Atheists have only one thing in common: Lack of belief in the existence of God.
Personally though, I don't believe in karma. We live in a world where the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., Ken Saro-Wiwa, etc. get killed while Stalin and Mao die of natural causes and Hitler only dies when he chooses to. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Is God Beyond Logic? - Discussion by CoolUsername: 7:41pm On Apr 13, 2017 |
Calling God "beyond logic" is just fancy talk for illogical. The fact that an entity with consciousness is somehow self-existing makes no sense whatsoever.
Take quantum mechanics for example, it is honestly mind-bending. Yet, at the end of the day, physicists are regularly able to make accurate predictions with it.
Putting this into perspective, we can see that the God theory is completely unnecessary to questions on our existence. |

KingEbukasBlog: 1. Astral Projection 2. Near Death Experiences
Even atheists on this forum have shared their personal experiences about Astral Projection . Atheists like ifenes and the rest can agree with me consciousness does exist outside matter .
CoolUsername , mi big bro , as you can see consciousness outside matter does not serve as evidence for God to some people . Ayam sorry , I can't help you And studies have shown these to be no more than glorified hallucinations. Is this really your best evidence of God? There have been countless stories of bigfoot sightings, do these count as evidence? |
Christianity Etc › Re: SIX Extremely Ridiculous Beliefs Atheists Have And Their Simple Rebuttals by CoolUsername: 8:40pm On Apr 07, 2017 |
KingEbukasBlog: Again consciousness was not addressed in the OP . And I' m not sure why I should fixate on consciousness as proof for God's existence . I see reality itself (everything that exists in this world and other possible words ) as evidence for God since he is the creator of everything that exists/source of all realities .
There are atheists who have studied the DNA and abjured their atheistic beliefs because they there were convinced that DNA couldn't have resulted from random chaotic processes ; some atheists like C. S. Lewis studied the evidential truth of the existence of Christ on earth and became Christians ; there are atheists who recanted their views against God when they had personal revelations and experienced miracles ; there are so many reasons why people acknowledge the existence of God . It could be through Science and observation of nature (like the deist) , personal encounters , a posteriori knowledge , Logic , reason , ontological arguments etc .
If yours is just consciousness then I implore you to broaden your perspective and read widely (your knowledge is apparently limited to so little ) . And get exposed to a plethora of concepts , arguments and reasons supporting God's existence . Verbal gymnastics, Ebuka. You can't address the common quality of almost every god concept. This means that your assertion fails logically. Let's put it this way, you say DNA is too complex to be synthesized naturally (which I disagree with since it had 500 million years in an open system to do it) but believe that the designer can because it is 'eternal'. But doesn't design require consciousness? If you cannot show evidence of consciousness in the absence of matter, then there is no evidence for God. |
Christianity Etc › Re: SIX Extremely Ridiculous Beliefs Atheists Have And Their Simple Rebuttals by CoolUsername: 7:02pm On Apr 07, 2017 |
KingEbukasBlog: Where was consciousness mentioned here If you cannot bring forth evidence of the brain violating the law of energy conservation. Your god hypothesis is at best, unnecessary and at worst, a product of wishful thinking. It's quite simple, if the first cause of the universe isn't conscious then it is nothing more than a natural phenomenon. Consciousness requires matter to exist in the first place. You can end this argument by providing conclusive evidence against the previous statement. Until then, I cannot think of any meaningful argument that can be made for the existence of God |
Christianity Etc › Re: SIX Extremely Ridiculous Beliefs Atheists Have And Their Simple Rebuttals by CoolUsername: 6:34pm On Apr 07, 2017 |
The same old tired argument which fails to address the fact that consciousness cannot exist without matter. |

Similarities between Genetic and computer codes https:///jdusx7kMJE
peer Reviewed https:///IQqeEhB57e
now provide your own peer reviewed paper claiming DNA isn't a code, get to it atheist! For goodness sake, I said it is compared to a code for easier understanding because it obviously has similarities. At the root of it, though, it functions through purely chemical processes. Treating it as a code is just our way of understanding it. DNA is merely a base ordered sequence. Also, your links aren't working. |

Omudia11: It is about security sir... About 80% of the total terrorist attacks that plagued Europe last year were done by islamists from Syria and 20% from the aforementioned countries. Saudi citizens rarely carry out attacks in recent times that's probably the reason they wre exempted from the ban. That doesn't explain Iran. |

Blogthug: Evidences for God
1. kallam
Everything that begins to exist has a cause, the universe began to exist therefore it has a cause
scientific evidence shows that the universe (time space and matter) began as a singularity 4.5 billion years ago before expansion , hence the cause is external and we deist call that supernatural cause God I've answered this time and time again, the fact that the Universe had a beginning doesn't prove God. The Big Bang only denotes expansion of the singularity into the Universe that we know of. If the cause of the singularity is truly external then there's no way that you can reliably tell me that it's anything resembling any definition of God that we have. Blogthug: 2. intelligent design
All codes of known origin are a product of intelligence, the DNA is code therefore a product of intelligence
all valid deductive logical Evidences DNA is not a code, it is a chemical that undergoes purely chemical processes. We only compare it to a code for easier understanding. Blogthug: 3. Fine tuning Really? Is that even a deistic argument? The universe seems more fine tuned for empty space than anything else. Blogthug: 4. Ontology of morality observed at different religions at different locations shows morality is Objective and if objective, then it will be transcendent
4. ontological argument ( ur homework, research on it)
u can try to refute the logical arguments premise 1 and 2, if u cant, u should concede, Hint : citing kraus won't help u
u can attempt to refute them though The ontological argument is inherently flawed. It first assumes there is a God then concludes the is a God. Lets take it this way, think of a supreme being than nothing can be greater than, the supreme being would be greater if it exists so it must exist. Is that even logical? How does the conception of such a being affect reality? But at the end of the day, the biggest proof against God is the lack of evidence that isn't unverifiable. You guys have managed to push God from mountains, to the clouds and now outside observable time and space. Sounds awfully convenient, doesn't it? |

Its the foolish American liberals I blame. The ban doesn't extend to Saudi Arabia. It only affects Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Which is rather funny because Iranian Muslims are Shiite and do not fight the west while 15 out of the 19 terrorists involved in the 9/11 attacks were Saudi. This is not about security. |

I even opened a thread to ask our Christians and no one provided answers to it
you can check the thread out here https://www.nairaland.com/3249529/christians-paedophilia-underage-marriage-right Quite true. Christians though, are more open to adapt the meaning of their scriptures to modern societal constructs. While Islam in the other hand, sets rather specific and unchangeable laws that admittedly aren't compatible with modern times. And one of those laws tells us that if a girl has reached puberty, then she is ready for marriage. |

Imagine apostasy laws being imposed on us. *shivers* Not to mention underage marriages, further subjugation of women and harsh punishment of dissenting opinions. |

johnydon22:
If silence was effective then those who advocate for silence on matters of public concern like 'God, Religion' should do so by being silent so as to demonstrate it's effectiveness.
That said, the act of being visible as an atheist is not at all to deconvert everyone else..
The goal is to gain equality and that includes addressing the preferencial treatment that religions enjoy. Now this is definitely a t-shirt-worthy quote. |

Quality content is supposed to speak for itself rather than the poster gaming the rather flawed system which counts the authors' own views and comments as part of the total comments and views. Therefore, authors can give their threads an extra push until people actually start commenting (people are more likely to view a post with a large number views already). But I can't really blame you, quality content isn't exactly your thing. |
