kaylardz: No IT related experience in my CV. Would I be selected for the course??
Yes you would. It's absolutely for beginners. You don't even need a CV to apply. Just fill a form and that's all. Besides, the deadline is Monday and the program is starting in two weeks so hurry up with your application
ewa20buredi100: Hi nairalanders, I urgently need your input and counsel.
My younger brother happened to have ran into an old friend who is doing well for himself. From their last meeting, the friend promised to help him further his studies on the condition that the course or skill of interest will be the one that will help him achieve financial stability. And told him to go think about it and get back to him, latest next week.
This is because he has little time to spend in the country.
When my brother told me about it, I advised him to go for MSc in Chemistry, preferably Analytical chemistry in UniLag, though he wanted to go the tech route, preferably BIG DATA analytics or Software engineering.
I told him to go for the Analytical Chemistry , as it will be cheaper and he can easily get a lot of school options, like UniBen, UI, UniLag, etc. And he can easily get a decent job with it, without much stress.
Unlike BIG DATA or other related IT courses that are very expensive and their skill acquisition centres being very hard to find (I mean the very good ones). And of which getting a job is very stressful, as it requires a lot of processes and procedures, especially for the remote jobs.
Please did I advise him well or he should go for his Tech related courses?
He is 33years and he has been a tutor ever since he graduated from the University.
Thank you.
Your brother can take the Full Stack Software Engineering course hosted by ALX Africa. Check it out on www.alxafrica.com. It's totally free

Kobojunkie: How can a family be holy when God cursed even the family unit when He cursed marriage and man from the beginning- Genesis 3 vs 16 b?
How can family be considered holy when God, Holiness Himself, Himself never declared said family so?
How can a family be holy when Jesus Christ reiterated that His mother, brothers and sisters are instead those who do the will of God and not even those He shared blood with?
2. Jesus Christ said He came to call sinners not the righteous. If Mary had been Holy, Jesus Christ would not have offered her salvation, the same as He offered the sinners of His time.
1. How does your comment now makes the Holy Family less of what it is? 2. How does your comment makes the Holy Mary more or less holy?
Kobojunkie: Who told you that family was Holy abeg? You are told instead that Jesus Christ was born of God's Holy Spirit, so how did you leap from that to declaring His earthly family Holy?
If Mary for example was already Holy why then did she have to become a follower of Jesus Christ submitting to and obeying His teachings and commandments much like everyone else who is a follower of Jesus Christ?
Who told you the family is not holy in the first place? How does Mary being Holy stop her from being a follower of Jesus Christ?
Abuja-based comedian, Ghana Must Go is currently seeking opinion of couples and singles on the possibility of reviewing their marriages annually.
In his opinion, some couples if given opportunity to have a decision on their marriages after each two years, either of the parties would want a separation.
Ghana Must Go who is the Convener of Vintage With Ghana Must Go said some couples are enduring their marriages because of possible backlash from the society.
In his video released on Facebook, he said his interaction with married people over time has indicated that some are willing to go their separate ways but find it difficult to discuss.
In his opinion, if there is opportunity for biannual renew of marriage vow a lot of marriages will crash.
Ghana Must Go who will soon host The Vintage, a comedy show at Transcorp Hilton Hotel therefore seeks opinion of everyone on the issue.
In the Catholic Church, renewal of marriage vows is a yearly thing. There's a day reserved for it. I think the Feast of the Holy Family in December or another day in February
Nollywood actor Aguba who was recently rescued by OPM Pastor Chibuzor had told the preacher that he can only marry a virgin from Isreal.
This is coming on the heels of the public notice that a wife is needed urgently for the actor.
Aguba who appears to be unhinged rejected a widow who agreed to be his wife and have his children and insists that he wants an European virgin instead.
The preacher however has promised to send him to rehabilitation.
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Monday, described his seven years in office as “tough” saying “I am eager to go.”
This was as he called on the Academic Staff Union of Universities to consider the plight of the future generations of the country as the strike stretches into the fifth month.
According to a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari said this when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress, legislators, and political leaders at his residence in Daura, Katsina State.
The statement is titled ‘Enough is enough, President Buhari tells ASUU, urges lecturers to consider generational consequences.’
Lamenting the toll his official duties have taken on him in the last seven years, President Buhari told the visiting governors and political leaders that he had not been to his house in Daura for close to a year due to the demands of office.
He said, “The observation that I abandoned my base was made by the Emir of Daura, Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk, at the eid prayer ground. He held the microphone and told everyone that the last time I was in Daura was during the Eid-el-Kabir of 2021.”
“In ten to eleven months time, I will come here. I have a better house in Kaduna, but it is too close to Abuja.”
The President explained that the schedule of work was much, saying he recently had to sympathise with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema, who had to be away most of the time from his family.
He claimed that relative to the resources available, and compared to the last administration, the government had done well in many areas, particularly in infrastructure.
“I am eager to go. I can tell you it has been tough. I am grateful to God that people appreciate the personal sacrifices we have been making. I wish the person who is coming after me the very best,” he said.
Addressing the now six-month ASUU strike that has crippled academic activities in public universities nationwide, the President appealed to lecturers to consider the effect of the strike on future generations.
According to him, the strike had already taken a toll on the psychology of parents, students, and other stakeholders, throwing up many moral issues that already beg for attention. He said enough is enough.
While claiming that the government understands ASUU’s position, the President remarked, “We hope that ASUU will sympathise with the people on the prolonged strike. Truly, enough is enough for keeping students at home. Don’t hurt the next generation for goodness sake.”
He urged well-meaning Nigerians, particularly those close to the leaders and members of the association, to intervene in persuading the lecturers to reconsider their position and the ripple effect on an entire generation and the nation.
President Buhari said students from Nigerian universities are already handicapped in competing with their counterparts in a highly connected and technology-driven workspace, therefore, keeping them at home only deprives them of time, skill, and opportunities to be relevant on the global stage.
“Colonial type education was geared towards producing workers in government. Those jobs are no longer there. Our young people should get education to prepare them for self-employment. Now education is for the sake of education.
“Through technology, we are much more efficient. We should encourage our children to get education, not only to look for government jobs,” he added.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, assured the President that the governors would work to ensure the party’s success in next year’s elections.
He claimed that the roaring insecurity in the north has done little to the country’s food security, especially due to the “favorable seasons”.
“In spite of the attacks by the renegades, our country remains self-sufficient in food production. We have seen investments that were not there before you came into power.
“Not less than 20 states now have agriculture process zones. We have rice pyramids in Ekiti, Gombe, and Niger, while maize pyramids were revived in Katsina and Kano states,” he said.
APC Governors at the lunch with the President include; Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Abubakar Bello of Niger State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Dr. Fayemi Kayode of Ekiti State and Simon Lalong of Plateau State
Excober08: "I Met My Engineering Classmate Riding Keke Five Years After Graduation"
Dayo and Rukayat Studied Engineering at a University in kwara State. They were both Classmates and after Five years of Studying hard, they both graduated. After graduation, Fate took them through different paths of life.
5 Years later, Rukayat after much frustration of securing a job, ended up as a Secretary in a Building firm earning 50,000 Naira monthly.
Meanwhile, Dayo on the other hand, couldn't Secure a Job and ended up a Taxi Driver, He makes At least 5,000 daily and if he works for only 20 days in a month, He makes 100,000 Naira that month.
One Evening, Rukayat closed from work and was at the bus stop waiting for taxi when Dayo stopped. She hopped in when she discovered the taxi was going her way but little did she know it was Dayo. All through the journey, she was lost in her Phone.
She reached her bus Stop and after alighting, just when she was about paying, she took a look at the driver and their eyes met, wow! They were both happy.
"Is this you?" they both asked themselves simultaneously as if they planned it. Rukayat gave him money but Dayo insisted she keep it. He was happy to see her and for old time sake, he left the money for her even when she insisted that she wanted to pay. They both exchanged contact and left.
Well, Rukayat went home that night and was lost in thought. Not as if Dayo was looking bad but Dayo driving Taxi? She couldn't wrap her head around it. She Pitied him. Felt Sorry for him. If Dayo had allowed her she would have paid him and beg him to keep the change.
Little did she know that, Dayo actually has another Taxi running for him, He is a Land owner and he is planning on developing it soon. But because he was driving a Taxi, She felt Pity for him.
On the other hand, Dayo felt sorry for himself too. Before he slept that night, he remembered Rukayat, how neatly she dressed and nice she smells, "She must be earning over 300,000 Naira per month" he said to himself. He felt ashamed, He felt like a failure and he felt she was way ahead of him financially and otherwise.
Little did he know that, If Rukayat removes the transportation fare and feeding money from her monthly salary, it will take her at least 3 Months to earn what he earns monthly.
Sadly, this could be some of our reality, you measure your progress and success with that of your friends, Classmates and Relatives even with very limited information you have about them.
You think yours is worse because you look dirtier, you think yours is worse because you are not on Corporate wears, you think yours is worse because the other person acts and looks Nicer.
Stay Focused and Face your life. It's not a competition. Stop Comparing things, you don't have the full picture. Every one is running on his own lane. Be contented.
Be focused.
Dis story na old one, but it's cool. It's the reality of life. There's the tendency to make judgement based on what we see without evaluating situations properly.
Be like capture-recapture game this security operatives dey play with Boko Haram. Police capture them, dem break into prison, free more members. The cycle begins again
wheelzcoded: I've been in love with my friend's sister for a year now, the whole family are cool with me. I and the girl has been so close , we fight, settle, she apologizes immediately when she's wrong, I do too , when we're together there's no boring moments as she keeps creating funny jokes and discussions even if I'm out of words.
So many times I try to understand and dictate signs she loves me , even situations where there are guys with cars whenever we're walking and they stop to talk to her , the reactions from her shows to them she's my girlfriend. Even though we both know we're not dating.
Many times people tend to ask her the state of the relationship or who am I to her , sometimes she says her boyfriend, sometimes her manager because we're in a business together.
My question here is despite she being supportive and understanding, can a lady go into a biz with a guy who she doesn't see the future with? Like she does more of the commitment than I do sef, whenever I talk about the future she doesn't laugh she only says if it's God's plan no one can stop it but she always tells me "I'm not ready for a relationship now, you're not my boyfriend, I just need to focus on my growth"
This is one girl that understands my kinda person and I do understand her too We fight and settle just immediately.. so many times I lockup and don't want to talk to her she does the checkups and communication. I'm not pushy, the stuff is just balanced .
Even encourages more and sacrifice for me like a wife even some girlfriend's wouldn't do for their boyfriend's...
Few days to my birthday she wrote on her status "My love's birthday is loading"". Soon I viewed it she deleted it .
How long can I keep accepting this you're not my boyfriend words and I'm your girlfriend attitudes....
The last paragraph sha. Ah dey wonder the kain zone wey dis girl put you like this so.
I'd recommend this to you. Take her on a date. Talk things out with her. Make she tell you her mind, let her know your mind too. Shikena

MrCover: A Pastor, His Wife and Three Children escaped without a scratch after a speeding trailer rammed into their car in Jos, Plateau State, Reports.

"MY WIFE AND MY THREE CHILDREN WERE RIGHT INSIDE THIS VEHICLE WHEN A TRAILER ON A HIGH SPEED DROVED INTO US THIS EVENING IN A HOLDUP AT HILL STATION JUNCTION, JOS. THIS IS QUITE UNEXPLAINABLE & UNBELIEVABLE BUT THE ALMIGHTY GOD IN HIS INFINITE LOVE & MERCY, DELIVERED US ALL AND GAVE US A RESOUNDING VICTORY OVER THE PLANS OF THE ENEMY. NOT EVEN A STRAIN OF OUR HAIR FELL TO THE GROUND. INDEED, THIS CAN ONLY BE GOD. HALLELUJAH! THANK YOU JESUS" he wrote.
