Gucciboss:I expect (at present state), one of failure. Yes. I read the document. |
Saudi Arabia now has a dream dubbed: Vision 2030. https://www.google.com.ng/url?q=http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-38951539&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwijgKjl2bzZAhXN_qQKHcXYBiMQFjACegQICBAB&usg=AOvVaw1gRWNix0SuQxRIVYsZMKeE https://www.google.com.ng/url?q=http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-41740626&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwijgKjl2bzZAhXN_qQKHcXYBiMQFjAFegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw2AWiUNufgCnhjpyX3GeUO4 Reminds me of how a certain Asian State stole a Nigerian dream, and flew with it. |
UbanmeUdie:We both know there was. It wasn't perfect (God knows). Still, it gave us a sense of purpose, and a date with destiny: come year 2020, we would give account. |
Once upon a time, we had a dream, about a dream... We were almost there. Officially, the Giant of Africa, ranked 22nd largest economy in the World by IMF (as at 2015) and rising, fast. With some analyst forecasting upwards of mid-teen position by 2025. The news shook the pillars of Africa; made Egyptians shrivel in shock and South Africans red with envy. The sheer audacity of our ambition unleashed a silent political tsunami - the likes of which was last seen when a powerful Chinese wave, swept across Asia, Europe and the Americas. 'Here was a Black Nation that dared to dream, big!' What next? They shuddered; Vision 10:2030? Vision 1:2050? Vision Superpower! I know this sounds fantastically unreal, considering the sh!thole we currently swim in. But there was a time, not too long ago, when all hope was not lost. The announcement of our GDP on the 6th of April, 2014, made me swell with pride. I made sure to stick-it to my Ghanaian and South African friends. Of course, we bullied our African neighbours into submission with our enormous human and natural resources. Who gives a S**t. The vultures yapped (as was expected): Numbers on paper, meaningless to the common man. I vividly remember (our very own) financial analyst, Bismarck Rewane calling it "vanity", He added that the rebasing of the Nation's GDP "changes nothing". In secret, the critics danced in joy. Shhhhh. Then we fell into a Hole. Suddenly, (suddenly) APC and Chanji Happened! The single greatest catastrophe to befall a Nation, since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Our vision, hopes and dreams went pufffff. Recent estimates from IMF ranks Nigeria's GDP for year 2017 at 30th, behind Egypt, soon to be overtaken by South Africa. Again. #palm-to-face# Not to alarm you with technical gibberish, the simple fact is, Nigeria is sinking, fast. Yes. I gerrit. PDP feasted on Nigeria for 16 years; OBJ, GEJ, Atiku, Dansuki, Deziani and Dame held the largest spoons. And Ngozi washed the plates. And ummm, Oil prices tumbled overnight. #SMH# Let's be clear. PDP stabbed this country (many, many times), but APC is twisting the knife. PMB is hapless and helpless. Nigerians are gutless (but not as powerless as we think)! Bloodied but unbowed. We have fallen on hard times. Times that have made the slow march of progress, even slower. Yet, in a recession (that we have technically left), Nigerians' resilience has continued to drag her economy forward. A lumbering giant that refuse to succumb to its wounds. The Napoleon of crooks. Pa Obasanjo (Ph.D) for all his flaws (I doubt the entire host of angels could wash his robe clean), left us with this sweet dream; Yar'Adua lit it; Jonathan fanned it; Now, Buhari must not let it extinguish. Call him snake, monkey, even snake in the monkey's shadow; but you can never deny OBJ's wit. Our African tortoise of fables. His cunning is legendary (if in doubt ask IBB, Atiku, GEJ and PMB) and so was his understanding of 'the power of hope'. Serpent with the silver tongue. Call to Action. Dear Citizens, we must awaken from our slumber. Get our PVC. Join the right political movements. Become passionate about saving these country. Elect visionary leaders (with at least above average IQ). Come, Election Day 2019, seize this country from Ruthless Cabals, Sinister Oppositions and Gathering Dark Forces. I know there are still fools like me, who believe this Nation can uplift the black race. And become a beacon of hope for Africa - our very own Wakanda Republic. Never, ever, ever give in. For all is lost, when hope is gone.

Hmmmm.... Wanted to make a meaningful comment about how Christianity and Islam are so alike; even give a blow-by-blow dissertation on the fact that we serve the same God / Allah, but in different ways. Until I clicked reply, saw the silly oath, got pissed and forgot all my points.

Ok. I've sent you an email. |
ChukzMeansBiz:Hi Chuks. Nice write-up. I'm interested in what you have to offer, but the location (Delta State) is far from where I currently reside (Lagos). |
This Story is Incomplete... |
Omobolajiatanda:It's definitely Suicide. Although there are several signs that would mislead even the most meticulous detective to conclude it's murder, including the mess in the office, the forced entry through the window and the supposedly escaping suspect. But the facts are this: 1. The victim is right handed, as can be deduced from the location of his pen on the desk. it lends credence to the fact that the gun fell to his right, and blood splattered at the wall to his left. False scenario: - intruder came in through the window on the left, the victim didn't hear a single sound from the window that was violently forced open. He remained seated, while the killer strolled to his right hand side, placed a gun close to his temple (obvious from the blood spatter that the gun was fired at very close range) and shot him while he sat still. Yes doesn't make sense that a man in his prime will go down without a fight. 2. He is in a comfortable sitting position. you would assume that any suspected killer smart enough to put his victim in such a posture, is also intelligent enough to know he has to clean up the mess around the office to eliminate suspicion. 3. This is not a physical evidence, bit psychology will tell you that he had a very rough day - folded the arm of his shirt, loosened his tie. Probably lost something dear to him - including his pride. Likely made the mess in his office himself. So many other reasons I can give, I just don tire to dey type.... manage this one. |
Munae: ![]() I know you're being sarcastic. Just to set the record straight: A lady is never a conquest, a trophy or a prize. She is our Mother. Our Sister. Our Lover. Our Soul Provider. The Guy is just plain stupid. But I don't really blame him. He is a product of a morally decayed society (same as me). I blame my-curious-self and others like me, for clicking on this topic / page and giving him the exact thing he desperately craves - Attention. |
Why can't people give without announcing it to the world?! |
Hmmm... |
Naaah... Save for the two (sublime) goals, his performance was average. He gave away the ball far too easily, far too many times. Mine is the magnificent Iheanacho. Mehn, that guy (almost single-handedly) brought us back from the dead. I hope this performance inspires him to up his game at Leicester. kudos to them all for making my day. |

Jonathan said this. Jonathan did that. Blaady liars. As if dem be Jonathan shadow, abi na him confidante. This is begin to piss me off. Seems the author has a media centre in Nairaland that are bombarding the forum with lies to ensure the book sells. |
Dooo pretty young girl. But next time when you tell the story, try to be completely honest, no be everybody be johnboo. The truth should include the fact that "You and your cousin have been bleeping." All the jealousy and rage that young man felt usually comes from heartbreak. You probably vowed to love him forever, only to stab him at the gut with your impending nuptials. You are lucky, he may have planned to kill you, then himself. |
Interesting... This is more a business section material. Cool write up though. |
Am I the only one that noticed the bump. Oga well done Oo. You done score goal baah? Isoarite. |
