Pretty lot of special qualities, right? If 10 people from this Lugard contraption...did well abroad/internationally at least 5 must be from these people... What about that? Without them, you won't be known globally.. Kiss the truth.. Despite all the attributes you listed above...they a better than killing qualities which you have in great measures. 1. Nigeria ratified and consolidated its membership of OIC- Organization of Islamic Conference.
2. Nigeria became the member of D8. Organization of 8 developing Islamic nation of countries like Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, Indonesia Egypt, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.
3. Nigeria joined the Saudi-Arabian formed IMA -Islamic Military Alliance- Call it the NATO of the Islamic world.
All these happened barely one year of president Buhari's ascent to power.
Are these normal, considering the religious plurality of the nation? |

Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Cooly100: 12:03pm On May 29, 2018 |
Cjrane2: Enugu is even one of the best cities in Nigeria. But being the best city in Nigeria is like saying you are the best behaved in hell. Enugu should compare and aspire to levels of other African cities outside Nigeria and not cities within Nigeria EXCEPT Abuja.
Enugu is so close to achieving the Kigali transformation if it only took it's environment seriously. It will only take a couple of youths mobilized with shovels and palm /other tree species to go all over the city and plant on the road medians at intervals of 5 meters apart.
The question is if the rulers of Nigeria think a good environment is important at all? Why can't the governors start gradually by including landscaping in their laws? I know that all internal city roads are not tarred, but they can start from the major roads in the city. All the buildings near the roads must have green areas or concrete slabs...to reduce the red earth menace. Then the environment agencies should focus on the meridian, at first, planting trees that are dry weather friendly. Kigali seems to be in a hotter environment than Enugu and other eastern states( I might be wrong). I am surprised that trees and grasses can do well there. Leaders of Nigeria think the environment is important. If in doubt visit the government house areas of the states and you get what I mean. They are just lazy and selfish. |

If the ACF abokis could tell why 2nd Niger bridge is the most controversial project in Nigeria history and why no SE state is among the 9 states chosen as pilots for the Conditional Cash Transfer for the poorest Nigerians...I will not sit at home.
The 9 pilot test states are;
Bauchi, Borno, Kwara , Kogi , Niger - North
Cross River - South South
Ekiti , Osun and Oyo - South West
Nil - South East
Anybody blaming the Igbo youths for any action they have decided to take is not sincere...as they would do worse if the are exempted in almost everything in Nigeria, |

Politics › Buhari's Speech...The South West And Northern Nigeria by Cooly100(op): 11:19am On May 29, 2018 |
b . The Conditional Cash Transfer has so far recorded over 297 ,000 caregivers and being trained by 2 ,495 Community Facilitators in 21 states . Less privileged Nigerians are now being paid N 5 ,000 monthly stipend in 9 pilot States of Bauchi, Borno , Cross River , Ekiti , Kwara , Kogi , Niger, Osun and Oyo. Eventually the scheme will cover all the 36 states of the federation including the FCT .
Reviewing Buhari's speech, I stumbled at the statement above.
Despite the fact that most of the federal government investment has gone to the South West and the north for more than 50 years now, it is amazing that the poorest are located in those areas..compared to the SE and SS that witnessed the devastation of civil war and continues to see marginalization and exclusion till today...
Form the list of 9 pilot test states for the poorest Nigerians, you can see the states chosen:
Bauchi, Borno, Kwara , Kogi , Niger - North
Cross River - South South
Ekiti , Osun and Oyo - South West
Nil - South East
Admin please do not hide this...as there is nothing racist or tribalistic about this. I need to understand why a particular part of the country is always exempted from the scheme of things. You have no moral grounds to delete or hide this post. Thank you. |

I am literally shocked why these leaders we call governors who travel abroad and can't replicate the beauty they see abroad at home...but drive down poor roads and red earth dry environment in their air conditioner cars...Sometimes I feel they made me the infrastructure and Environment commissioner...not even a governor to show what I can do. Kigali is awesome. Take this road for example...It can be turned around pretty good..especially the median.

OreMI22: I am not making excuses for Gov Ugwuanyi. But, If you consider that Ugwuanyi has one of the lowest allocations in the country, you will appreciate him. Personally, i think it will be a monumental waste for Ugwuanyi to spend money building more flyovers in Enugu, when more than 8 already existing are unkempt.
I just blame him when even less capital intensive things he could do- such as beautifying the environment and all open areas such as Naira triangle and roundabouts and flyovers are left in unkempt conditions. Many African countries with much less resources than Nigeria look a lot better than Nigeria because they maintain their environment with aesthetic trees, flowers etc. They can't afford flyovers, but they build aesthetically pleasing roundabouts furnished with flowers which more than compensate for flyovers.
Let Governor Ugwuanyi concentrate on how to transform Enugu using trees and flowers along the roads and in ALL roundabouts and already existing flyovers. If he budgets N1 billion naira for that project, he will see the quadruple effect of his effort to beautify the city as the choice destination in SE and SS regions. Beautifying Enugu with trees and flowers will more than transform the ambiance of Enugu as a tourist garden city than building a N50 billion naira flyover at ninth mile or Emene.
Kigali does not have a single flyover, yet it's rated higher than Kampala or other African capitals that have multiple unkempt flyovers. Kigali simply make their roundabouts and roads beautiful and stand out.
Gov Ugwuanyi should simply concentrate on transforming Enugu roads and open spaces with beautiful trees as Kigali has successfully done in the last few years. Enugu should totally focus on the Kigali example and try to out-do Kigali in planting trees and flowers along major roads and roundabouts. Then Enugu will have achieved it's niche as one of the few truly habitable Nigerian cities. You are right. It can be done. Currently, it is only the government house area that has much greenery. This can be easily replicated in the other areas without breaking the bank.

Obi1kenobi: Arabic is the language of Islam - a religion practised by half of Nigerians across the North and South West. I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with that. I was raised a Catholic and Latin was prominent in many of our traditions.
Israel is a nation state in the Levant with no historical or geographic or cultural ties with Igbos, yet many nationalistic Igbos have some weird cultish Jewish devotion based on ahistorical deluded myths about how we originate from there (which is utter bullshiit).
