Corpers basically because they come cheap. I thought that was exploitation. all banks do it. They use them as tellers/cashiers/marketers and out them on a bogus target that they'll nva meet. It's just that you have conscience. |

emmancecute: Was at pelican hotel around past 12am, got a request at globus supermarket to take her within chevyview. I had wanted to link chevyview estate from the back but saw a gate that barricaded chevyview off pelican which means I'd have to go all the way to igboefon to do a u-turn then head back to Chevyview. Called rider that I can't make the trip due to so and so reasons.... the picture showed what I got but me I don't slack to give the f^ck back Just imagine this. Eyes have seen on this job. Picked a girl at the place when I just started this job and took her to around studio24, she said don't end the trip o. Entered her bf's tundra and zoomed off, without paying me my 400. I chased them and waved d guy down. Told him his babe hasn't paid me, dude apologised and told her to pay me . She started acting nice and transfered 1k5. 2mins later I got text from her saying "I am dumb and why would I do that" That if her relationship crashes, she would deal with me. |

Freshprince91: Welldone namesake. Please bro, can you please share the Airport parole? Last time i took a rider to the Int'l airport, told her I've never been there, she said I shouldn't worry that she would help me navigate. I was reluctant at first, because of the stories of towing vehicles and parking wahala . Picked her up on my street and she asked me to drive in through the local airport and i drove straight down to the Int'l airport parking lot where she alighted, immediately Taxify calculated her fare, she jumped out, i didn't know what to do (navigate my way out), I was apprehensive, had to ask a gun wielding police officer for a way out. When I got to the exit, i was told to go back and pay, Local man was stunned! Got to the pay point and was told to pay #500 .Gini !! I haven't spend 5 minutes here, the cashier said that's how it's done. Local man was flabbergasted, 1300 naira trip, now I have to part with #500. After making payment, i was about to head into the car when a request to Lekki came through, i was excited but i had to ask how pick up is done. The Police officer said i should tell the rider to come out and avoid parking on the 'Arrival no pick up point' . Did as instructed and was told to keep turning round until i spot the rider. What I'm asking is : next time i get to the parking lot, can i go down the 'Arrival no pick up point ' and help rider with their luggage back to the parking lot or keep driving round till rider comes out or what? And for the local Airport, if I drive in to the parking lot and request comes in, can i come out to help the rider with her luggage or ask them to come into the parking lot? Where can i pick them? I am scared of their towing vehicles and penalty fees . Next time a trip takes you to international, just drop off your rider at the departure and don't spend more than 2mins there. There 'll be no issues. And if you find yourself at the local airport, just make sure your rider is out there at arrivals waiting for you. Pay at the cashier, drive down and pick him/her up, don't ever try to park at the zebra crossing pls. |

calabardick: They should better read and learn, in as much as I don't trouble you, you've no right to trouble me, if you try it na 3MB I'll end your trip, treat your fvckup and kick you out of my car. Uber have authorise us to abort any idiotic trip.
I see one lowlife punk downgrading drivers because he feels he's working with a heavenly downstream or whatever. I personally work with an upstream - E & P (Automation Engineer, studied and certified in Brazil ), works offshore (2 weeks in/out). I resigned from a reputable military service to further my studies. Instead of staying idle I decide to romance uber, it's fun and stressful out there, it resets my brain as well.
Driving with uber have expose me to both angels and demons, it really shaped my life in so many ways, I've learned a lot.
Drivers deserves to be respected, it's not easy.
On Friday I picked one nasty lady that was insulting and commanding me to drive like James Bond, I ignored her and she tapped my shoulder from behind and said "mr. Man I'm talking to you", I didn't say anything and she began ranting, I ignored her. According to airtel THAT THING DEY PAIN.
When we get to Blenco she mannerlessly asked me to stop for her to shop, and I did. She get inside, I followed her, we shopped at the end of the shopping I purposely stood behind her, my items were 10x more than what she picked and she asked me who I am, I humbly showed her my IDs when we entered the car, that's when sudden humility overshadowed her she now switched to the front seat, I ended the trip there, gave her a free ride to gulf at lakowe, without collecting a kobo from her for the entire ride. When she asked me why I offer her a free ride, I told her UBER DRIVERS AREN'T POOR.
She called around 11pm, I didn't pick her call, she dropped a message [just checking on you]
For their information, I use iPad for uber, fuuuck CEOs Lol. Just like one girl I picked at Skye bank ilupeju, very nasty and uncouth lady. She told me I'll never make it in life. I told her i spent 8 years working with Skye bank and I make her salary 65k in just a week and this is my car. She just weak! |

My day in a nutshell. I picked this guy and his white gf at Eko hotel yesterday to Mushin. (I almost even cancelled the request because of state of Mushin road at the moment) Nice guy, we interacted and gisted all the way, trip was 2,900, guy gave me 5k and said I should come pick them at Eko hotel by 6:30am this mrng to the Int'l airport. Picked them at 6:20 and dropped them off at the airport, guy gave me 6k. I headed to local and got a trip around 8am to awoyaya. 6,300. Immediately I saw a trip from awoyaya back to Int'l airport. 5800. I decided to go see my mechanic around fatai atere way, and then head home, na so Mushin LG boys double crossed me with towing van while waiting for the mechanic We started doing james bond driving as i was ready to risk it all, I almost broke there legs sef. Na so the guy shout. "mad man mad man" I just thank God sha if not all the money wey I make for go. I'm home now chilling and waiting for madam.

northbird: Boss, don't be dissuaded some riders are like that. Since you didn't go, though it cost you.
I salute your resoluteness. Your mere act has implanted an impression that not all drivers can take any kind of shitty errands.
If she encounters 5 or more drivers that display the same kind of gentle but firm refusal to degrade the partner job on e-hailing. Then it wud b d standard.
Sometimes I wonder, wat is wrong with some riders, you are not handicapped/physically challenged neither are you an invalid, yet you refuse to run your own errands.
I will write uber and Bolt a message on the need to address their riders in mails and texts on the purpose why the platform was created : ease of movement from one location to another in Lagos.
That is beyond customer service, the other day, a Lady too asks one dude here to buy her a pack of protection.
I don't think uber and bolt regularly sensitize (in mails n msgs) their riders on inappropriate behaviour towards the driver.
All I see them doing is sending messages n bonus and certain discounts to bring in more revenue.
There is a certain level of professional distance that has to b maintained, we r meeting for the first time n you start sending me to buy you food.
Bolt and Uber needs to up their game on inappropriate rider behaviour, not rating this time. You have said it all. |

pharod: I was a victim of this last weekend. Once I ask your destination and you sounding funny, I'll politely explain why I needed to know my destination. And if you are still proving stubborn , I cancel.
I once got a request and I didn't ask the rider the destination b4hand. Turns out it's Ajegunle and the only way out for me was Otto Wharf road. The bad roads nearly tore my bumper apart. Since then, I have learnt my lesson.
Sometime last week, I was on my way home around 9pm, I got a request and I asked the rider where she's going, she said that I shouldn't ask her, that I will see it when I start the trip. I told her plainly that it's late and I'm not going anywhere unless I know where I'll be taking her. She started calling me names, that she will report me and do all manner of things. I told her to chill b4 she gives herself high BP. The Uber app is easy to navigate and the office is at Maryland Mall, you can even go there and lodge a physical complaint. Pharod couldn't care less. I cut the call, canceled the request went offline and went home. Can't allow one person that doesn't matter to come and spoil my day for me right at the end... I set out this last Sunday after church around Gbagada and i got this trip inside Medina Estate, I decided not to ask (unusal of me) and beaded to pick pick up location, I saw heaps of bags on the floor, (For my mind I thought this was lekki-epe trip) They loaded my car to the brim and started loading themselves (5adults) I declined and said I could only carry 4. I started trip and saw Odonguyan , I not fit cry. I proceeded since it was a Sunday, I have never been there before. Those roads wrecked my car legs, ended trip and madam insisted on Transfer , even when I saw the husband giving her cash, I change am for madam straight up. Lessons learnt |

The kind of insults one receives daily on this job ehn! But uve developed a thick skin tho.
I got a request today at agungi, immediately she called she already sounded rude. And then she said her 2 housemates are following me to go pick her children at school and I bring them back. I said okay..
On our way back , this woman called me that can I buy a tuber of yam for her on the way, that she'll reimburse me my money when we come back..
I just jejely handed over 5h to one of the girls and she went to buy yam. This woman called back and started raking/shouting for me, that she nva sent her houseful, that it's me.
I told her i cant buy yam, I don't know where they sell yams. She dropped the call on me Nd hissed.
After the trip, the woman gave me a 1start just because undid not buy a tuber of yam for her.
