How many times have you seen MURIC, Sultan of Sokoto, Arewa Youths protest for this killings?

Just imagine what would have happened in the streets of Kano, Bauchi, and Kaduna if two imams are slaughtered in the south?

A masquerade flogged some northerners in Ondo a few days ago and it sparked a riot.

What manner of a country is this?

By Johnbosco Agbakwuru with agency report ABUJA –

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has described as despicable and satanic the gruesome murder of Catholic Priests and worshippers at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ukpor -Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government of Benue State. President Buhari who also said the action of the murderers was sacrilegious in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina in Abuja on Tuesday, said that those behind the act would be fished out to face the consequences of their wicked act. He said, “I extend my sincere condolences to the government and people of Benue State, the Mbalom community, and especially the Bishop, priests and members of the St Ignatius’ Catholic Church, whose premises was the unfortunate venue of the heinous killings by gunmen. . Joseph Gor in white

“This latest assault on innocent persons is particularly despicable. Violating a place of worship, killing priests and worshippers is not only vile, evil and satanic, it is clearly calculated to stoke up religious conflict and plunge our communities into endless bloodletting.” Stressing that the country will not bow to the machinations of evildoers, President Buhari vowed that the assailants would be hunted down and made to pay for the sacrilege committed The Catholic Diocese of Makurdi confirmed the killing of two of its priests, Rev Fathers Joseph Gor and Felix Tyolaha, in an early hour attack on St Ignatius Quasi Parish, Ukpor, Mbalom in Gwer West Local Government Council of Benue. A statement by its Director of Communications, Rev Fr Moses Iorapuu, said that the attacks were perpetrated by herdsmen who stormed the Mbalom community and killed the two priests during the morning mass at the church.

The Diocese expressed regret at the nonchalant attitude of the security agencies in containing the killings. It said the herdsmen, who stormed the community, burnt down houses, destroyed crops and killed people. The church, therefore, urged the relevant authorities to stop the killings in the Benue valley. Iorapuu said the Diocese had been active in providing food and relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) since the onset of hostilities in the state and wondered why it could be marked as a target of attacks. “The attack on the priests is an attack on everything that we ever stood for and believed in.”

Meanwhile, concerted efforts to get reaction from the Benue Police Command failed as its Public Relations Officer, ASP Moses Yamu, was not forthcoming with remarks. Rev. Fr. Gor had before the attack written on Facebook; “Living in fear. The fulani herdsmen are still around us in Mbalom. They refuse to go. They still go grazing around us. No weapons to depend on ourselves”. Herdsmen in the early hours of the morning attacked a Catholic Church and parishioners who went for 5.30 a.m. mass. Reports say the bodies of the dead have been taken to St. Theresa’s Hospital Makurdi.

You need to see how TIV soldiers were feared those days..with raping of Igbo women and merciless killings of people who didn't start the war.

Firstly, majority of Igbo must make up their minds that it's Biafra or nothing. They will need to be focus and speak with action not by month. They should find a candidate for president, senators, reps who will promise them constitution amendment to include referendum. The moment those candidates win based on that promise in south east, that election itself has become first referendum on its own. It will send strong signal to international community and Nigeria ruling class about seriousness of Igbo toward Biafra. The next is to continue to put pressure on the representative not abandon their promise on the issue of referendum which should be their primary aim in the house. This is important because as today nobody actually know what igbo want. either
1. To vote out Buhari.
2. To produce president.
3. To achieve Biafra.
4. To return PDP to power

People will not take you serious if they don't know what you stand for.
Now can we see a piece about how Nigeria can work since 1914 amalgamation?

Or is that not also important to you?

In Damning Report, US Says Impunity, Massive Corruption Still Prevalent in Nigeria:

• Shiite, IPOB extrajudicial killings, Dasuki’s detention cited as rights abuses, violation of rule of law

Tobi Soniyi in Lagos

The United States Department of State has again issued a damning assessment of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari in its 2017 Country Report on Human Rights released last Friday in Washington D.C.

In the 48-page report posted on the website of the State Department, the U.S. government said impunity remained widespread at all levels of government in Nigeria, further noting that the Buhari-led administration lacked transparency.

A copy of the report obtained by THISDAY, added that government officials engaged in massive corruption.
Corruption, the report said, was not limited to government officials but very rampant among the security agencies.

No restructuring, no 2019 election, Ijaw youths warn

Vow to stop oil flow in the region
The Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) has re-aligned itself with the position of the Ijaw elders and that of the Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson on restructuring of the country, warning that the 2019 election is in danger if the presidential candidates refuse to address and support the vexed issue.

The Congress Central Zonal Chairman, Tare Porri, who spoke with newsmen after a congress held at Aleibiri in Ekeremor Local Council of Bayelsa State, said Ijaw youths in unity unanimously resolved that they are standing with the leaders of the Ijaw extraction that the 2019 elections will be a referendum on restructuring.

He said: “Ijaw people’s position is being reaffirmed by the youths of the Ijaw nation. We are standing with the governor-general of the Ijaw nation to the fact that 2019 general election is a referendum on restructuring.

“Any presidential candidate must first and foremost realise that Ijaw people will not support any candidate unless that candidate believes in restructuring.”

The Ijaw youths also warned of dire consequences if the Federal Government continues the prosecution of Dan Etete and other Niger Delta indigenes in the Malabo oil deal, saying they will not hesitate to stop the production of crude oil in the region.

He said: “Today, we have also resolved on the well-talked about Malabo oil deal, this OPL issue that they have been talking about every day. The position of Ijaw people is that Ijaw youths will not be deterred and that we are standing with Dan Etete and all the stakeholders in that platform.

“And that the Federal Government should stop persecuting Ijaw people who are in the oil and gas sector; that any further attempt to silence the Ijaw people in the oil and gas industry, Ijaw youths will waste no time in making sure that they don’t take crude oil from our environment again.”

The Ijaw youths, who passed a vote of confidence on Dickson for his efforts in road construction, aligned with the governor that the 13 per cent derivation component of the excess crude in the $1 billion that has been erroneously withdrawn by the Federal Government should be paid to the Ijaw people.
