Politics / Re: See Why Buharis Asset Declaration Is A Deception by coolkaboom(m): 9:08pm On Sep 04, 2015
#OperationDeclareuUrAssetPublicly

Since the president and commander-in-Chief and the Vice president have publicly declared their assets, it becomes a necessity for me too as a true Nigerian to do so. My declaration goes thus:

* 4 pairs of Suits (2 black, 1 Navy blue and 1 grey colour)
*3 pairs of navy blue jeans, 2 black jeans and 1 nicker bugger
*12 designer shirts, 2 black trousers and 1 ash coloured trouser, 12 boxer shorts, 6 pairs of black socks
*1 Agbada and one Abetiaja cap
* Several Yoruba bentigo caps from egbejoda/semo tinz,
* 2nos chelsea FC jerseys (old) UP Blues
*several fitness training kit (still brand new due to laziness)
*several kangol /face caps and 3 pairs of jogging trainers
*One each of a 5kva deisel gen (unserviceble) and "I pass my neighbour" Tiger generator.
*Two 25litres of petrol in case of fuel scarcity or further subsidy removal.
*1 peugeot 505 salon car and kombi bus (fedeco) that have seen better days, 1 boxer motorcycle, 1 keke napep
*Some serubawon juju charms, in case there is need for emergency disappearance
*5 pairs of sacommended (JIGI) glasses for packaging and to also prevent pepper from my eyes because some people spit a lot when they talk and above all
*#7500.00 in my GTBank account. and #5120 in my fcmb account not to talk of #1264:72k in my Savanna Bank account, and #470,089.19 in my RSA with AIICO pension

May God help us to serve Nigeria well. If you have not declared yours, pls do so immediately as a good Nigerian.

jibbish:

If you are not notified monthly, aw do u know if they have paid or not. I will repeat again. The pension company takes the blame cos if you extract from A,you must also extract from B.its a law and must be monitored.
why are u waiting to be notified..this is 2015. your PFA's website has a client interface where you can independently view, download and print your statements at will (even daily). information dey ur fingertips, you still dey find wetin no lost? Besides...simply sending an email to 'info@xyzpensions.com (any pfa)' will have your statement delivered to your box within minutes.

Ur pension fund administrator takes the blame. They are to make sure that the company plays its part as u play urs
u r very wrong. At best, d individual staff members r responsible for allowing their employer short-change them by a conspiracy of silence / cooperation. When u get ur statement and it reveals short-funding / nil funding..never keep quiet. There are enough remote discrete whistle-blowing channels for escalating dubious HR/admin managers who surpress remittances. Its ur money and ur future, take active control and guard it zealously.

kamez:
having a pension plan in NIgeria is a total waste of time. and I'm speaking from experience .

my mum retired as a senior lecturer and HOD of French dept in a federal university in the east in 2010.
she actually opened a pension fund in 1993.

after she retired, she kept on travelling with documents up and down just to get her pension from FBN until she died in 2013.

up till now we ve not received a dime from this same people even after submitting all the documents.

almost 10 million naira just disappeared with the wind.

my advice: invest ur pension savings into real estate. instead of the yeye pension. fund
its not possible, PFAs didn't come on stream till after the PRA in 2004. Its likely u don't hav all d facts or u r just being mischevious.

Investment / Re: Real Estate Or Shares: Which Is Better? by coolkaboom(m): 9:41am On Mar 02, 2013
The tricky thing abt stocks is that for it to be truly profitable, one must actively keep at it and re-evaluate those decisions periodically. In d days of old, our folks used to buy shares, keep the certs in files in dusty old cupboards and since d markets weren't so volatile, it probably worked for them. In todayks market, that's a recipe for disaster. Investment decisions must be without sentiments and focused mainly on the profitability (at least from a small-time individuals perspective). A healthy portfolio mix is the best solution to maximise the pros and minimise te cons. When u take a few hits and lose money in stocks, plug d hole and divert attn to those that are fairly more consistent in their yield. real estate investment is also safe, depending on the motives. This also needs to be properly evaluated in light of the motive for investment. My background is estate mgt and I have seen way too many people stuck wt useless contraptions wt no exit strategies because of archaic social-cultural biases. If its not making money, it aint making sense, period.

Its just been confirmed that the recruitment excercise is actually for airtel. They are strategically relocating their call-center operations to ibadan and abeokuta. The slots for the other language skills were filled instantly but there wasn't a great nos of hausa speaking prospects at the screening. 1500 slots to be filled and they have less than 200 pressently, go figure. For more details, call gbenga on 08057858403.

@jamace, that's precisely d point, FG alone can't fund d old pension scheme alone. Its not until the scheme is declared bankrupt that Govt will now raise alarm. People get on the old innefficient pension scheme and join a never ending queue of already frustrated ppl.
