skimanski:Oga Skimanski Love the roof facials. It gives a very crisp finish! My questions - 1) Can this still replace the "annoying" aluminium facial of an already installed roof without damaging the roofing sheets. I believe the facial where installed prior to installing the roofing sheets? 2) Does it comes in different colour or can it be easily painted to any colour of choice? 3) Whats the cost implication of having one installed? Thanks in anticipation Cheers |
Apologies guys This was a very old post. 2008 if I could recall Yes! I did get the GMAT text at that time but have since "dashed" it out For those that know the bookstores around Ojuelegba, you will surely find it there! All the best in the test. If it's going by the one I wrote, it was really hard sha. Hardest bank test I ever wrote and quite honestly I wrote a couple. Also made it into the bank , spent a year before moving on to other things. In a nutshell, please go in well prepared. Again, best of luck Cheers |
segzy14:Please, what's the estimated cost of plastering (broken down into labour and materials)? Thanks in anticipation |
spyder880:I agree, not all artisans prefer the per block model. However, i use the per block model as a benchmark in my negotiations with them. It's best to make informed decisions. That way, i still get a good deal. Just my 2 cents |
What's the estimated cost for a C of O for a landed property in Abule Egba (324sqm)? |
Don't know about you guys o but the famine and thirst just one week to the holiday ( period when we must have finished exams and waiting for the teachers to mark and prepare results) na die! The boreholes and wells will be so dry, all the fruits on trees are all gone. No garri, no money and sad enough no work to while away time. We will just wake up and starve waiting for the dining hall to come through. Can never forget those days #TeamBoardingHouse all the way |
This is just an offshoot of the current economic realities in the country. Most multinationals can not afford to maintain a decent profit margin. Cost of service is constantly on the increase - raising cost of gas to maintain base stations, incessant vandalism of base stations, raising interest rate and worst of all, this incremental cost can not be passed on to final consumers. For the telecommunications companies, it's even worse off when you factor the stiff competition within that sector as companies compete for the declining share of consumer wallets. While communication is important it is not a "bare necessities" as Food, Clothing and Shelter comes first according to hierarchy of needs. I'm sure a lot of people on this site and even Nigeria as a whole was quick to support the FG in the fine against MTN. While I believe sanctions are important, it would have been better managed. Now, the company is going through hard times and need to reduced cost to it's barest. That's expected because companies are run to make profit for shareholders. Exceptions are NGO but even at that, they need to manage their cost so they can deliver more value. I'm not a staff or spokesman for MTN but it's the sad realities that have been experienced across all multinationals. Big companies are struggling with declining revenue and even loses. (wouldn't want to mention names but we all sure the reports even on Nairaland). Soon the emerging middle class would disappear and we will be back to either you are rich or poor. Crime will grow exponentially as people will begin to steal/rob to survive. God save us. It's high time we all return to agriculture both for internal consumption and export proceeds. |
9 Million would never deliver a standard carcass built to spec! Even my friend's Duplex that am very close to, built on half a plot gulped 9M at carcass stage - No plastering, No fittings |
Another Ponzi scheme What the adocates have failed to explain is how the system generate the 30% that it pays out. Even the economy isn't growing 30% On this, I will gladly pass! |
It's rather unfortunate that Toyin would want to play the sympathy card Am old enough not to always hear one side of the story. I personally followed the DStV and HitV saga when it started and I can categorically say that the above write up is more crap than real Firstly, the Nigerian government under the then Ministry of Information ( Frank Nweke Jnr) really supported HitV. They stood by the Hitv when the fully paid rights was going to be recalled after been sold to them. Guess Dstv had pulled strings and the sold rights was going to be recalled. The ministry warned that a recall would be that it will not allow any broadcast in Nigeria (please google) So how did the government fail HiTV? Was he hoping that the government would reverse the sale to Dstv after they won and he couldn't come up with the payment as clearly called out in his write up? Leaving sentiments aside, businness are in operation to make money. The Nigerian bank that backed HiTv lost billions Shareholders funds at that! is he saying they should continue to lose depositors funds and shareholders funds because they want to support a failed venture that the MD was busy lavishing and mismanaging companies funds Or is it the numerous staff that lost their jobs after several months of unpaid salaries or the consumers that wasn't getting value besides football and eventually lost money on prepaid subscriptions. How can a trained lawyer not understand the clause in a contract before signing. Again that calls into question the capability of the person in question. Let's leave sentiment beside, have learnt how not to run a company especially in tough terrain like Nigeria |
Do you treat your wood before using? |
Disconnecting the light alone won't work in a place Nigeria, especially if the monthly bill is estimated. PHCN would still continue to generate bills month on month. A better approach would be to go to PHCN to disconnect him and also stop all future billings pending when a reconnection is effected. However, this still does not guarantee that the outstanding would be cleared. The caution fee (if there's one) can help clear part of the outstanding while the balance will be through dialogue or force |

Very valid points. The title is quite misleading though. As for the state and federal universities comparison, this one that is not new to me because I have a friend that finished from Lasu while I finished from Unilag. Strange but have come to agree that the level of profersors in federal are a lot higher than states and the way knowledge are impacted is not only different but "salient beef" is also greatly reduced. As for public vs private comparison, lots for factors are involved but I would say have met some really smart graduates finishing from these schools. Would want to sum it up to say it's more about the individual. Not all wards in public schools are from rich homes, could this possibly be a driver. Lord knows if had gone to one of those school my folks would have drummed it up my ears that I won't have graduated with anything short of a first class. |
Ytechconst:Thanks |

Got a damaged keyboard What's the cost of replacing the keyboard on a Mac book pro 13.3 retina? Awaiting your response |
Neatly done! Please what does the cost per sqm comes to? Thanks in anticipation. Regards |
Thanks. You really nailed it! Wood used were all new. I couldn't agree more that the carpenter did't do a good job with the bracing. He, however, blamed it on the wood supplied. Claiming it was wet wood even though he was on site and claimed it was good wood at the point of supply I also agree with you that the concrete weren't well mixed. Visited during the final stages and it was obvious that they weren't doing a good job during mixing. Again, they blamed it on the mix ratio advised, that 1.2.4 made it more coarse. Granite used was 3/4 down. He's kind of job doesn't allow for much supervision, i guess he's kinda guilty there. However, should't one be able to engage "professionals" and go to sleep |
Hello Oga Skimanski, Really couldn't help but notice the neatness of the casting of the lintel and pillars A friend just finished his and i noticed some "errors" The pillars weren't "flushed" to the walls post casting. Don't know if it was the coarseness of the mixture or a failed formwork. Wasn't really neat, could see the granite in the pillars and lintel post casting Could you help throw some insights on the above observations Lastly, what's the mix ratio you used. He used 1:2:4. Foundation was inverted "T" similar to this. Regards, Basit |
