PoliticsRe: We Are Not Biafrans, Akwa Ibom Group Says by coptic: 10:42am On Jun 26, 2017
ndoeyopbennet:
As an Akwa Ibom youth, I join hands with Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio to say NO to Biafra! We may have been in the first Biafra but things have changed since then. Biafra has nothing to offer to the average Akwa Ibom man other than Igbo domination.

I created a thread sometime ago concerning why ND minorities will not join Biafra but guess what? IPOB youths derailed it as in their usual fashion. These people are worst than Boko Haram. They cannot be reasoned with and these are the same persons you want the peaceful and easygoing going Ibibio man to share a country with?

Never!

AkwaCross Republic or Niger Delta Republic for us!

Atikke Akpenyong Nanga bAnyong, Usen Anie Inwang Amayem, Asuk Anyunyuk Akibbe.
Minorities are better off being on their own. An alliance with any of the big three won't yield much dividends. In truth, it may be even worse than in Nigeria.

Nigeria is basically on auto-pilot.

The substantive president currently recuperating in a faraway land for more than 7 weeks is supposedly speaking in tongues in a diverse country with an official lingua franca, the acting president is walking the fine, complicated line between unbridled loyalty and perceived ambition while the country is on edge.
I doubt the VP nurses any such ambitions. He's a man of few words and a diplomat to the core. People often mistaken that as playing politics.

The kind of foolish lies u guys tell just to gather likes for imaginary sale in your village. Just 2 days ago u were dishing out undiluted lies on the thread about Arabic and CRS, today u are at it again. This is your comment to someone who also claimed to have campaigned for Buhari. Are u by chance talking to your self here too. Bury that ipob head in shame!
So in the end, what will I use the likes for? To buy garri or akara? I speak what's on my mind without minding what anyone says or thinks. I didn't register on NL to gather likes.

Could you prove just one lie I told on the other thread, pray tell?

I am not Igbo; how then could I be Ipob?

My disappointment in Buhari is justified. Two years is enough time to show what you're made of, and sure, we have seen enough of him already.

That being said, I am against the name-calling of elders. I won't do it for any reason. So, you won't see me labelling Buhari kuku drinker, dullard, mad cow, or any sort.

The same week he went back to Maiduguri and begged the guy that bought his house to collect his money. He said he prepare to be kill bokoharam then to be kill by wickedness of his brothers.

hedonistic:
You know what's up. I think Evans is just playing to the gallery, if true that he implicated certain "prominent" businessmen. Which prominent businessman in Igbo land needs to share a mere $1m with a lowlife criminal like Evans? Doesn't make any sense.

Like you said, even me can draw up a list of 100 Igbo men that can conveniently pay $1m on a whim. They are too many of them all around the place, from Lagos to Abuja and beyond. No one needs any so-called informant to get this information.
You are being naive.

How much worth of goods do those business people sell that they'd not want more money?

According to you, a person who has #360m will turn down the opportunity to make an additional #144m, simply because s/he already has #360m, and not because he has conscience.

I can't believe there are people who still reason in this line of thought.

Oga, shun turenci.

That's my alma mater. I still have friends there including lecturers, post graduate students, and those based within the university community.

ABU is cosmopolitan, yes, I have always said that even here. But what you fail to understand is that this ABU is not the one of old, especially with the arrival of Ibrahim Garba as VC.

Recruitments are now done based on religious affiliation, just as gaining admission now depends on your religion or who you know. You should see the incompetent lecturers they recruited of recent, all in the name of having their own.

Religious bias has insidiously infiltrates your thoughts and behaviour. If not tackled, this will spell the beginning of the end for ABU as we all know it.

ABU stood tall due to its cosmopolitan nature, but all of that is changing now. If not checked, the institution will fall back into the same class as the likes of BUK and UDUS.

Sorry my brother, I don't mean to pry. Do you honestly believe in the islamization of Nigeria in this era? I am a christian and I feel greatly embarrassed when I hear such things.
Yes I do.

Funny right?

But I do because I have lived with them long enough to know this.

If you are Yoruba or live amongst them, then I'd understand why you feel embarrassed. However, if you have lived with the Hausa/Fulani, you'd know this for sure.

Do you know that Christians are being told to their faces, "convert or you miss this job opportunity!"? Now, if you don't or even doubt it, this still happens in the core north and especially in institutions like ABU, Zaria. I know this for a fact.

Maduawuchukwu:
Nice analysis there. The middle belt have been practically seeking an alliance with the south for ages. They have voted almost exclusively for southern backed candidates in protest to fulani methods but Southern politicians are nitwits. How many of them have tried to create a strong alliance with the middle belt? How many of them have met with them as it concerns this fiscal federalism issue? How many of them have gone on condolence visit to the middle belt? Our people no just sabi aeg.
I wonder why Southerners and the Middle Belt find it so hard to unite for a common cause.

A united South-middle Belt will leave the core north as clear minorities.

The sheer lack of will is quite disturbing.

In spite of the waves Buhari made in the last elections, he still lost in middle beltan states like Plateau, Taraba, plus the FCT. He won only by a slight margin in states like Benue.

And with the seeming awareness that's sweeping the entire country, thanks to Buhari and his murderous brothers, whichever candidate the middle belt and south settle for will easily emerge victorious. That's four out of six regions for pete's sake! Not counting the large Christian population in the NE.

All we have to do is speak with one voice.

But our leaders lack guts.

There is no difference between boko haram and biafra agitators. They are both fighting for the down fall of Nigeria.
You mean to tell me that there's no difference between people who go about their businesses within the ambit of of the law and those who go beyond it?

Like, there's no difference between known killers, destroyers and peaceful protesters?

So in your own world, a terrorist group, a deadly one at that, is the same as an unarmed separatist one?

Biafrans are a people with defined goals. Boko Haram doesn't even know what it is fighting for.

If you do not see the difference, then whoever saw you through school deserves a refund - in full!

The reality is that Middle Belt has the power to decide who becomes Nigerias President, it is not the Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani or Igbo.
They have the most arable lands and solid mineral resources which is part of the reasons for herdsmen invasion and displacement of communities.

But the Core North and Arewa group have effectively made the Middle Belt not to realize the enormous powers in their hands to change the course of Nigeria by craftily referring to them as NORTH CENTRAL or Arewa. All Northern Christians and minority tribes should reject the appellation called North Central and stick to that bitter word to ears of the Hausa and Fulani which is Middle Belt
