"Thus, the so-called Biafra agitation is rooted in the 1966 coup and I want to say that if people are still asking for Biafra almost 50 years after the civil war, then it is necessary for us to sit down and ask ourselves how we want the nation to be. That’s exactly what the Igbos are asking for – let’s sit down and discuss but it seems that is not falling on good ears?" - Ango Abdullahi. |

GoroTango:Impose travel ban on Nigerian Officials, IPOB sues US, Europe, Australia: The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) has urged the United States of America, Europe, Australia and other civilized countries to impose travel ban on Nigerian government officials over alleged human rights abuses in the country. According to IPOB, such sanction would compel the federal government to comply with the various court rulings on its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafran agitators. IPOB which made the call in a press statement issued yesterday by its Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful, expressed shock that no sanctions had been considered against Nigeria by the international community despite obvious human rights violation especially against freedom fighters in Nigeria. The Biafran group lamented the continued killing of its members by security operatives during peaceful protests yet without any concern by the international community. http://breaking.com.ng/nigeria/impose-travel-ban-on-nigerian-officials-ipob-sues-us-europe-australia/ ..and it was done by those foreign governments, as requested by IPOB |
The killings have reduced. Fear of AI, US ban, and ICC is the beginning of wisdom
|
Before, when you hear that Biafrans are planning a protest or sit at home, people will be bragging that Burutai and his boys would do the needful by gunning down the unarmed "miscreant" IPOB members. These boasting has stopped in recent times...why?

steveneche:You now. Crying more than the bereaved!! You will be in your SW that produces and exports. How Biafra take concern you?

.."i am not in support of any clamour for secession because there's strength in our diversity..." OP This is not the case in Nigeria. Here diversity is our greatest problem. If Igbos develop anything due to their creative nature. The federal government will make an Hausa/Fulani, the CEO of the enterprise. Within few months the enterprise becomes another failed project. We are better divided like those small countries who are wealthier than Nigeria with their small population. |
UncleJJ:...and after what next...? Even if he is made the president, like OBJ, would the several agitations across he country stop. Most Nigerians have like you have half brain... |
IpobExposed:What has happened to northern Fulani herdsmen, who don't only asked for killing but are already killing people with AK 47? How many have been arrested? If you don't desist from your lies, you will meet your waterloo one day. |
ipobarecriminals:Criminal! Islam Gaddafi said nobody could topple his father in Libya...What has happend there now? Even mighty Russia could disintegrate talk less of Nigeria...You are are joke, criminal... |
Anyone who thinks Nigeria can stick together is either a fool or an enemy of the country —Falae What do you make of the current heated debates over the unity and survival of the country? The recent noise we are hearing is a symptom that the basic problem of Nigeria is rearing its ugly head again. Nigerians like to pretend that things are okay when they are not. The fundamental problem is that of an unjust, distorted federation which has been manipulated to favour one section against the other. There is no way such an unjust arrangement can endure or generate peace and stability. It is not possible. In 2014, after a lot deferring and hesitation, the former President Goodluck Jonathan finally convened the 2014 National Conference, there were various predictions that it would achieve nothing or that it would break up in confusion and that there would be riot or that there would be fight. But none of the above happened. It was as if God himself started to have a hand in the affairs of Nigeria. I was made the leader of the Yoruba delegation and in that capacity, I can say with all humility that I was at the very core of what happened at the conference. Maybe that was the first time Nigerians recognised that changing the constitution was the most effective strategy in returning peace and stability to Nigeria. All the delegates at the conference cooperated at getting all the resolutions passed without a single division of voting. It is important, because, in our history, we have never succeeded in coming to so many conclusions that constitute a package on the basis of consensus. What that means to me is that Nigerians recognise that if we want to live together as a country, there must be give and take; that nobody can say that he must take everything and the other people take nothing. That was how we agreed. Over 600 resolutions were taken. They said there had been conferences in the past. But did any of these passed 600 resolutions by consensus? Which one did? The one held in London or Ibadan? It was the most glorious meeting and decision Nigeria has ever had by my account. What about Northern leaders who are now backing out? Mention the names of any of those leaders who signed the report and are now saying they made a mistake. Of course, there would always be dissenters. There were leaders in the North and West who opposed the conference. In any case, if there is anybody now backing out, has that removed their signature? The logic of the situation and the demand of the people will overwhelm their resistance. I am not a prophet, Nigeria has no choice, if it wants to survive, but to implement the report of the 2014 National Conference. The alternative will be chaos, inferior and be unpatriotic. IpobExposed:He meant they should be arrested like he was arrested. He was not saying they were wrong in asking Igbos to leave. You Nigerians have allowed your brains to be clouded with garabages...by years of misrule by the Sokoto Caliphate. Injustice and inequality have soaked through your brains that the only things you believe is what is coming from the north. You are zombies, you have no mind of your own. On praying for oil wells to dry up. He meant he would do it if it is possible to pray for that. Haven't you lazy liar, heard even the ND people saying that oil in their region is a curse? What do you to a curse...? You pray against it... Now bring your next propaganda...you shameless little liar! |

He also, asked them to design a policy “for the maximisation of our coal resources for power generation, and another geological inventory of all our resources and carefully scripted plan for engaging the Federal Government in their exploration.” We are tired of going to Abuja to beg anyone for permission to develop the resource we have in our land...This is part of the issue. The evil central government will delay the plan. Anything that won't benefit the north will be delayed and destroyed. The youth want Biafra. They want to take their destiny in their own hands. I give you an example. Can the federal government give permission to the eastern scientists to engage in ballistic missile technology for instance? They won't, unless the north is involved. This leads to suppression, set back, and inability to grow at our pace. Our God given talents are rubbished if we remain in this union. This is the reason most eastern scientists are doing their thing abroad, especially US? We need freedom to explore, exploit and expand our coast. |

dingbang: yes, there is a pattern...In Enugu state, there are 3 senatorial zones...Governors are rotated among the three zone...after 8 years....With this no zone will claim they are marginalized. Same thing will happen in Biafra. There will be no room for marginalization or dormination. We can't go from Nigeria with its crude nepotism to Biafra...There shall be power sharing until democracy matures..."Nothing like born to rule" will be allowed there. |
bestpunterever:These are the illiterates referred to...Just look at you what you have written. |

...and yet so many illiterates, mainly the afonjas, on Nairaland will be pointing fingers at IPOB and Kanu... |
After General Yakubu Gowon declared "no victor,no vanquised", why was the 3 Rs: Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction not implemented in eastern region? Every Igbo person who had account were handed 20 pounds and absolutely nothing was done to reconstruct the region devasted by war. Does anyone know why this was so...? Even 50 years later, nothing is happening. The wickedness has been sustained and the federal government is not ashamed of hiding this crude behaviour...and secret policy...to suppress the region. This has gone on for 50 years. The question now..is...How much longer will they continue with this suppression and suffocation? If they are punishing the region for the war...will they be satisfied in say another 50, 100, 200 or a 1000 years...? Your guess is as good as MINE!!! |

bestpunterever:You need to have your brain examined...How good was the road before the clueless GEJ destroyed it? The SE is systematically destroyed by the evil central government...inclusing all past governments...It has nothing with do with GEJ, though he would have done better...These are some of the reasons many eastern youths are ready to die for Biafra...Did you see how the young and the old came out in large numbers to visit Kanu? This useless country doesn't deserve anything good from the people of SE they have done everything to subjugate... |
adem30:Did you see this? “I cried because I empathised with them and I wondered how we managed to push a people to such a position of hopelessness and despair. I also fearfully wondered if by any act of commission or omission I have played any role in this ignoble act (s).

Why did Nigeria want independence from Britain, but Nigerians don't want to relocate back to Nigeria from UK? Such a dumb question...List any country that has gained independence and all its people left to the new country? |
sarrki:Have you ever seen where peace reigned when there is an open injustice, inequality, suppression, and wickedness to sections of the country? |
obyrich:Count the number of cars in the convoy of these thieving governors. Even the British PM doesn't have such. |

The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan has said that the violations of the federal character principle contributed to anger and dissatisfaction expressed by Nigerians which he said will continue. He spoke on Wednesday in Abuja as part of activities marking the Centenary of the late Eminence Ignatius Cardinal Ekandem, the first Episcopal Archbishop of Abuja Catholic Metropolitan. He said Nigerians were displeased with the way government was running the country, urging the Federal Government to change the rules of governance by yielding to the call by Nigerians to restructure the country by addressing socio-economic problems confronting the masses. “We all know what is causing people to be angry, and if you want to be sincere, there is no part of Nigeria where there is no cause for anger. May be some people are expressing their angers more than the others. But everywhere, people are dissatisfied. And this has nothing to do with who is president and who is not the president. “If the federal character leads to injustice and marginalization, then, it does not make sense. We must change the way we are doing thing, we cannot continue like this. Definitely, if we do, there will be more anger, more calls for change and we don’t know who will be able to mobilize more people to cause more problem. Don’t forget that this was the one of the major positions held by the Boko Haram,” Onaiyekan said. He said the lackadaisical attitude by some at the helms of affairs of the country would do no good for the country, and should rather look at the agitations holistically to correct the imbalances in the land. He said: “The issue is, what are those things that are happening in Nigeria now, which we need to be critically and effectively looked at, in such that, this sense of dissatisfaction, exclusion, injustice that people are feeling will be reduced to the minimum? So, some people put it under big title of restructuring. “We need to restructure if we want the country to survive. The truth is that things are not organized properly and it makes the people to be dissatisfied. It is not only the Biafrans who are disgusted with this country; a lot of us are, even though we still are not thinking of leaving the country. It is like a father who is angry with his son; you will still not throw him away?” dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/how-federal-character-violation-fuels-agitations-onaiyekan/202680.html

Markfemi2:What about Kaduna Nzeogwu, the Igbo coup leader. Where was he from? |
Ojiofor: They are dodging this your question, like jumping of boko mines.... They know they are lying... |
smellingmenses:This is your answer..Forget your long story. The simple question to ask those who make this baseless claim is, if Igbos don't sell property to them, don't Edos, Efiks, Ijaws, Ur hobos, etc in the South-South sell to them too? How many lands and shops do Northerners and Westerners own in Calabar or Benin or Uyo or Warri, etc? How much property and stationary businesses do Northerners own in the Southwest outside Lagos (former capital)? How much property and businesses do Yorubas own in the North outside Abuja? The northerners that sell forex in Enugu...Do they do it on the streets? Don't they own shops and officers? It is a shame for old people to be lying...Honestly... |
wristbangle:You are right...That's exactly why Nigeria is perishing... |
