Flets:Wrong. That is what they will be happy for you to believe. If the elections were to take place in only one state, it might be easy for them to rig but then it won't be since the interests against rigging will also be concentrated there. Anyway, why do you think it would have been hard for anybody to rig against Fashola when he ran for second term? It is because the vast majority of the people were with him. You did not need to pay thugs to physically assault anybody trying to rig. The same stage is set for 2019. You do not need to pay people to be ready across the board to lynch any kind of attempt at rigging. It will be a thing that even the security forces cannot do anything about. This is what happens when a great majority of the people naturally have a unified position in any elections, whether for or against anybody. That is why it took a military order to stop the legal announcements being made when Abiola became president. Buhari is gone. The only way he can stay is by throwing Nigeria into confusion (which he may secretly want, thinking there will be opportunity for Jihadists to advance their course in the midst of a nation thrown in chaos. But even in that event, he will still not emerge leader of Nigeria. Jihadism will still not win and it will just be a mess for him, those he may be working for and his legacy, which he seems not to realize is on track to end in permanent tatters as far as earth is concerned. I think he inwardly counts or the glory that can be earned from playing a crucial role in a fundamental Islamist agenda. However, that glorification day will never come. I remember how the man who killed Abraham Lincoln thought he would be considered a hero by his people (in the south). He was shocked how they thought he was a murderer and not a hero and how he would have to be a fugitive in his beloved south. I think it is over for the president. Not in the sense that he won't be in office after this tenure but in terms of the desired honour for his legacy. 2 Likes |

Even though Muslims are against Christians, we must realize that the killing Muslim believes the those practicing hinduism, judaism, etc (any kind of religion that is not his, actually) should die, should be killed by him. So Christians and every other member of society (whether Christian or not) should recognize any sect that believes it is their responsibility to kill others who do not share their religious believes, is actually essentially a criminal organisation. The members should be punished according to the laws of the land. If a pastor or hindu kills somebody because he believes God almighty wanted him to kill that person on God's behalf, will we say "Well, he may continue. He is religiously confused"? If a set of Bhudists announce that all those that do not believe as they do will be killed by them on account of this failure to believe, will we say "Go on living among us with this believe" after they kill 5-10 innocent people? You see, inasmuch as we will round these people up and put them in jail and prosecute them for for the low murderers they are, every muslim who thinks he should kill because people do not believe as he does should be rounded up and jailed for being part of a criminal gang, and moreso, any that actually kills, should be incarcerated, tried and punished accordingly. Is there anything that makes it normal for killing due to mad reasons muslim killers have to go unpunished? Is there anything about it that elevates it beyond the foolish criminal killing that it is? |

These people posting on this thread just want attention. GEJ is not contesting and has no desire to. He is a happily retired man. This is for others who come on to this thread not to do this thread the dignity of much attention or any response. We know the things that need attention now and everyone knows them. Not Jonathan's administration or Babangida's administration or Gowon's administration. I sacrificed this response just to remind others (that may come in) that this thread does not deserve the dignity of a response. I see. There was no need to experiment with this APC. I didn't like the PDP but when I saw the APC getting formed, I adopted the position that there is more hope trying to improve from PDP to something better. The only state, in my opinion, that has good justification for being APC is Lagos state. Excellent performance has earned them what they now enjoy there. 2 Likes |

They never reached out. Then in shame (because other Nigerians reached out as they should to their fellow Nigerians that are hurting) they hurriedly put together a team. They did not condemn the killings but said others (who showed the natural sympathy that the killings have evoked) were trying to score cheap political points. As far as I am concerned, I think they do not see that that visit has turned out to be another political and image blow administered unto themselves by themselves. All they should have done was commiserate. The mistakes here were: 1). Paying a visit only because others did and they would start looking seriously bad if they did not visit to commiserate. 2). Consciously choosing not to condemn the killings carried out by the terrorists 3). Mentioning that the others who paid their visits were doing so to score cheap political points. This last one they should have NEVER mentioned because by saying that, they openly declared to the Benue people the unspoken but core important motivation behind their visit - politics and not sympathy. 2 Likes |

Bede2u:I am not an APC supporter but you know if a customer pays for airtime on their station, they will collect the money and air (so long as what is being aired is not illegal). I don't know what you sell but airtime is what TV stations sell. You will not turn away a client from patronising you simply because that client is the government. I feel certain you will make that sale to happen. Besides, everyone knows that even though Channels leans towards APC, paid-to-be-aired documentaries do not necessarily reflect the views of the tv station on which they are aired |

He would chant, "All we are saying..." and the crowd would respond "Give us more SARS!" He stayed at the fore-front of that rally leading the "Give us more SARS!" chant I want him to remember this when he wants to ask us for our votes any time soon. I want us to remember too. That he neither got the PDP ticket nor succeed with the other party he defected to in 2015 does not mean he should stoop so low. He did not have to go with the APC crowd to that extent, pretending he does not understand the reason why the legitimate SARS is being unfavourably spoken of. Pretending he does not know we all know SARS is a legitimate body now notorious [/b]for carrying out [b]illegitimate activities. I just want it to be on record here. 4 Likes
