Politics › Re: Igbo Must Produce President In 2023 –Senator Hope Uzodimma by Cooly100:
Uzodimma also canvassed advancement in technology and intellect by Ndigbo, which, he said, they can use to dominate the economy and invariably determine the direction of political leadership in the country, and ensure justice and equity for Ndigbo.
To achieve, this he called for the floating of special fund by Igbo leaders, to facilitate technological research and breakthroughs in Igbo land.

--------------------------------------------

This guy and Ekweremadu are so rich...why can't both spearhead and float the special funds. Invite other Igbo elites both home and in diaspora. Create a secretariate...and boom it goes. But no they wont...they prefer to amass wealth they would never really use till they go and meet their ancestors. For me this is a political talk.

I think its the business class that's supposed to plan and execute business ideas in the region, this is because if we continue to wait for the governors, who themselves were not investors or businessmen before becoming governors, things might not change. But the political class must provide the enabling environment. If I plan an industrial park or a leading service in Enugu, without the government in support, Roads and other infrastructure will be lacking there, security might also be an issue.

But the one that really draws the clock back is the lack of power to produce goods and materials in competitive costs, by the time I fuel and maintain my generators, costs will surpass that of imported substitutes.
The major problem we have also is following up on signed MOUs. Teams from South Africa have visited Enugu to build a coal power plant. Another team has visited to build about 5000 houses...etc, etc but years after signing, nothing is happening. A power plant has just been completed before scheduled December date in Edo, to generate MW 450 of electricity.

I don't know the issues we have in the east, especially Enugu where the governor is only interested in the rural areas.

I just came across the Kano thread https://www.nairaland.com/4454028/kano-night-video-photos and this is exactly what i was talking about when i said that we needed too step up our game. Enugu might have more residential estates than Kano (i don't know) but what we lack is that striking thing that makes Enugu a city to behold. What is that thing that when people come into Enugu, they say WOW. The only city in Igboland that has anything close to that is Owerri. We can't remain an average city. We need to push the limits and create infrastructures for the future and not limited by the past.
You are correct...SE need giant projects to open up the area...

This piece about Kano is also amazing...and is all for abaout N4billion. What is N4 billion to SE governors?

Buhari, remember fuel was sold at N87 then, but you raised it to N145 and there is no impact in the economy with the increase. In short you had applied N1.4 trillion on subsidy more than the previous government. So how have you done well?

You will still win if you contest though...because of regional adjustments and not about of any performance. To break it down. The north will vote for you because of religion, the SW will vote to keep their VP...the SE might vote for you...just because the think it will be the shortest cut to their own presidency in 2023. That is the VERDICT.

Congrats in advance wink wink wink

Can you not see the irony in your response? You present an example of a Yoruba man successfully defending the entire Ndi'gbo to show how Yorubas and Hausas marginalize Igbos. Sorry...
Your idiocy has cut over the normal barrier...

Is it the Yoruba people that are marginazling the Igbos or the Federal goverment?

Free education is never the best. All cheap things are FREE.

We are talking about marginalization and not who confirmed it... You are utterly paraniod.

Remimadrid:
The Hausa's and the Yoruba's are not marginalising the Igbo's, they themselves are.
During the time of Jonathan, the Yoruba's had only one minister in his cabinet, instead of being shouting marginalization, they worked themselves back into reckoning, Igbo's won't do that, but when they have less representative in government, that is when we start to hear of Biafra.
In your small mind...Nigeria started in 2010...

Check this out...

Chief Gani Fawehnmi said about the Igbo in 1998. Hear Gani “
The Igbo by their contribution to the economic development of
this country are otherwise called the Jews of Nigeria. They are very hard-working,
very industrious, very innovative and very articulate people. The economic development of this country owes much to their contribution. I don’t like the way they have been treated since 1970. They still bear the scars of the Biafran crisis, and they are still being treated as if the civil war is still nascent, which is wrong.

They have been kept out of the security forces of this country at the strategic levels,
the law enforcement of this country at the most strategic levels, they are ignored, despised by the cabal. Even in the civil service, I do not know how many permanent secretaries are Igbo. I am not sure how many senior police officers are Igbo, and same goes for the Navy, Air Force, and the Army. They are one of the largest groups in this country. In fact, it is a nation within a nation. The major manpower pool of this country is being supplied by the Igbo. I was so angry when Abacha came to establish the Provisional Ruling Council (PRC) and the Igbo were not represented; I went to court to fight the cause of the Igbo.

It was after my suit in court, challenging Abacha and asking that PRC
composition be set aside by the court until Igbo were given their rightful
place that Abacha then reversed the composition of PRC and appointed some Igbo.”

Can you imagine? It's now a matter of statistics? undecided

Forget the past and focus on the present, in order to build a better future. A war happened - a war that could have been avoided - and with it came the horrors and tragedies that come with war. It was a war, not a Tea Party for Christian Vicars. There were crimes on both sides. Inhumanity on both sides. That's what wars have always entailed. Stop playing the victim because you lost. There were no heroes, and there were no victims. There were only tragedies.

Until we put all this behind us, Nigeria cannever progress.
You can never forget the past without atonement and genuine reconciliation...It happened in Germany and it happened in South Africa. The wicked FG has not shown any desire for reconcilation...The civil war fought 50 years ago is still going on. Where is the progress? The only progress is in the North and SW. See below...

When will the Igbo nation apologies for killing Ademulegun and his pregnant wife for no reason? When will they apologies for killing Ladoke Akintola without provocation? When will they apologies for killing thousands of Nigerians during the civil war? When will they apologies for bombing Lagos unprovoked during the start of the Biafran war? When will they apologies for the war crimes committed in the mid-west?

What attention do Yoruba's have that Igbo's don't have? What opportunities do I enjoy that my Igbo contemporaries don't enjoy? Enough of this emotional blackmail and playing the victims card always. Nobody owes you guys any apology.
When has the Igbos become coupist? Has the Benue people apologised for killing Murtala Mohammed?

On what Yoruba have that Igbo doesn't...we will come back to Lagos which you claim is owned by the Yorubas...eastern Nigeria need its own Lagos...You see your life?

See you mean Sowore and people like Balarebe Musa are also using balckmail...?

Playing to the gallery is not speaking the truth. What opportunities do I have in this country that Igbo's don't have? The primary school, secondary school and university that I attended in the south west all had Igbo's who were treated the same way as Yoruba's. We all competed equally for job opportunities after service. There are bad roads in the south east same as we still have in the south west and northern part of the country. So, what nonsense apology is Sowore talking about?
You are new in this country. All the government officials including the VP, Fashola...who visisted the SE confirmed that the SE, despite having the smallest size in the federation has the worse road in the country.

You are either a JJC or a mischieveous lying legend...like your brother Lai.

These are probably hungry unemployed school dropout.

Now the people building some of the so called projects they are bragging about in Enugu and Awka are from all over Igboland and doing their bit for their people.

Now compare that with these never do wells that are concerned with creating feud with other peoples' hardwork instead of contributing something positive to development of Igboland. Can you see how useless some of these kids can be?
Only one kid is comparing and posting pictures from other places. This thread is about Enugu. You may need to review your comment and apportion it in an appropriate manner. Thank you.
