of pappis demba cisse.
this does not mean cisse is a better striker than torres. one thing is certain you have to play with intelligent team-mates to flourish.
unfortunately, only mata plays with a consistent level of intelligence at chelsea. others have lost their football sense or too old to execute what's required.
torres is not the problem, the system is!

Ibime:
Leave Coogar to be rant reh reh reh. . . . against Napoli, Coogar was the only one raving that Chelsea were playing fantastic because Mata was playing no 10. I thought maybe I was going blind watching the game but thank God no one else supported his view that Chelsea were playing fantastic. Infact its one of the worst games Ive seen from Chelsea.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=334832&league=UEFA.CHAMPIONS&cc=5739

except that the link above says that chelsea played well and deserved at least a draw from the game but your defence was a joke on the night.
if you can only produce one goal from 14 shots, then it's not mata that is at fault, your strikers on the night were lethargic.
chelsea had more possession, had 5 shots on target and could only produce one goal - napoli had 7 shots on target and scored 3 goals.
conversion rate reads napoli(almost 50%), chelsea(20%)

who is to blame? torres? grin you're a disgrace to football punditry.

fergie was able to do that because other players were delivering

You want AVB to drop Drogba, Anelka and Lampard the team top scorers for years and Put in Torres who scored 2 all season long?

So who would be scoring when he drops the old guards?

The same players who couldnt win games vs Swansea, Norwich, Birmingham, Napoli etc?
so you admit torres isn't the only one not delivering for villas-boas? shocked shocked shocked shocked

Make a set of rules of what you want the brother to change in his habits. Ensure they are reasonable rules.

Call your husband and his brother and present it to them assertively and with aplomb.

Let your husband know you expect him to monitor the rules are adhered to.

Monitor for about 1 month to see if there is an improvement.

If no significant improvement, get yourself a ticket and go back to Nigeria.

Tell your husband you love him but you will only comeback when his brother is out of the house.

By then, your husband has completely lost the right to even discuss how to improve his behaviour, it is now a case of him getting out of the house.

Make sure you have something to go and be doing in Nigeria. Even when the brother is out, take 2-8 weeks before going back to SA.
leave her matrimonial home and fly back to nigeria?
have you seen how beautiful and how cheap south african ladies are?

maybe this was the husband's plot originally - frustrate my wife so she can return back to nigeria thus clear the coast!

of course yes. . .the brits have a serious evidence against ibori.
for him to have pleaded guilty, his lawyers must have seen what the prosecutors have against him.
again, pleading guilty before being found out would attract a more lenient sentencing as it saves public funds and lengthy trial time.

However, to be fair, one has to hear the other side of the story to judge accordingly.
It is possible to 'hate' someone just like that. It  may be as a result of an outside influence i.e mother-inlaw.
More reason you should not talk about people in front of 'kids'

DEAR NAIRALANDERS,
i live abroad with my husband of 9months, and his younger brother (20yrs old) who is studying here. the problem i have is this, this boy talks rudely, does not wash or clean anything, he prefers sleeping and waking up in mess and he doesn't care,we are not friends because he doesn't talk to me but he eats my food, i stopped dishing his food cos sometimes when you tell him his food is dished he will tell me he doesn't want to eat and he goes out to buy fast-food or something. he makes a mess of the dustbin and he doesn't  take it out. he leaves his plate unwashed when he eats, whenever he bathes the bathroom is always in a mess and i take my time to clean the house everyday. i was mad one day when i pepared a particular food for my husband which said he doesn't eat, i went to rest and by the time i was out he was eating the food and messed the kitchen up,God i was furious but i didn't say a word, i just made another meal for my husband. and he is used to eating more than 1 meat or if we have two left in the pot, he will just eat the whole thing. and lastly i hate the way he looks at me like he wants to know why i stand up, sit, walk or even stand. he doesn't knock when he want to come into our room, he is always behaving like shebi its my brothers money or stuff. im so fed up. LIVING WITH INLAWS HAS NEVER BEEN EASY ACCORDING TO WHAT PEOPLE SAY. i feel like going back to naija, cos i dont have any privacy here.
everyone that knows me knows i am a very nice person, i have tired to make friends with me but he is just too wierd for my liking, but i dont like when people cant put themselves in their place.

Whenever i tell my husband that his bro has done this or that he will tell me to keep quiet, and he doesn't correct him, he sees all these things too.

I think i needed to tell you my story because i am about explode. i have been bottling this up for a long time.

your bro-in-law does these horrible things and all your husband can say is for you to be silent? abeg - this story is only 20% complete.

It's NOT your husband's fault that he can't get it up! Granted, he should have told you BEFORE marriage and him keeping it from you is just plain wrong!

But you have to ask yourself, if the tables were turned . . . if you knew you were barren . . . will you be quick to tell the one you are about to marry huh

As far as I'm concerned, testing a man's virility before marriage is equivalent to testing a woman's fertility!

It's true that such things are grounds for divorce but if you really wanted a divorce, you wont be here asking for help.

Your husband needs you now, dont let him think his mother is better help to him than his own wife.
you mean you won't tell your fiance that valuable information about yourself and lure him into marriage? haba.
anyways, i don't need for any woman to tell me the truth. i would find out myself.
20 days of back to back unprotected sex is the test - if she doesn't miss her period after that, i would be taking her to my doctor to see what the problem is.

how often does fergie play giggs?

1608 league mins - lampard
1022 league mins - giggs.

the media don't go hyper when fergie leaves on the bench. . . .but the moment lampard finds himself on the bench with chelsea failing to win, the media go crazy and they blame the loss on the absence of fat frank. besides, giggs and scholes can be squeezed to get good performances because they are surrounded by more young players than what lampard is surrounded with. in chelsea, it's the blind trying to lead another blind man in a dank tunnel.

Lampard should follow Giggs's example

A goal and a fine display against Bolton Wanderers? Well then, England's Frank Lampard is back and nasty foreign man André Villas-Boas was a fool for leaving him out of the Chelsea side against Napoli. Maybe not. A top English player is always going to have his media cheerleaders who will root for him when he's taken on by a foreign manager, especially one who's in his first season in England. Scoring against Bolton does not necessarily mean Villas-Boas is wrong to think that Lampard's best days are behind him and the Portuguese could point to a string of irrelevant displays from the midfielder before Saturday to illustrate his point.

Yet there is an inherent stupidity to the battle between Villas-Boas and his senior players – if only they would realise, they are essentially all striving for the same goal: Chelsea winning. Clearly Chelsea must freshen their squad and it is part of Villas-Boas's mandate to bring in fresh blood, yet the natural consequence of that is not necessarily freezing out the older players. As they proved against Bolton – Didier Drogba got the second goal – they can still be useful, just not every week. Getting older means you can play less, you get injured more and you recover more slowly, but it does not have to herald the end, as Ryan Giggs demonstrated by scoring a last-minute winner for Manchester United at Norwich City on his 900th appearance for the club.

Lampard has been at Chelsea for more than 10 years and should be looking to see out his career at Stamford Bridge, instead of leaving under a cloud. Perhaps it is down to Villas-Boas, whose man-management is also in question, to convince the players to accept a lesser role, while still retaining their seniority in the dressing room. If it's good enough for Giggs and Paul Scholes, it's good enough for Lampard.

this is why i am an advocate of sex before marriage. . . .

and this should serve as a lesson to all those celibates who think they are on the right track. . . .how can?
people should task their brain and realize the people left in the world today have been careless with their health issues and erectile dysfunction and infertility are on the rise.

men(in their bid to be metrosexual) take loads of pills from weight reduction pills to 6-pac pills. the alcohol intake in the youths today has also increased to what youths used to take many moons ago. junk foods, fitness issues, etc - all these things have side effects which may or might not cause all sorts of dysfunction. not every man walking on the streets is active. impotency rate is on the rise - women should shine their eyes and not fall for men who cannot get it up. if a man readily agrees with you on the sex before marriage in this day and age - a woman should run and never look back. . .

same applies to the women - many of them have ruptured their tubes and are looking for gullible men to hitch them up.
it's only after several years of trying for babies in marriage that the secret would be revealed and then what? i don't pity the original poster one jot.
let her spirituality and years of celibacy wake up her husband's phallus.
you've made your bed, now you must lie on it. . . . .
