Gadaffi was stronger and richer, where is he today?
Keep underestimating the power of the people. without nato forces, you really think libyans could have gotten gadaffi? gadaffi was captured by nato, not by libyan rebels. and what makes you think gadaffi is stronger and richer than babangida? you underestimate the evil genius. ibb is nigeria. if he sneezes, everyone in nigeria must catch the flu. |

Cuddlemii: Everywhere I turn to on Nairaland, Facebook etc are marriage topics or related to marriage topics. Whats the big deal about it? Is marriage the final bus stop to life and its accomplishments?
If you are an unmarried lady, do you want to get married because its the in thing or because you genuinely want to.
Can you also decided not to get married. And if you decide not to, are you are afraid to face the criticism and stigmatization that comes with that decision or stand?
I am a young lady, who still needs a little nurturing in terms of mental maturity so I am still indecisive about the institution called marriage. I know its a necessity. I know its ordained by God. I don't know if its the commitment involved that scare me or not. I just want us to discuss it together. Do you really want to get married? And why? If you decide not to, can you survive it. they are unmarried because they don't want to get married - at least not yet! |

That translates to Jonny sacrificing N800,000. PER ANNUM
Now that is a lot.
I dont see why people wud still want to protest when our president has given up so so much for us.
Oh, oh, maybe its 'cause he didnt touch the allowances that are in some cases 50-100 times the value of the salary of a political office holder
Aww, He must have forgotten about the allowances. Poor thing a lot? are you aware this idiotic president of yours budgets 1 billion naira on food for his household per annum? 1 billion naira for food alone? he must be eating hollywood celebrities. |

stiyke: Government did that before subsidy was removed. Labour decline the offer. nigerians were already paying without subsidy. the new move would result in a double subsidy removal @ 65 naira, the citizens were already paying more than they should for 1 litre. in a country where the minimum wage is 18,000, the price of petrol per litre shouldn't be more than 20/30 naira. |

These were his words : I WAS PRAYING ABOUT ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENING AND THINGS THAT ARE ABOUT TO HAPPEN IN NIGERIA, AND THE LORD SAID TO ME, "LOOK, MY SON, THE PROBLEM NOW IS NO MORE ABOUT THE SUBSIDY REMOVAL, RATHER, YOUR PEOPLE ARE PROTESTING BECAUSE THEY ARE DOUBTING IF THE GOVERNMENT WOULD UTILISE THE MONEY WHICH THEY WOULD GET FROM THE REMOVAL OF SUBSIDY". THEN I PRAYED AND ASKED THE LORD FOR THE SOLUTION TO THIS AND HE SAID, " LET THE GOVERNMENT SIT DOWN WITH THE LABOUR UNION AND INVITE THEM TO BRING THIER REPRESENTATIVES SO THAT THEY WOULD BE REPRESENTED IN THE VERY COMMITTEE THAT WOULD MANAGE THE MONEY THAT WOULD BE ACCRUED FROM THE SUBSIDY REMOVAL. THROUGH THIS WAY, THE LABOUR UNION AND THE PEOPLE WOULD COME TO TRUST THE GOVERNMENT AND ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT TRUELY, THAT POLICY WOULD BETTER THIER LIVES. Would he as a grown up man continue going to his dad to choose his bride for him or would he rather just follow is heart as most well informed people do. Would he continue dating the girl knowing fully well the family has reservations and potentially can provid them problems in the future?
If we all believe the general saying that love conquers all then it's a simple decision for him to go with the girl as long as he ain't doing so because of the guilt he had be dealing with if he didn't.
IMO, parents should only be there to give blessings not to be a determinant factor when choosing a bride as they won't be their 24/7 throughout the marriage the op is a child. i am sure he would still seek his father's advice on the best sexual position to get his wife pregnant. |

StarBoard: Stop this malfeasance abeg. DeGea didn't fumble shots against City in the shield,West Brom, and Theo Walcott of all people. those were his first few games. since then he has improved massively. theo walcott's goal can never be de gea's fault. you ought to ask how walcott get the space to get into that position in the first place. since then de gea kept us unbeaten against stoke, liverpool, chelsea, etc. how come no one is mentioning that? What kind of selective memory is this? And you should also look at Iker Cassilas who was the same age as Donut Boy when he steered Real Madrid to the CL title in 2000 starting with an amazing display at OT that season. He (Cassilas) wasn't bulky. In fact he was leaner than Donut Boy. cassilas was amazing at old trafford? which amazement? united self-destructed. roy keane got an own goal then the united defence conceded 2 quick goals in the 2nd half. cassilas had nothing to do with the victory as real madrid were the better team all night. roy caroll also had an amazing display at old trafford when he kept a clean sheet to stop arsenal's unbeaten run. |

montelik: I am tired of d bashing of our goalies. In my personal opinion DDG is better not just from a skills and development stand point, but even in actual play and performance. D advantages Lindergaard is supposed to bring are exaggerated, he is not more experienced he is just older, he is not commanding dealing with crosses he just has a clear size advantage, as shown recently he is just as prone to nerves cause he has no real big match experience, and his command of English doesn't really help organize an injury ravaged and constantly changing back 4.
All that said, he deserves his chance and I am not interested in under-cutting him this early. You and Starboard can argue d case. david de gea is: -a better shot stopper -better distribution of the ball -ice-cold nerves -better reflexes -better movement. |
Notions of the sexual status of a man and a woman seem to lay in contrast with one another. Negative perceptions are often attached to the promiscuous woman/virgin male whereas when these roles are exchanged within the genders - i.e. The "stud"/virgin woman - are generally met with approval.
I've observed that it's not unusual for a man who has had numerous sexual partners to be met with compliments whilst the reverse is the case for the woman equivalent. Alternatively, female virgins are usually regarded highly whereas male virgins often times are sneered at.
-why should gender be a factor in how certain roles are determined/received?
-why is there a value attached to a woman's chastity but a man's sexuality?
man - stronger sex woman - weaker sex
man - predator woman - prey.
predators are hailed with the number of preys they kill. preys get accolades for the number of predators they evade. |

He just needs to grow into it and fill it out and then he will look d part. Lindergaard is getting his well deserved run of games, will see eventually. why shouldn't we start a debate? as far as it's a friendly banter, i don't see a reason we shouldn't have a laugh. i like david de gea, he just needs physical presence to deal with crosses. when he finishes growing, his frame needs filling up like neuer or brad friedel. he's too skinny to physically impose himself when he deals with crosses or long diagonal ball flying into the box. |

montelik: Honestly its 2nd half decisions and tactics like today that make those who claim SAF is losing it look right. We were perfectly set-up in d 1st half and even after their early goal in 2nd half, it still looked like a case of how many we would add. Then as if SAF felt guilty about holding d advantage he decided to even things out. There was no reason to make any change early in 2nd half, much less making d worst change possible. We were killing City with our speed and mobility, yet he takes one of our quickest and most mobile players and then brings on d slowest and most immobile player on bench, not adding a player who is out of practice and synch with d 1st team in a high octane derby game. Then he removes another of d more mobile players, who was keeping d City defense honest for Ando. D perfect comeback recipe for 10 men that were getting gassed by 11. His tactical changes basically left us playing with 9 men to 10 for large parts of d 2nd half. It makes me wonder whether he was intentionally trying to cause a replay.
But then this United where we always do things d hard way. the players forced fergie's hands to introduce scholes. some of the passes united were making after city got the first goal were atrocious. the players couldn't keep the ball. whatever lasagne the players took during the break musta been poisioned. fergie's substitutions were daft - he made mancini look like guardiola and rinus michels cloned together. even though we won, i felt we lost the tie. to make matters worse, we go to anfield after this one while our title rivals play some 4th division side. and yet, football fans continue to delude themselves man utd have bought everyone on the planet. lest i forget, i am anticipating the comments of ruudie and starboard that lindegaard is better than david de gea. please fellas, don't disappoint me. i need a laugh. |
