RomanceRe: I Have Contemplated Suicide Because Of My Sexual Orientation by coolscott(m): 9:19pm On Feb 17, 2018
Shankieboy:
I'm a devoted christian. I believe in Jesus And his teachings. But what I don't seem to understand is Why he hasn't changed my Sexuality. I've prayed. Threatened to harm myself, believing he'll heal me from homosexuality. But all to to no avail.

I've fasted. 5 days dry. I've been celibate for years but I still find myself attracted to members of my gender.

I'm very close to self hate because I feel disgusted with myself. I've tried to be straight. had several girlfriends but I don't seem to be sexually attracted to them. It just doesn't work.

What do I do? Please, help me. I need a miracle. I need an intervention. Else, I'll wallow in depression.

Insults are welcomed.
Let me please tell you one truth.
Some people have hormonal imbalance.

I have seen women who want to become men on reality tv.

Part of what they do is take regular doses of male hormones such that even the shape of their faces eventually acquire the look of a man.

I did not have to see this on tv anyway to know.

Men and women both have male and female sex hormones.

But men have by far of the male hormones than the female ones.

The same thing for women, who have by far more of the female hormones than the male ones.

That is why during puberty (when sex hormones start developing in men) some men see their nipples temporarily rise.

The female hormones are developing alongside the male but they eventually get over-shadowed by the dominance of male hormones.

What I am saying in essence is...

Please take hormonal treatment.

Also, as someone said, how this started in history, may be very relevant to this.

Facing (and taking care of - ie dealing with) what happened that caused/started this in the past [ if this is the case] is super powerful as you are confronting the reason why things took a turn for this path.

But lest you forget...

Hormonal treatment works.

Hormones are the very things God created to handle our sexuality, that makes a man's voice deep or a girls waist swell/sway

I think you will be fine. Hormonal treatment takes effect progressively and in my view is the physical cement with which heal this anomaly

Ibrahim Shekarau, instead.
Through out his tenure as governor of Kano state, there was no riot in the notorious Kano.
I saw him first in the 2011 presidential debates in which GEJ did not appear but PMB, El-Rufai and some other person participated.
He floored all of them.
Everybody there looked inept (because he was there).

I remember that Buhari looked (and sounded) particularly inept in comparison. At that time, I felt it was to a great extent because Ibrahim Shekarau heavily outclassed everyone.

Anyway, the guy is good.

If given the chance to bring back Jonathan even with these difficult situations, I still wouldn't want him back...he's not man enough to handle the affairs of the country
I will never forgive him for letting women ruin the chance of a lifetime of making Nigeria a great nation.
It doesn't mean I want Buhari either...
No one is asking for Jonathan back, but I see that you (and everyone that makes statements like this) are only face-saving from the thick of the embarrassment they are not happy to find themselves in - the magnitude of the error they invested themselves in by voting in the current president and the public passion with which they did it.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Is A Cosmopolitan State : The Yoruba Language Bill Violates People's Right by coolscott(m): 10:02am On Feb 14, 2018
oyatz:
I agree with you sir, except on the last paragraph.

There are many Nigerians, Asians, Arabs who are studying in German universities after a mandatory 6month training in German language, the same applies to Ukrainian and Swedish universities.
Well... if your universities can be so attractive, then there will be people who will not mind going through a period (to learn and pass Yoruba at a certain level).

But as it is...
(i). That super attractiveness does not exist
(ii). There is no program to teach foreigners and non-yorubas the language before they begin attending classes at the universities
(iii). It is hard to make other Nigerians see reason with it given that English is the lingua franca of the nation.

The absence of (i) and (ii) above gives the whole thing a skewed look.

If (i) and (ii) above are established, then not much worry may be given to (iii).

The other issue is should this new policy be applied to federal universities (owned and funded by the federal govt) situated in Lagos?

tochukwuifediba:
The recently passed Yoruba language Bill failed to put into consideration the Cosmopolitan Nature of Lagos state and the Rights of Every Nigerian to acquire basic and Fundamental Education through out the Federation without restriction based on tribe or religious affliation .

The Bill by itself is self discriminatory against over 250 plus ethnic groups who constitutes the Free Citizens of Nigeria hence should be quashed and declare Null and Viod and of no effect .

In enacting such law the Lagos state Assembly Go beyond its bounds and limits and made laws that are directly in conflict not only with the Nigeria laws but also Fundamental Human Right to Education,

Nigeria official and recognise lingua franca as a means of Acceptable mode of communication remain the ENGLISH LANGUAGE both in oral and written form , until such a time the Nigeria state shall make future inclusion and redefine the nature of our collective union I urge the National Assembly , Senate , The Presidency , Supreme court and all Citizens of Nigeria to condemn in the strongest term such policy , and that the bill in question be Declare Null and Viod and of no effect whatsoever

Mazi Tochukwu Ifeduba
( Anambra State , Nigeria )
I support the bill.
Our languages are dying.
Who else to preserve a language but the owners of the language?
Where else to protect it but in the geographical space of its origins?

If Igbos don't like, let them not go and do the same in Igbo land.

Besides, isn't it a plus that other ethnic groups living in Lagos state have a new opportunity to learn the language and the culture of the natives there? It is a plus for them to end up being bilingual (in terms of Nigerian languages) knowing their language along with Yoruba

**Modified

I don't think they should make it a must that a student seeking to school in any of their tertiary universities should have a pass in Yoruba language.

They will be making their schools more local (less diversity as folks from destinations far from Lagos, and with different cultures) will not come to the university because they cannot speak (or write) in Yoruba

He reads a lot and keeps informed.

I thought most people pushed it just a little too far in asserting Buhari will be unwise enough to actually push medieval ideas on people living on earth today, in a medieval manner.

As it stands, I doubt he cares for the respect that modern day society should bestow on him if he is considered a good president. I think he cherishes more the glory of actually being the only mordern person who successfully carried out or completed a huge chunk (if not all) of the initial jihadist agenda of Usman Dan Fodio

Lol, why u dey revive this thread
I saw some nonesense they posted and I just don't have time to be engaging with them, so I decided to revive this in response.
You see, they seem to be fraudulent and thieving by nature so it seems they think no attention is on them the topic now so they can steal through lying.

So, I have to remind them and everyone quickly, who we are dealing with.

Unfortunately for them, I will revive my comment where I show how it is the white man who created warrant chiefs for them, and put it into a thread of its own.

Too bad, we all (nationally) will be discussing and studying this issue of how the warrant chieftaincy system that exists among them today was established by the white man (for tax collection purposes). And in contrast, the white men had to pay taxes to the chiefs and Amanyanobos (kings) of Bonny, Kalabari, Nembe, etc, (all ijaw kingdoms) to be able to do business there.

When Ijaws speak (culturally) Igbos should just respect themselves and know when to keep quiet.

I urge all nairalanders to vote these two party out or else,we will keep recycling corruption.Let's vote for a man of vision from another party and with the help of God Nigeria we be a better place to live in..
That is not a way of thinking that suggests the proponent has the benefit of vision.

In 2011, although I supported Jonathan, I planned not to vote for him in 2015.

But because I could clearly see the horror gathering in the clouds in the form of Buhari and the APC, I had to support GEJ vigorously.

I COULD SEE.

Saying you will vote both PDP and APC out is the kind of reasoning that will make you vote another Buhari (because he seems to be good and is not in the APC and PDP and you think you are punishing anybody).

If the APC had presented Fashola or Ibrahim Shekarau, I would have voted for any of them (definitely for Shekarau, former gov. of Kano state before Kwankwaso).

Use your mind and don't vote out of hate or spite for a thing. Certain personalities will take us back (as our current president has very well done) and certain will take us forward.

People who talk like this are mostly people who made the embarrassing error of lending the weight of their personalities (and their thumbs) to the error we all agree we suffer.

In order not to look so bad, they say "In fact, let us vote out both PDP and APC". They forget that it was not really about APC.
t
It was about at least improving from whatever we had gained as a country (no matter how meagre) vs throwing us in painful swings backwards.

I did not support Buhari at all but if the right candidate emerges from the APC (and I believe that is extremely unlikely) I will feel inclined to support that candidate.

Let me just say that it I believe Amaechi will see himself as not being hurt by anybody.

It is clear that he has been hurt by his own hand.

For just as the soldiers, believing they were on a victory ride, followed Pharoah into the red sea,

So did Amaechi feel he was riding into some sort of future victory but unfortunately, it has turned out

to be the red sea of political disfavour the leader of the ride (pres. Buhari) has led his political followers and faithfuls into.

Will they come out?

Are they coming out? I don't think so.

'Don't know how long I can hold it all together. I really do not want to embarrass myself in front of this guy.

I have always known that when a guy wants you, he wants you.
But I also know that when a guy does not want you, there might not be anything in the world you can do about it to get him. If you scheme and even get him to marry ya, you may be in for one HELLuva ride!

This mindset is the reason for the confusion I feel right now.

There is this guy...
He looks like all I have ever wanted.

The first time I noticed him was when he offered me a cup of drink as i walked into the venue really late.
He was looking into my eyes...the whole time.
He excused himself afterwards and left.
This has been the pattern.
It's gone on for months.

He comes around, exchanges pleasantries, small talks and that's all. undecided

He got to know my name after a while but he keeps forgetting it.
One moment he's calling me Favour, the next time Gift, another Joy!
I find it funny, and I have corrected him again and again.
Everyone around me tells me the names he calls me are nice names too.
And this got me thinking.

The confusion now is:
I have now developed feelings for this guy.
I really like this guy but do not know if he likes me too.

If he likes me, then why isn't he taking it further?
And if he doesn't like me, why does he keep coming around and staring into my eyes like that?undecidedundecided

I don't think I can handle keeping the way I feel about him hidden any longer.

But if I share it with someone or show him some green light and then get to know he's in a relationship, I'd just die of embarrassment!

If he wants me, why isn't he pursuing?
And if he's just being a friend, why that look in see in his eyes?

He finds excuses to sit by me and all that...
Or is it all just in my head?

For him, I wouldn't mind giving up Freedom for Companionship.
This guy is killing me softly and if we don't date, I'm going to really feel heartbroken for a while.

*(...And no, I haven't seen him "scratch".)

The truth is I don't even know what I am saying right now. cry cry

PoliticsUnfortunate That Professor Of Law Osinbajo Is Meeting 2 Negotiate With Criminals by coolscott(op): 10:51am On Feb 04, 2018
The National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, warned that the Federal Government was leading the nation down the path of anarchy and lawlessness by planning to negotiate with the herdsmen, who it said had stained the nation with the blood of innocent citizens.

Odumakin slammed the Osinbajo-led panel for proposing to meet with the Miyetti Allah, saying it was unfortunate that “a professor of law would be meeting to negotiate with criminals.”

He added, “If the panel is meeting herdsmen, who are staining the country with blood, it means the Federal Government is complicit in the murder of Nigerians. They have not brought one person to book, but they are negotiating with the murderers; this is an invitation to anarchy.”
