I believe I-invest is backed by Sterling bank. Did one T-bill investment with them when they started and it was swift The only reservation I have is that the interest earned is not upfront and even the rate on offer are also low So if you are re-investing my interest, I expect a higher interest rate than what is applicable in the market, hence it’s just some FD with a rate higher than the banks |
@HeavenlyBang I’m sure I must have missed something because if xylene cost 2k per litre (according to 9icetoo) and about 5litres is required for a 80lites mixture. The implication is that 10k of xylene would be required which is way more than Aunty Radu octane booster Again, I want to believe I’m not reading this right. Kindly clarify |
nwanneni:Thanks Readonee35L & Nwannemi, No be only me need premium fuel. There are lots of cars in Lagos that do. I also believe “premium” has a lot more to do with the octane rating. I think Nigeria is currently on 89 while the minimum premium starts from 91. If he too add, I go use octane booster! The gurus can jump in. As for the wallet, Na something must kill a man. Maybe I go just reduce the beer time (on a lighter note) However, it will be more of a weekend car. My crib to my office is pretty close, so the camry can continue that route. |
Thanks to this forum and @HeavenlyBang continuous post on the Infiniti G series I just secured a 2010 Infiniti G37 Coupe. I can't wait for the car to arrive in Nigeria I would have gone for the sedan but I kinda love the shape of the coupe better. Was actually shopping for a 2008 but landed a 2010 instead I know there are reservations around the type of fuel to use but we will be alright las las Can't believe I walked away from shopping for a Benz. Guess, I just wanted to be different! Any 2010 G37 coupe owner in the house? |
I Know there's been a long debate on this What happens when you bought T-bills at a low amount and then the prices go up. Does it make sense to sell and jump in again? Hope the gurus will help out Using real examples A 1million bought at 11.15% in August 16, 2018 for 364 primary market. Does it make sense to sell now? |
Chibuking81:So where are the opportunities. Which stock should one target for quick wins. Already took a massive hit on Access bank (being a learner that i'm ) |
In addition to the conditions listed, the size of the build should also be considered. |
Really clean car! Happy selling |
ajeleomo:Hope you also factored in the fact that you get *all* your "interest" upfront. So technically, a 13% TB, actually has an effective yield of 15% (r/(1-r)), if all the upfront interests are reinvested. However, some mutual funds, interest are also compounded either monthly or quarterly. Overall, it depends on the investor. A TB investor could want to preserve his/her principal while the bulk upfront interest is used to chase other opportunities. For Mutual, it might be the preferred route for a salary earner looking at cultivating a monthly saving habit |
How did you arrive at 12%? I don't believe Stanbic did that on the 364 tenured bill. Mine was like 11.15% from Stanbic for the same tenor mollie12: |
naijaobi:The rates are rather low Stanbic is doing 11.35% on 204 days |
ernie4life:Sir, using a 5 million example what will be the actual yield Some of us are pretty new to commercial paper Cheers |
It's very doable. |
Mpeace:Imagine being loaded on both. Those two are brothers. They just keep exchanging "baton". One will "rise" today and "fall" the next day while the other will "fall" today and "rise" the next day. Net, one is just close to the same spot. As a newbie that started again in December last year, i'm still learning but it's been an interesting one. However, Fidelity don show me. I'm just hoping i will covert the "private university" tuition to JAMB lesson with this bull ride if sustained. |
Nusah09:What's your investment goal. It's very important to have that clarity |
Egie4real:The going rate is influenced by interest rate Take for example, let’s assume I bought a bond 5 year bond at say 12% coupon rate. When interest rate goes up say from 200bps (+2%), this wold likely impact on other investment vehicle say T-bills and newly issued bonds making them have a higher yield or coupon rate. Hence, investors will shun existing bonds and a bond holder that’s willing to cash out will have to sell at a discount so the effective yield can be attractive. That’s the inverse relationship I was taking about. Oga awesomeJ can add a piece to this. Me sef na still learner |
Egie4real:Not exactly. If you read up the trend, you would see that for the short and mid-term bonds, they are sold at a premium in the secondary market e.g Feb 2020 being sold at over N100 per unit (about N105.04). The implication is that, if you were to invest 10million now, you will only get 95,201 units (10,000,000/105.04) and on maturity that will be 9,520,100 (looking at just the principal) as against the N10million invested. However, the coupon, being interest earned would have paid off for the loss on maturity. So net, you still would make a profit considering the subject bond has a coupon rate of 15.54% meaning that (95,201 * 15.54) N1,479,423.54 would be paid annually over a 2 year period. Also, based on the fact that the bond is even 3 months gone from issuance (issued March 2018), you won't have to wait 2 years but 21 months to get the aforementioned payment in full since the first interest as not even been paid and would only be due in August (6 months after issuance). Net you will get a total of cN12.5million from an investment of N10million Now do the maths for someone that actually bought at par (N100) and his planning on waiting till maturity. He would have earned more Please note that bonds are impacted my interest rate (inversely proportionate) and this risk is only eliminated when you wait till maturity. The Gurus in the house can confirm the above computation as this is based on my research. I never get the entry level money to do bond. |
awesomeJ:Thanks for taking a good stab at this! Finally got through to them and i was advised to focus more on the implied price and the coupon rate. Would still continue with my research to see ho the final figure was arrived at. Cheers |
akinola98:It varies with company. Afrinvest minimum is N20Million Please not that this is not a sales pitch as i do not have any relationship with them. Do your due diligence, i'm sure there will be other company that are willing to sell with a lower entry amount. You can as well start an investment club with your friends of like minds where funds are warehouse and invested as a lump sum. |
awesomeJ:Thanks! Would be looking forward to it. What is the offer % about? |
The below rate schedule was culled from an investment bank mail as at last week. It will be great if someone can help share more light on the below Bond Tenor (Years) Offer (%) Coupon Rate (%) Implied Price (N) Feb-20 2 12.50 15.54 104.55 Jul-21 3 13.40 14.50 102.71 Jan-22 4 13.35 16.39 108.57 Mar-24 6 13.40 14.20 103.11 Jan-26 8 13.30 12.50 96.18 Mar-27 9 13.40 16.29 114.64 Jul-34 16 13.20 12.15 93.01 Mar-36 18 13.25 12.40 94.19 Apr-37 19 13.20 16.25 121.01 Using the Feb - 20 bond as an example, I would like to really understand how the bond work Below is my basic understand and do correct me if I'm wring " This is a bond that must have been issued at a unit price of N100 on March 2018 (since tenor is 2 years) " Coupon rate is 15.54% meaning, N15.54 will be paid in a year per each unit held. This I believe will now be bi-annually at N7.77 with the first payment due in August ( 6 months after) " For one to buy into it now, you will have to buy at the implied price of N104.55 per unit, hence at a premium What then does the offer (%) mean? Are all my assumptions above correct? |
@ Smartfeek Kindly share the cost of setting up a bottle water production outfit. Please include the detailed list of machines and their respective costs Email is olakanmi80@gmail.com Thanks in anticipation Cheers |

currentprice:Thanks! Loading more already. |
currentprice:Any other recommendations? Loaded on ACCESS since December last year. The thing just they drag leg! Closely followed by this twin UBA. I beg help a brother out. Transcorp that I gambled with after seeing Loco don make money moves sef at 50% |
greatnaija01:Looking at it slightly differently. It’s looking more like Diversification. Staking $2000 at $100 per coin type would have delivered that total. Some over performed while some under-indexed. Net - Net you are way better off |
wx9Z:Waow @ 0.03 Decked and loaded. Patiently waiting for the pullback |

Stumbled on the first trend on New Year day and decided to take the risk of investing just 1 ETH bought from luno @ N288k in XRP (Ripple) via Binance as advised. I got about 367 XRP for about $1.96. In less than few days XRP is already above $3 ( $3.22 as at the time of this post). Close to 62% profit Margin if I decide to walk away as at now. The only regret I have was why I didn’t stake more. Also, saw your post last night on TRX. Was too lazy to jump on it because I was sleepy. Woke up this morning and I almost “died”. TRX had moved from $0.09 to $0.16. In one night! That’s about c80% in just a night. Don’t know what I can call it but I definitely following your post bumper to bumper. If trend keeps getting deleted please start a Whatsapp or Telegram group. Caveat for the Novice: This is not a buy or sell recommendation. Please note that crypto is a very volatile investment vehicle, hence the risk is high. Only play if you have “balls” of steel. |
