Culture › Re: Why Do Adults Find "How Are You?" Insulting? by cosade(m): 12:29pm On Oct 05, 2020 |
mikezuruki: I have noticed that adults in this part of the world perceive that to be insult.
They feel belittled and disrespected.
Why? It depends. If one’s first language is English then it shouldn’t be an issue. However, if your first language is an African native language like Yoruba then it could be an issue. The way the brain and mind work are to “think and process” information in one’s first language. Someone that grew up with Yoruba as his first language will found it strange for a younger person to ask him “How are you?”. Unconsciously, the person’s system will translate that to “Bawo ni?” or “Se daada ni?”. In Yoruba land, it’s the older person that normally ask the younger ones such questions. Same way, a Yoruba man whose first language is Yoruba could mistakenly report the speech of an elderly person starting with “They said......” instead of “He said......” So this more about conflict of cultures. |

In the advanced countriesMarital rape in United States law, also known as spousal rape, is non-consensual sex in which the perpetrator is the victim's spouse. It is a form of partner rape, of domestic violence, and of sexual abuse. Osagyefo98: Obiano is a clown and not only a clown but a fool.
Those traditional ruler for whatsoever reason, do not owe obiano any explanation or any loyalty.
before he became governor, they are there and will be there when he leaves. this is not less than been power drunk and autocractic
what sort of explanation do obiano want the traditional rulers to give him.......are they juvenile who owe obligations to their parents..
even if they collect money and count it in market places, that's not Obiano's business... Traditional rulers are appointed by government thus they are public servants. As of today, any traditional ruler traveling out of his state must inform his local government Chairman, neither a Commissioner nor the Governor. This is the position of the regulations guiding their appointments. As powerful as the Sultan, Ooni, Oba of Benin, Obi of Onitsha, Attah of Igala etc. are, the law, today placed them under their respective local government Chairman. |

Kobojunkie: You no get the memo now... Na enemies, all 6 of them.
Only I wonder why your enemies keep showing up in the form of defenseless bats. It’s only a poor and ignorant person that has imaginary enemies. Do you know that most of the newly developed Estates were constructed in places inhabited by animals including bats? Most of these displaced animals still strayed into their former natural habitat. We need to be enlightened in this country. |

App3: Thanks for your response.
Most claim they have the capital (money in cash), but you'll later discover they don't have the money they claim to have. They are relying on someone, a friend, family friend or relative to give them the money and the person disappointed them at the last minute when they're supposed to make payment to our company account.
If you don't have the details of any issue, stay completely away from it. It's not everything you should dabble into. Focus on things that concern you. It's not everything you must comment on. And if you don't have any positive thing to say, don't spoil another person's opportunity, stay away to avoid attracting a curse for yourself and creating problems for yourself.
It's not everything you see online that is not genuine. There are very genuine people out there and even online who want to do genuine business with people. And if a company wants to do business with a person or seeking someone for a position, it's one person they'll use to come online & put up their message out there & monitor it until they achieve & get what they want. Just as I'm doing as one of their staff.
So stop posting negative comments and stop dabbling into what does not concern you. In any case, Nairaland is a free and public site which does not belong to selfish people. It was created by a selfless person for the benefit of not only the entire Nigerians but for the whole world.
In any case did we ask anybody to pay any money upfront to us? So why are you so concerned and posting unnecessary negative comments? If you're paying for something, are you not going to see it and inspect it before you pay? Have you ever seen anyone who pays for a house or shop without seeing it or inspecting it? We allow the person inspect and see the place. But it's not possible for us to post the address online and we can only reveal the address to those we have interviewed. This is not just a shop to lease alone, this is a shop where we have an outlet of one of our business concerns (business centre/computer centre), so it's not something to be revealed to every dick and harry.
If you were to know the company involved in this thread, you'll realize that you're not even supposed to post what you posted above, because we're very genuine Christians who will never take anybody's money.
But the problem with many Nigerians and job seekers is that they are mostly dishonest with all sorts of lies in their CVs & fabricated stories just to get the job.
But we don't compromise on standards and on what we want. So we will never engage anyone who does not meet up with our requirements.
Kind regards. Only the guilty are afraid and resort to threats when issues are raised. Anyway, I can’t be threatened. Take note. |
Investment › Re: Very Lucrative POS Business Investment & Lease Of Premises_ by cosade(m): 1:41am On Dec 12, 2019 |
App3: VERY LUCRATIVE POS BUSINESS INVESTMENT & LEASE OF PREMISES:
We are a company involved in many business concerns including the running of POS terminals, Business Centres, Publishing, etc.
We are currently seeking to partially lease out to any business minded person/entrepreneur one of our shops in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos, where we currently run a business centre and which also served as a POS shop before. The location is a very busy place with large customer base on a daily basis and the person would be able to make a minimum of one hundred thousand naira or more monthly with the potential to even double that profit after some months.
The person will be required to run his/her POS business in the shop and use the shop alongside with other staff of the company who are handling the business centre for the company.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. It is advisable that the person should run the POS business by himself or herself or put a trusted close relative to run it if they will not be able to run it by themselves. This is because a lot of money is involved and it is risky to trust people with large amounts of money.
2. Payment of a non refundable lease sum of one hundred & fifty thousand naira for the first year lease and a caution fee of thirty thousand naira (N30, 000) which makes a total of one hundred and eighty thousand naira (N180, 000).
3. For the second year and subsequently, the lease sum is fixed at one hundred thousand naira (N100, 000) per year, which must be paid at the beginning of each year. This is however subject to increment as the company decides.
4. The tenant will be required to fill and submit a tenant data capture and verification form, 2 Guarantors' forms and to submit photocopies of their valid ID cards as well as that of their Guarantors.
5. The tenant will be required to sign an agreement with the company prepared by the company lawyers, where all the issues and obligations of both parties will be stated accordingly.
6. For those who don't yet have POS machines or baxi boxes, the minimum capital investment in this business (which must be cash available) must be six hundred thousand naira (N600, 000) to be able to make at least one hundred thousand naira (N100, 000) monthly profit.
7. The tenant will be required by the company to show/tender a statement of account where the N600, 000 is lodged to confirm the availability of the funds before access to the shop is granted. For those who already have POS machines or baxi boxes, they will be required to have a minimum of N500, 000 to run the business, which must be confirmed by us before access is granted to the shop.
8. All payments to the company for the lease are made via the company account accordingly.
BENEFITS OF THIS LEASE: 1. Set up of your POS terminal or baxi box, depending on the one you choose. You take care of all the expenses involved.
2. Use of shop and business premises.
3. Use of already existing office equipment and facilities in the shop. You don't need to buy any office equipment.
4. Use of already existing advert banners in the shop for your POS business.
5. Patronage by already existing POS customers who patronize us in the shop.
6. Advice and guidance periodically from the company staff who have run the POS business before.
METHOD OF APPLICATION: If you are interested in this lease and you can meet up with the requirements, then send a mail to us via citycentre377@gmail.com and state the following in your mail:
1. Your full names and gender.
2. Your location in Lagos.
3. Your mobile number.
4. The total cash amount you have in the bank to run this business. This is not money anticipated to be paid to you but money that must already be in your bank account.
Then if shortlisted, one of our staff will contact you for further discussions.
The subject of your mail should be: "Shop Lease For POS".
Kindly note that only shortlisted applicants for this lease will be contacted, and the person with the most convincing prospect for this business will eventually be selected.
Drop your comments below and I will respond to them.
Good luck! I thought you're seeking for just one person or corporate body to manage only one outlet at Ogba? So let us know the reason(s) why making a selection is so difficult from all the multitude that applied. NairaLanders shine your eyes! |

App3: Well thanks for your response bro.
It's nice to hear from you.
The Lord be with you.
First I won't be able to drop digits on a public forum.
Kindly follow the procedure by sending a mail to us with your details & we'll get back to you.
Now back to the issues & your questions. The person will make that money & even more than that in that business if he or she is hardworking, because we know how much we were making there before we decided to suspend the business there and moved it to another location because of trust issues/trusting staff with large amount of money. That's why we suggest that the person should run it by themselves or put a very close & trusted family member to run it for them.
It's a very busy place with lots of massive human traffic on a daily basis. And in fact we're even considering bringing the business back there, but we've decided to give an opportunity to others who are seeking job opportunities to make money for themselves, so that we can concentrate on other things which we do.
So it's a very lucrative business with a very good location.
So send in your details and we'll get back to you, so that we can discuss more and answer all your questions and concerns.
God bless you. Whenever I read such bolded statements in business deals, I become very uncomfortable. |
