China is the worst of them. They should be rivaling USA in world stage of women's football because they are the pioneer power house then, but just fell off and never recovered. Same way with their distant friend Norway.
Seriously, I doubt they've ever been this bad.

Some people know how to read and think for themselves. U are trying to get sympathy points from nothing.
Really? I guess you are the only one who knows how to read and think. You that keep letting your support for the home league becloud your sense of judgment.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by CoolJulian:
BascoVanVeli:
Our league has better players than a lot of places they come from trust me. This is why players keep getting paid to play overseas. Osarenoma Igbinovia, Cecillia Nku and Ugo Njoku are still in the league.

Outside of Toni Payne and Michelle Alozie nobody has done anything that special. U are acting like the coach invited one or two players. The man has probably capped the most FB in history. Invited Alozie even as a training player and then we get to the college players. It is not a crime to wonder out loud about what is going on.
It's interesting that you mention those three players.. How much do you know about them? Osarenoma, who is very talented, after many years of playing in the league, has stalled, Cecelia Nku... What have you heard about her? Are younger players at her club not besting her? And Njoku... She moved to France a few years ago, but the club was not impressed with her, she had to come back. These players have not improved.

I don't know how knowledgeable you are about the women's league, you would have known that the players invited for the Summer series have been the best the home league has had to offer for sometime now, Randy worked with local coaches to have them selected. Those foreign based players are coming from serious footballing nations, and our league does not have better players( some local league players maybe more talented, but are undeveloped). Stating otherwise is preposterous.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by CoolJulian:
BascoVanVeli:
Derogatoryhuh Don't even go there abeg. The man has a right to defend his league. He never questioned them being Nigerian, he is questioning so many of them getting selected over players in the league.

If I were Waldrum I would always keep in contact with that guy and Okon because those two have the best eye for talent. Without Okon Oshoala would still be a defensive midfielder. U can say he was wrong but it is definitely debatable. Players leaving the NWFL never need time to settle in abroad. That should tell you the level of our league.
He definitely has the right to defend his league, but he can only "defend," and that's good enough. He will never be able to influence the coach to select his players- the coach only wants the best players to play for Nigeria cos he's a visionary coach; he will select the best, whether they play for college teams or not.

You mean players leaving the NWFL don't struggle? Check the leagues they play, after which we'll discuss. Mention the ones who go to serious leagues and cope just fine in recent times. Even Oshoala and Ajibade still had a lot to learn to be able to integrate.

I guess he was talking about Nicole Payne and Esther Okoronkwo. I think they are going to be top players for us in the future but like I said from the beginning that man has a right to say how he feels.
They play in college, so? Which of the home based players we watched were better than them?
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by CoolJulian: 7:48am On Jul 23, 2021
AkinDS:
Yes, he is.
He sees the FB ladies as a threat to his production line and livelihood, and cannot process the fact that they are Nigerians too. That is discrimination and its against the bylaws of Nigeria.
The problem is those at home always feel threatened by those in diaspora. Instead of him seeing the FB ladies as an opportunity to improve the overall standing of the SF and therefore, increasing the profile of the HB in the SF, he sees them as a threat to HB in the SF, as if the HB players have a singular monopoly on the players in the SF.
He is too myopic to comprehend that the FB players will force the HB players to improve tactically and strategically, which will enhance the overall visibility of HB players for those foreign clubs who will be attracted to and recruit them.
So he supposedly 'discovered' Oshoala. So what? He will certainly NOT be the first and last manager to do so. Besides, after all these years of supposedly 'discovering' players, he can only point to 3 that have made the 'jump off' and maybe one on the cusp... Oshoala, Ajibade, Okeke and Gift Monday. That is indeed a poor record and its obvious he has been slacking a bit in his 'discovering duties'.
His argument is the same old BS we hear from locals who want their wards in the NT, regardless of how unprepared they are, at the expense of better and more tactically sound players, who are foreign based. That's why the country is currently mired in mediocrity and resists at all costs, any opportunity to use available resources wherever to improve and enhance the country.
You are so on point! I'm really surprised that some people back him. I'd really like them to mention the foreign based players who should be excused for home players... Super Falcons has to compete with serious footballing nations, and as such, any player who would improve the team is welcomed by me.

Invitation Of Players Of Nigerian Descent To Super Falcons Will Kill NWFL - FC Robo Chairman

Chairman and coach of FC Robo, Emmanuel Osahon has criticised the invitation of foreign born players to super falcons.

Osahon who spoke to exclusivenews.com.ng in Abuja right after his team secured a place in the final of the 2021 AITEO Cup, said the sudden invitation of players of Nigerian descent to super Falcons will kill the growth of the game and will lead to exodus of players to foreign club before they are even ready for such stage.

'I am not happy, honestly, it is like they are trying to derail the course of NWFL, Nigeria Women Football League. In recent times NWFL has produced star players for the national teams'

'Four-time Africa's best is a product of NWFL and many other players but you are abandoning those players for some girls in the college because they signify interest to play for Nigeria at the detriment of locally grown players, then there is a problem'

Randy Waldrum has invited over 15 players born outside the shores of the country to the national team since his appointment with four new players expected to be capped in Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament in September.

Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, South Africa, Morocco and Nigeria as the host country have been confirmed for the tournament while invitation has also been extended to Argentina and Romania

The super falcons are already camping in Austria in preparation for Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament slated for Lagos,Nigeria
These people are not serious, I swear, they're selfish! So, they just want any so called home based player to be called up at the expense of better players based elsewhere?... These home based players, are they of a higher quality than the foreign based we've seen?... Okay, I guess they are, because we've watched them and seen all they've had to offer!... I guess all there is to grow the home league is pick home based players, neglecting the growth of our Super Falcons.

Does this coach not know that the best players in the league have been continually leaving to better leagues?.. Maybe I did not know that they all love the home league so much that they avoid leaving to better foreign leagues. The home league used to produce a good number of real quality players in the past, but that is not the case now because the game is growing really fast, but the league is not improving.

The league is not decently managed, the coaches are poor; they give these girls poor football education, making it difficult for them to grow to their potentials(often stalling their growth altogether), compete with their foreign counterparts... These days, how many of these girls can leave this league to one of the top leagues and comfortably win a regular shirt? Infact, they need to move to better leagues to hone their skills. This coach should shut up and upgrade!

Pretty sure if she had been in one of the big schools (Women's football powerhouses), she would probably have become a finalist for the MAC Hermann trophy.
Not saying she isn't good. She is. Just that she is not at the necessary level yet and needs some additional grooming for international football.
Comparatively, I liked Vivian Ikechukwu's approach to the game but growth and potential wise, Esther might have the edge. Ideally, I would like to have both.
The Esther Okoronkwo I saw is better than Vivian Ikechukwu.

From 2006 AWCON to 2010
Africa women football faced such challenges with E/Guinea Fielding both player's then, they were finally dropped from the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany which also speaks volume that they were possibly men..

But I was shocked to see Salimata Simpore play for Dinamo Minsk FC of Belarus through out last season...

Salimata Simpore Played for Burkina Faso the year 2016, I wonder how CAF operate sef!
Even Equatorial Guinea Captain Genoveva Anonman faced the same charges but was later cleared after Series of Check...

From the 1st pics, the no.5 is Bilguisa Simpore who played Center Back for E/Guinea then, while her sister no.8 Salimata is a Striker
I used to watch that Genoveva, and kept wondering how she could possibly be a woman. Playing them against women was really bad!

AkinDS:
Agree.
This brings back memories of the Simpores from E.G.
We heard the same controversy about them being cleared by CAF to play, only for the matter to be escalated to FIFA and CAF and they got banned.
Something just doesn't seem right...
I don't think they should be allowed to play, they will definitely have undue advantage.

The USWNT are just too funny, no difference between them and the English fans, see the way they're raining insults on the players just because they lost..
Losing to Sweden isn't a big deal..

Sweden have always giving the US a tough time, the recent friendly game they played against the Swedish side few months ago which ended ( 1-1 ) reveal a lot about how strong the Swedish side would be at the Olympic....

Right now, all Vladko need is to get his Selection right especially from the Midfield to the Attack, he needs to know his best 3 that can deliver not what I watch them play against the Swedish side who are very quick, Physical and Experience...

If I were to be Vladko, against the next opponent I would retain same defence line, Julie Ertz, Sam Mewis and Rose Lavelle would play the Midfield then Horan and K Mewis would come in as sub..
Play Press on the Left, Lloyd center and Heath on the right hand side
Why I would bring in Rapinoe for Heath at 60/65'min because she isn't fit yet, then move press to the right
Morgan can come in for Lloyd later on...

Sweden Defence also did a great job even with the absence of Sambrant and Nilla Fischer at Center Back...
Sweden has always been their match.

Are you telling me u are ok with the many atrocities that is going on in the country? The killings, marginalization and nepotism? Do u even know the level of anger in the land. These players can also help the poor masses back home to voice out their displeasures at the attitude of the Buhari-led government toward the indigenous people in Nigeria. Ain't you ashamed of what is going on? Is it Until it gets to your doorsteps before u speak out? Black mentally. Annoying arguments! Useless!!! A mentally deranged man went to assault players and some people have the nerve to support him?... I would have expected him to come and meet buhari and tell him those exact words... Staying abroad and shouting corruption is their new anthem, this same "abroad" people, many of whom are destroying the image of Nigeria, easily act as though they are perfect, woke, home based Nigerians are bad.

Athough, not everyone comments regularly here, a lot of such people are committed to this thread ; this trend is seriously annoying. Please, take your politics elsewhere!

Nairaland GeneralRe: Help!!! How Do I Gain Respect From People by CoolJulian: 11:53pm On Jul 17, 2021
Stupidquestions:
These are tips I apply to myself.

1. Be self reliant.: Never give impression that you can't exist alone or catch fun without your friends, and learn to take care of yourself without depending on people. If u are fond of borrowing..reduce it, and work hard to earn a living.
.
2. Work on your interest: Get busy, and work on personal goal towards achievement. When u achieve something unexpected, people respect u.
.
3. Talk less of your secret and plans: Don't reveal everything about yourself or what u are working on. See finish dey cause disrespect. And when u tell people abt ur goals, and if u later dint achieve it, people will see u as irresponsible and lazy...people don't respect such people. Keep ur plans to yasef
.
4. Don't discuss certain embarrassing moments u had in the past. Some people will judge u by it.
.
5. Appear neat all the time, and exude confidence, and also carry yourself with some sense of pride....little pride won't kill you.
.
6. Don't always please people. Yes we like to act nice and be on good books of people...but over time people take u for granted. Sometimes don't give people what they ask for. Don't act nice when they are shit...
.
7. Don't condone disrespect. Always call out the bullshit of anyone anywhere..don't make it like a joke... treat the Bleep up of people instantly.
.
8. Reduce ur frequency of laughter with people. Don't laugh to every joke and with everybody
.
9 Reduce your greetings. Yes some people want u to greet them all the time just to feel themselves. Sometimes, learn to bone/ snub people, and face ur front like someone serious without looking sideways. if they greet u fine...and if they don't, it's not all the time u have to greet.
.
10. Reduce ur argument and charter when u don't have something reasonable to say especially with people of low mind...
.
11...Then get a girlfriend if u don't have. Guys also respect u when ladies come around to fvvck u or come around as ur babe grin

12. Get a job and your personal apartment if you don't have. It will help to project you as a serious responsible perosn
11 is not really a condition, otherwise, excellent!
