Anarchy01:I hope you know this isn’t funded by the Federal Government but by private companies like some banks, Dangote, BUA, glo and all. The least we can do is to be appreciative because they can as well choose to do nothing while we all wait for the government. I agree that 400k might seem small but you also need to understand that our government have tested less than 10k since the lockdown started. So in the real sense of it, 400k is massive! Do note that even the developed countries didn’t test all their population but those with symptoms. Hence, I believe 400k is more than reasonable as we continue to flatten the curve. |
ojeysky:Sorry to take you back to this old post. I'm actually in the market shopping for Inverters and I'm trying to pick between the GK and MK series of the MPP solar inverters The GK sure tops with all the newer features but I do need clarity on two things 1) What does the 'transfer time' mean. I noticed it's not zero like the MK? 2) Is it noisy because I read on Will Prowse review that the fan of the MPP is quite noisy? Thanks in anticipation |
ojeysky:Thanks! Just the real life experience that I needed. So, I can plan my setup requirement accordingly |
spartacus11:I just spent the last couple of hours reading more on it! Would definitely settle for the Lifepo4. My last lead acid batteries didn't even do 2 years on both occasion. Although I wasn't on solar then. |
hancock:Thanks! How many watt do you harvest daily from your 4600 PV solar system? I'm trying to set up one at my house and I would like to know what I can harvest from a 8 nos of 300 watt panel (2400). I've done some reading up myself and I've spoken to some installer likewise but I want something more practically as against the usual assuming 5 hours of sunlight, one will get 12kwh BS which will then be reduced by efficiency and other losses I plan to use 4 nos of 200ah battery |
hancock:What do you harvest daily from your set up? What's the size of your battery bank? |
still available? |
So far, I've bought 3 units. 2 nos of 1hp and 1 no of 1.5hp I will say i'm very disappointed! It's just moderate cooling not 'mortuary standard' Room temperature doesn't; go below 26'C degrees |
Hallenjay:You are definitely not doing something right or your account office is being funny. I won't even call the secondary market 'bidding' as it's more of purchasing what is available on ground. I've bought through the secondary market several times (all Stanbic ) and I'm always debited within a space of 4- 5 hours max (same day). Please ignore your account officer and walk into any Stanbic bank within the hours of 10am - 1pm (that's when secondary market rates are available) and ask for their secondary market rates. Once you have been advised of the rate, simply tell the same officer that you want to buy any of the rate and tenor given. You would be given a form and once that is duly executed, your transaction would be treated. Wait another 4 - 5 hours basically before the end of day and you will be debited. I still did one this week Your account officer needs your money in his/her current account so that his/her portfolio can look good Please note that I'm not a staff of Stanbic IBTC and this is no way trying to sell them. Just an 'informed' T-bills investor |
What's the rate for Stanbic 364 days primary market? |
feelamong:Also, the tenor for the Primary market is fixed at 91 day, 182 days and 364 days. Hence, it’s only in the secondary market that you can get any tenor expect 364 days (since what is being sold in the Secondary is what was bought from the primary) |
feelamong:Saw 13.3% from Stanbic at the secondary market last week but it was for a shorter tenor. Less than 180 days I think |
What tenor? |
Stanbic debit is in. Based on my computation 364 closed at 12.53% |
Horlartunes:It’s out everyday from 10am I believe! |
Debit will occur later today. It happens on Thursdays for the Primary Market |
MrMcJay:Thanks for this! I had always assumed that my full capital was protected |
TotoNaRubber:I don’t believe your computation is correct. The earned interest should be added to the debited sum and not the supposed sum at maturity |

Equity funds is based on your risk appetite The funds are actually invested in the stock market and I would say the NSE has experienced some real bashing lately. Stock are currently at their lowest even with good financial reports being churned out by these coys The current government has been unable to restore foreign investors’ confidence hence we are not really seeing FDI to help push up the market Personally, I’ve gotten my fingers burnt investing in NSE. My portfolio is currently down 43% which is quite significant considering the amount I invested. If tables were turned. I would have just stayed in the money market were interest rate are fixed Even Axa Mansard is currently reporting a -5% decline on their equity funds. For me, safety of principal is paramount. I can’t work and now lose my investment. I’m fine with the 11-12% I currently seeing on T-bills I know it’s debatable that since inflation is currently hovering around same figure that net I’m not making much. However, my reason for investment is more for saving and safeguarding my principal pending when I have the time to fully retire and go into my own thing. It won’t be bad to also make some good interest while at it. Also there’s the 72 rule. (72/interest rate) gives u the average time in years to double your initial investment when compounding. So, you really need to be clear on why you are investing and possibly the end game too. My 2 cents Caveat: I’m not a financial adviser. I’m just some regular Joe that’s explaining things from my own perspective. Acidosis: |
It’s advisable not to post the amount in question in a faceless forum for security reasons That said, I will say both are almost the same but it’s dependent on you and some other reasons 1) T-bills gives you your interest upfront. Your 10million would give you about 1.2million upfront (going at 12% for 364 days). That upfront is available immediately to be re-invested in another T-bill there increasing your true yield ( Rate/(1-Rate)). You can also decide to use the interest for other investment purposes or even business. As for Mutual funds, your interest is not available immediately and it’s only compounded monthly or quarterly ( like Axa mansard). However, withholding tax will be taken from your interest 2) T-bill interest is free of charges like withholding tax ( currently 10%). However, the banks takes some minimal fees (storage fees or something like that) 3) Lastly and I would say this is the most important. T-bill rates are fixed while Mutual is floating. If you are sure the rates will go up in the nearest future, then Mutual is the way to go or a short tenor T-bill. However, if unsure, T-bill is better Personally, I tend to do T-bills for funds that I don’t need immediately while I keep mutual for funds that I can need anytime. Good thing about Axa, there’s no waiting period for crashing your mutual ( which could be a bad thing if you are not disciplined) Note: I don’t work for any investment house. theoptimist298: |
It means that the last primary auction date was June 20th and the next one will be July 4th. However, your funds needs to get to your back by Monday/Tuesday for you to partake in the bidding stated for Thursday. Would advise you work with Monday latest to avoid story that touch Also, on July 4th, FGN will be rolling over all it’s maturing Bills. The bills that would be rollover are broken into 91, 182 and 364 tenor with their corresponding amounts highlighted under each columns Hope that helps Deknight45: |

I’m only responding based on my own personal experience. Please note that I’m no professional I got like 7 of these doors in 2016/2017. They claimed they were turkey doors. Even bought it from a big time supplier in the popular Amu market in Lagos As I write, some are still very much okay why the bulk are not. I noticed the areas that had direct encounters with harsh weather are not ( the house plan is one where the roof is tilted to one part, hence a part doesn’t really have any form of roof shade) Issues experience Fading wooden part Handles become brittle and break Bulging from the wooden part areas There were even cases were the door just closing/locking. The locks stopped going into the door lock hole. This was even over 2 years after Installation. So I can’t call it a case of bad installation If I have to do it again, I would go for the one that has all metal finish and most importantly the one that has a base. Not sure it’s the right term but what I’m referring to as base is the door having a portion at the base of the door as against being opened. We had to build some elevated layer just before the door to close the gap between the door and the floor. We had issues of roaches and rain water entering the house through this area. I’m not sure there’s even an argument on which is better. They both have their pros and cons Some people are still in active paid employment and only move their savings to TBs. Not everyone has the time to run a biz. Also, we all can’t be Entrepreneurs. Some have the time but not the risk appetite Lastly, it’s about growing your stream of incomes. You can run a biz and still move your excesses to TB So do what works best for you. My 2cents oluayebenz: |
Was this ever resolved? Got one at hand |
pharaohmonch:It got in last week! I've not had the time to really drive it yet. Got some little fix and it's been difficult getting the body parts for the coupe. Spent the weekend at Ladipo and still no luck So, I had to get a panel to do the fix (work in progress). Overall, it's a madt machine. Great acceleration and handling. Quite "heavy" too unlike my previous and current cars. |
lancee:UBA and Access hardly ever enjoy bull runs like others. At least not in the last 1+ year that I've been monitoring. Still stuck too! Let's just leave it for GTB and Zenith abeg |
My earlier post is over 10 years now. I'm not sure if the information is still relevant. I do believe they would have changed the test format. For those looking for the the text book (that's if it's still relevant), kindly check the book stores along Ojuelegba road in Lagos. Unfortunately, I can't be off anymore assistance. Wishing you all the best |
With a good bank and also an equally good account officer, you literally don’t even need to step into the bank I just scan through my instructions after email correspondences |
cooldudeng:Please always do your DD before going into any investment vehicle My comment above is not a recommendation but based on my personal experience Also, Sterling bank has not come out to say they own it. However, attached is a survey I was sent after I exited my investment
