Sorry have been a bit silent on the trend, i must say it's not easy combining work with ACCA but God dey say. The exams is round the corner and i must say you guys should have completed like 60-70% of the syllabus if not all. I will also like to recommend a good text book for those without accounting background and having difficult in F3, Financial accounting made simple, Volume one (FAMS) by Robert Igben was a saviour and it helped regain my confindence.

Am just using this medium to pass this message across, and it's for does that made registration before it closed. I am sure your passcode would have been sent, just take the time to search your spam mail cos that was where i saw mine. So it's time for Exam registration. I think it's simple, Let the HND guys equip themselves with the right certification. Am not in support of those guys that go about discriminating but if am to look back at the number of times i wrote JAMB trying to get into school and how easy it was passing POLY JAMB, i will say the BSc no easy o!. So help stop the discrimination by equipping yourself with the right certification.

Coincidence it is. So tell me what are your future plans? Still looking biochem, i guess.By the way, what school did you finish from?

I work in Credit risk management, where we deal with all credit facility that the banks gives to its customers, there are other key places too like financial control, treasury, credit admin and etc. I just hate this popular belief that bank jobs ain't mind tasking, it all depends on your unit. By the way, am a science major. Read biochemisty. so how bout you?

I dont know what you do in your bank but am not in C & T, so am not a note counter. The unit i work in is behond that, i do more mind tasking jobs and please stop creating the impression that banks are just for morons. Anyway, we all have our career goals but i dont think you will be able to raise the money you will be needing for a foriegn certification, starting with science career. Let me let you in on a little secret, majority of scientist working in company are only doing routine jobs, the whole process is automated(or where and what did you do during Industrial attachement, was it mind tasking?). The only exemption i see is if you going into research and i bet you can't do that on your own. You'll be needing a lots of funds.

So tell me Zainab, a company that employs entry level scientist and put them in a mind tasking postion (excluding computer science). Get real Girlfriend, A hate to say this but we dont really have a science platform to grow here in this country.

It hurts at times, knowng i spent all those years learning stuffs that i might not use or that am not currently using but what can i say. This is the real world.

When is the course taking place and how much is it going to cost. Am pretty much interested, Holla back

I don't seem to understand what you are saying but if you meant payment for examintion fee, that as not commence what we were discussion was about Student registration. You have to be registered first before you can be allowed to pay and sit for the exam. Student registration as closed while exam fee as not commenced yet.

I haven't started Lectures yet, but i don't even know if it's going to be worth it afterall registering for one because i get to work on Saturdays most times while Sundays is for rest. I still haven't made up mind mind yet but have started reading for the exam and i think to be doing well on my own but if i face difficult on the way, i might to to register with a center but for now am still looking out a plan.

I Just thought I should contribute too cos I belong to this class

1. DESIRE. This is ta very important one of all. You need to want it before you could actually work towards it. The desire is very important. I know a lot of People back in school that just didn't care, so they never made it and it didn't border them. So simply put you need to want it first.

2.BELIEVE. This too is very key, you need to believe in yourself. I remember back then in school I kept telling myself that I can't fail(and I never did) with that aside you need to now ask yourself so what grade do I want.

3 PLAN. You can't leave this behind. Before the Semester commences, I use to write out all the courses I would be taking and I write a proposed Grade to it. I know some will be difficult so I tend to spend more time on them and spend less time on the ones I know am good at(but am not saying you should underestimate any course).

4 READING. You need to read, but don't just do this cos everyone one is doing it. You need to know yourself and what time you tend to assimilate better. For me the early morning was the thing, just waking up from bed, and the head is still clear

5 Competition. Engage yourself in a secret competition with the best in your class, understudy him or her and try to see what they do differently. This is important cos they are lots of courses out there and what works in science might not work completely in art.

6 STUDY GROUPS You need a group of good students to motivate you, this is key t cos at times we might just be lagging behind.

7[b]PRAYER[/b]. I'm actually saving the best for the last, I'll say this is the most most most important of all. You need God's Favour to get ahead. We all do so please don't leave this behind.

These are what worked for me, but you still need to take a little time to discover yourself to know what works

I suggest you make this decisoin yourself, believe me you are not alone. Am faced with the same opportunity too but i think am sticking with Zenith. The pay wasn't what i expected from KPMG when i was writing the test back in school. IF you want to stick to the financial world, i suggested you move to KPMG but like you said you want to be able to finance your masters in Engineering, means that you are not even planning on sticking to the financial world so i'D advice you stay with zenith for the time being. After you don become EA, things go begin look up and after JO don stone you PS like twice, my bro funding that  masters go be piece of cake, but that's if the money never blind u o!

A lot of people have met recommended Synergy but i have a friend that attends CBA Academy and i think the fee is like N42,000 for three papers. I believe the other lecture centres should be in that range.

Good to know that there is much activities on this trend. Anyway, just wanted to know if you guys made the registration so that we could move to the next stage which will be strategic planning on how to pass the exams in flying colours

I work in one of the top three banks but you need to give it to the GTb. That's the most customer friendly bank you'll ever get fro now. I don't get charged for COT and ATM charges though since am a staff but when you come to think of it i don't like to leave money in my staff account as well, cos every staff as access to what's in your account. So the best bet is to move it to my GTB account. Am not a marketer for GTB O!, but when it comes to customer services I'd suggest you bank with them, You won't regret it

Just like like Tai Solarin(May God rest is Soul) once said, this corruption won't stop until we kill everybody above the age of 5yrs. Tell me what's the possibility of that happening. It wont happen,  i believe the only way we can put a check on this corruption issue is if we made our Laws stricter. It's only in a lawless country that crime will strive, cos i strongly believe our country is lawless See the like of OBJ, Atiku, IBB etc. they still work our streets
