Music/Radio / Re: Are Ladies Respected In Nigerian Music Videos? by coolruler(m): 1:00pm On May 12, 2013
Dis bootie thing sef don tire me. I think its so boring when musical videos have nothing sensible to teach except hips, thighs and booties. The artistes know that they are very weak lyrically, so they compensate by showing us a lot of bouncing booties(yanyan et al,), hoping we wouldn't notice. This is why I would take oritsefemi's "better remix" over wande coal's "kick" any day.

Politics / Re: Hunters Burn Down School In Saki, Oyo State by coolruler(m): 2:52pm On Jan 06, 2013
@OP
I think we are losing sight of an important fact here. These people has an ongoing border dispute that's yet to be resolved. Taking this desperate act shows that they have totally lost faith in the ability of the Nigerian state to dispense justice, hence their descent into jungle justice and anarchy. Remember Umuleri and Aguleri in Anambra State? It started just like this. The govt shd be involved and be seen to be involved in the peaceful resolution of this conflict. Otherwise the communities may feel they have to go to war to settle their differences.
Religion / Re: Religion And Doubts- We Are All Athiests by coolruler(m): 12:36pm On May 31, 2012
@OP
Thank you for the thoughtful post. I believe its only human to have doubts from time to time. i do have doubts myself.
For example; Who determined Dec 25 to be the Birthday of Jesus despite all evidence to the contrary? and why would God curse Adam and Eve when he did not create them infallible in the first place?
also, did God ever intend them to know the difference between good and evil?
The only thing Adam ever did wrong was reaching out for knowledge, or experimenting with the forbidden. When did that become such a grievous sin?
So many questions
Religion / Re: Final Dagger To The virgin birth Crap by coolruler(m): 5:28pm On May 30, 2012
I got a question.
If Jesus is begotten without Joseph's involvement, why then is Joseph's lineage given as the father? Methinks's only Mary's lineage would have been sufficient.

And how come Mary is suddenly declared free of original sin(if there's anything like that).? On what basis?

Just wondering...
Religion / Re: Christians:What Fruit Did Adam And Eve Eat Inside The Garden Of Eden? by coolruler(m): 5:16pm On May 30, 2012
@OP
I believe the whole "apple" thing is a metaphor. It could mean that Adam reached out for knowledge, tried to change his circumstance, experimented with the forbidden. That is what the whole "eating the apple" thing is about. Remember the story of the Greek individual who stole "fire" from the gods and gave it to mankind? The "fire" in this case is a metaphor for "knowledge". See?

Btw, I don't believe the whole "adam and eve" crap. Its just a creation story, same as hundreds of other creation stories of other tribes.
Religion / Who Are We Celebrating On Dec 25th? by coolruler(m): 3:38pm On May 03, 2012
December 25th is not the birthday of Jesus. The Bible certainly did not say so, and research has definitely disproved it.
So, if Jesus was not born on Dec 25th, who then are we celebrating and what other lies have we believed?
Family / Re: Sex: Matters Arising by coolruler(m): 4:55pm On Feb 24, 2012
Besides, in sex, the hype is much more than the reality. A man that knows his onions will generally satisfy his woman within one or two rounds of sex.

Don't believe what all those "studs" say. grin You will be suprised if you know the truth.

Its the technique that matters, and wether your partner is satisfied at the end.

Peace.
Family / Re: Teenagers 'desperate' For A Baby by coolruler(m): 4:41pm On Feb 24, 2012
This can only happen in a society where family values have totally collapsed. Teenagers giving birth to children who in turn grow up to become teenage mothers. No family/society control whatsoever.

What! a 14 year old, talking about having babies? WTF! she's no more than a child herself.

There's no talk of going to school, no talk of growing up and being useful to her society, just a crazy desperation to perpetuate the cycle of poverty and hopelessness.

What a pity.
Family / Re: Should Teenagers Wear High Heels? by coolruler(m): 4:26pm On Feb 24, 2012

They are not mini-adults. So why the rush to introduce them to spikes? Methinks there's time enough for that in future.
Religion / First Fruit - What Is The Correct Meaning Please? by coolruler(m): 3:13pm On Feb 24, 2012
Will somebody please tell me the correct and acceptable meaning of First Fruit?

My former Pastor said its my entire first income (or salary) in a New Year, new business, e.t.c while my new Pastor (I recently relocated to another area of Lagos) would have it as the difference between my old income and new income for the New Year.

Pls, which of them is correct? and how can I apply the rule to a Contractor like myself with non-steady income?

Thank you.
Family / Should Teenagers Wear High Heels? by coolruler(m): 2:52pm On Feb 24, 2012
I attended a friend's birthday party recently.
I noticed girls, some as young as 13, fumbling around on heels and looking very uncomfortable. it was so pathetic.

Seriously though, should mothers buy high heels for their teenage daughters?

Thank you again guys. as per d cheating issue have hands off it cos i believe with d encouragment i'm gettin from here I CAN MAKE IT WORK smiley

@OP
I really sympathise with you.
If your husband did not touch you for two years as you said, then I believe the problem goes much deeper than erectile disfunction. A man will only perform if his mind is involved with the partner at that moment. If, for any reason his mind is not there, he will not be responsive no matter what you do. It must be that he has a problem (physical or spiritual) with you specifically.
That being said, I do not think you made his mother aware of the gravity of the situation. What, her son making you roast for two years and all she will recommend is herbs? Really!!
See, you need to stop begging for his affection and waiting for him to look your way. You are his wife forGod's sake. He stood before God and the whole world and swore to take good care of you. So, stop whining and start behaving like a wife.
Talk to him again, and if his "ego" still will not allow him listen, go tell his family and really lay it out for them. Let them know what their son is doing to you, his family, and his marriage. So, if he has anything against you or his marriage, it will all come out.
Remember, if you want peace, you must be prepared to go to war.

It really happened, it was all over the net years ago. Nic Sarcozy was starring at the bootie while B.Obama shifted to let her pass through, just a glance at the butt/shoes i suppose. lmao. No matter what you say, i still looks BAD.

Bad? Its natural! Barry boy and Nic are just being guys.
Take that picture anywhere, any average guy will zero in on that booty first, even before seeing Barry and Nick.

By the way, have you watched that Will Smith movie "Enemy of the State"? There was this scene where he went to a lingerie store. He was speaking with an attendant when a model (wearing lingeries only) walked past.

Did you see his reaction? That was my reaction too (I must have replayed that scene like ten times over, just to watch that booty roll). grin

Ladies stare at dudes' zippers? REALLLY? I never noticed. i always thought women are way too "righteous" for that sort of thing(as they would have us believe).

No wonder, some days ago, a lady came down at a bus stop, stood in front of the bus conductor and started searching in her handbag for money. She searched and searched for quite a while.
Now I know she was busy checking out the guy's "thing". grin

Meanwhile, us guys in the bus were also checking out her backside grin grin grin
Family / I Need To Beat Up My Inlaw. by coolruler(m): 9:08am On Nov 04, 2011
I have a Brother In law, he's married to my younger sister. The marriage is about 4 years old now.
What we (her family) didn't know was that he has been in the habit of assaulting her for a long time. She did not tell us anything and also swore her friend to silence.

What fortunately let the cat out of the bag was that, they had an argument last month, and he beat her so bad that she ended up in the hospital with multiple injuries. She was forced to tell us the whole horrid story.

Right now, I have three guys lined up, all ready to beat him within an inch of his rotten life. He will feel PAIN, let me tell you. The elders in the family want to call him for a family meeting, no problem.

Let them do their thing and let me do my thing abi?

You may find it hard to believe, but its not a lie. This is a family am very close to. The guys job takes him out of Lagos frequently and the wife feels she should stay with her parents so as not to feel too lonely. Of course nobody can blame her.
When the children started coming, the inlaws just sort of became the "other" parents.
Anytime the guy complains, the wife would tell him how ungrateful he is for not appreciating such good inlaws. Before the situation degenerated to this stage, we(the friends) called them and advised them, but what do you do when the wife sees absolutely nothing wrong in what's going on?

A poster said to put his foot down. You can only put your foot down when you are around to keep the foot down. When his job calls, won't he travel?
Romance / Why Do Men Check Out Ladies' Asses? by coolruler(m): 2:11pm On Nov 02, 2011
Alright, guilty as charged grin

I was in a queue about to enter a bank sometimes last week. A lady came out, pretty, fair complectioned, wearing a fitted short gown, great body, fantastic legs.
As she walked past, all of us guys turned round to have a better look and enjoy her "back view". grin

You also notice that all over the world, anytime a beautiful woman passes, guys turn around to check out her ass.

Seriously, why do we men do it?

Religion / Why Are We Really On Earth? by coolruler(m): 2:21pm On Oct 31, 2011
The Holy Bible (and Holy Quoran) have us believe that God created Man in His own image and put us here on Earth. The Bible also tells us God created Satan, who rebelled and was driven out of Heaven to Earth.
We also know that Satan has his kingdom on Earth while God has His Kingdom in Heaven and Human Beings are caught in the middle.
We know too that there is unfinished business between the two Entities(God and Satan), and they are busy conscripting human beings into their respective kingdoms.

My question is are we really here because God wants an audience for His ultimate showdown with Satan at the final battle?
or we are here so we can serve as conscripts for the two armies?

Note that when you really think about it, there was no pressing need for God to create Human Beings. He was perfectly ok where He was in Heaven.
Family / Help! Inlaws Are Killing His Marriage by coolruler(m): 1:54pm On Oct 31, 2011
Hi people
I'm writing to seek advice so my friends' marriage will not die.
Tayo has been my friend since childhood. We do everything together -in fact, I was responsible for him meeting the girl he eventually married three years ago. They have two children now.
The problem is that his inlaws meddle too much in his home. They just will not leave his family alone. It started right after the wedding, when his mother in law will call his wife (her daughter) around 10pm wanting to know wether she has eaten yet! That is not all, she wants to know how much he gives her for housekeeping, how does he treat her, wether he demands for sex too much, etc etc. all these within the first six month of marriage.
What makes the situation more painful is that they (inlaws) live right here in Lagos. So they drop in anyhow(esp the MIL) while his own family is far away in Ondo State.
As i said, they have two kids, but it is the name the Inlaws gave those children that everybody calls them(including the wife). Nobody calls them by the name their own father gave them.
He doesn't get to spend much time with the children as the inlaws demand their presence every weekend. In fact, before taking his own children to greet his own family in Ondo State, he had to obtain permission from his inlaws! Yes, its that bad.
He has complained, appealed, protested, tried everything, all to no avail. They said he's just making unnecesary noise, he should thank his lucky stars he has such loving inlaws e.t.c He invited his parents to talk to the inlaws, he ended up being made to look ungrateful.

Now, Tayo is fed up. He told me he feels its better to be a King in Hell than a servant in Heaven. Since he cannot be a man in his own house, he will quietly pack some few things and move far away. Let the inlaws have it all.

Please advise, how is he going to get his family back?
Family / Re: She Wants Me To Give Up Beer by coolruler(m): 1:11pm On Oct 31, 2011
@Richvkunt,
No, I do not and have never drank to intoxication. Two bottles of Heineken is what I permit myself and that is what I enjoy. I'm trying my best to be a model husband, but she's not making it easy.
i think she's further pissed because I admitted to her Pastor that Yes, I do enjoy my Beer. I guess she sees that as meaning she cannot control her home.
All am asking is the freedom to kill one or two bottles of beer when I feel the urge. Surely that is not too much to ask?
Why is she taking it so personal?

@chaircover
Thank you. I suggested substituting with wine, but she wants to choose the type. This is what am totally against. I'm not going to lose my freedom to choose whats best for me, marriage or not.
Come to think of it, I've never given her any grief for her love for shopping. Why should I? its what makes her happy. So, why won't she just leave me alone?
Family / She Wants Me To Give Up Beer by coolruler(m): 6:36pm On Oct 30, 2011
I got married to the love of my life, about six months ago and I thought I would finally settle down to a life of marital bliss.
There's a little problem however, my wife wants me to give up Beer.
I enjoy my Heineken as much as the next guy, and she was totally cool with it during our courtship. After our wedding however, its either I choose Heineken or I choose Her. One has to go.

This is very unfair. I never asked her to stop being a woman, why should she want me to stop being a man? Heineken is one of the little freedoms I have left. If I give it up, what happens to me? Would I be happy? Would I be fulfilled? won't I forever nurse a grudge?
I've tried appealing, reasoning with her all to no avail. As it is, I'm not ready to stop drinking Beer yet, at least not on her say so.

She complained to her Pastor who secretly advised me to negotiate with her.
So, what do you think? Should I negotiate?
Romance / Re: How To Know If Your Girlfriend Is Cheating On You by coolruler(m): 2:43pm On Oct 26, 2011
Dude,
I think the question you should ask yourself is this; "Is she worth my while??" If she's really worth your while, then you can take the time, and the patience to sort things out with her.

If you decide she's not worth it however, I say kick her to the curb and move on.

Thanx for your answer, but that last part still has me tied up in knots.
Im allowed to defend myself if attacked, but offence is not part of my defence right?
Ok. What if a religious fanatic got me in his gunsights, and is about to bring me down? If I get ahold of my shotgun first and blast him to kingdom come, then joined up with a few brothers to go thru the neighbourhood cleaning out the f, kers, have I crossed the line?
Religion / Turn The Other Cheek- What Does It Mean? by coolruler(m): 1:57pm On Aug 25, 2009
Hi y'all
My confusion stems from Jesus' statement where he exhorted christians to "Turn the other cheek". I know he was advising us to be meek, patient. e.t.c
But to what extent?

Should I allow myself to be cheated time and time again without protesting?
Am I allowed to protect myself from violators?
Should i not defend myself if attacked? and if I retaliate when attacked, am I still a Christian?

your thoughts on this please.

@poster
It is only the TRUTH that you know that can set you free and not the one that is known by others. If you re a Christian and you don't know the truth about giving, then nobody can tell you that TRUTH here. Why don't you ask God to tell you the TRUTH. Am sure He will answer you, then you won't have to come here.

@SegzyJoe,
I do know the truth about giving, what I was trying to find out is if Firstfruits is a biblical LAW as its being touted, and wether it still applies today. You will agree with me that knowledge increases everyday, and people go through experiences in life so others can learn from them.
What I learnt from the discourses on this forum has really opened my eye to a lot of things. Remember "you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free".

Do I take it then you are not in support of asking questions(at least on religious issues) of your compatriots in public forums(e.g nairaland)? How then do you grow in knowledge?
Family / Re: Divorce Proceedings 2 Months Into A Marriage. by coolruler(m): 2:17pm On Mar 12, 2009
@Kx,
What? 35 years old and still inexperienced with women? where d hell has he been?

If he were to be a bit "experienced", he would not have fallen so cheap to her "pussymatics".
I vote for divorce asap. However, lawyer has told us the legal obstacles on his way, so here's what I think d guy should do:

The girl's a monster, right? then he should become a bigger monster. He should make it a point of duty to call up the wife everyday and thrreaten her with the beating of her life anytime she returns to Lagos. His excuse, he's "aware" she's sleeping around where she's serving, and he's had enough of her waywardness. And anytime she's around, he should always make it a point of duty to give her a sound beating at the slightest provocation. Punches, slaps, kicks all allowed. if she stabs him, he should stab her back double. He should move around with girls so word could filter back to her of his "sexcapades". Any attempt from her to protest should be met with sound beating.
In short, make life, as well as the marriage, hell for her. I guarantee you she will do one of two things:
1. Scream to the high heavens for divorce(which is what you wanted all along). or

2. Suddenly starts to change and make a genuine effort to save the marriage.

away4real:

First its so sad that it is from an online forum like this you are taking decisions on your life (christainity), from the likes of Brother Kunle that has been shown to be preaching heresy (false doctrines) twice and when confronted with the scriptures couldnt respond.

Secondly, as i noted to you almost in my first post i dont know what you are doing in a church where you consider your pastor a devourer (its left to you to decide). That is if he really is cos if your problem is giving/ tithing you might better stay home or look for some online people.

@away4real,
First off, contrary to what you may think, I'm not taking decisions on my life from forums like this. I approached this forum seeking for knowledge on something I did not understand.
Folks have responded, and I did meticulous followup on all the responses given. The ultimate decision, I think, is mine to take.

Secondly, nowhere did I call my Pastor a devourer, I said he "told me to pray to God to deliver me from the Devourer".
I am a Christian, but I do not claim to know it all. Indeed, I must confess I've not yet discovered up to 25% of what christianity is all about. So, I constantly search and try to upgrade my knowledge on many issues, tithing and firstfruit being part of them.
If Kunle makes a lot of sense, and you call him a heretic, then I would rather settle for him than somebody who's "holy", but makes no sense. Capisce?
Religion / Re: What's This About Firstfruits? by coolruler(m): 4:20pm On Mar 05, 2009
@Kunle,
I feel you,
But like Mad Max, I've also been conditioned(almost from birth as it were, by my Mother), on the sanctity of tithing. Even till today, almost all her conversations with me always ends with "I hope you are paying your tithes?".
This is the very first time I'm hearing(or reading) an alternative view on tithes and I'm seriously working on changing my orientation. Its very hard I must confess( I'm even feeling guilty right now, thinking about not paying tithes.
Meanwhile, I'm looking around for a better Church, but who can tell what I will meet there?
