Travel / Re: Why Do Nigerians Abroad Always Discourage People From Traveling? by cosade(m): 10:32am On Aug 19, 2019 |
On Monday, a new batch of Nigerian migrants will be deported from Germany to Nigeria. The migrants are expected to leave Frankfurt Airport at 8 am and land in Nigeria’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport around 2 pm and 3 pm. Although the number of migrants has not been ascertained, it was, however, reported that migrants will be picked randomly from different accommodation centres. Last month two batches of Nigerians were sent back home from the European country. “The flight will be from Frankfurt on Monday. For those who have been given the information, the plane will take off by 8 am and arrive in Nigeria between 2 pm and 3 pm. “Those who will be deported will be picked randomly from their different accommodation centres from 3 am till 5 am in different regions and conveyed to a central place and finally to Frankfurt Airport,” the Co-ordination Activist for Network Refugees 4Refugees, a political platform for refugees/migrant self-organization based in Stuttgart, Germany, Rex Osa, told The Nation. Osa added, “When their asylum application is already expired, they are obligated to leave the country. “For those who don’t leave voluntarily, they will be given a what is I can translate in English to mean toleration status. This status is not a resident title; it is to show that the person is still there because the deportation is hindered because of one reason or the other. “These people are picked up early in the morning without expecting the police. “Some would be picked up from work also. When the police arrive in their rooms, they would be allowed to pack things not more than say 64 kilos. The police will be standing to make sure the person does not escape.” The activist urged the federal government to come to the aid of the victims as many of them are coming with a myriad of challenges. “Among these people are many sick people. Nigeria should be expecting a lot of people who have psychological problems, and people with spinal cord problems leading to paralysis.” https://odinceblog.com/breaking-germany-set-to-deport-many-nigerian-migrants-on-monday/ |

muriunited: The Kyrgyz, a Muslim Turkic people, constitute more than half the population. The history of the Kyrgyz in what is now Kyrgyzstan dates at least to the 17th century. Kyrgyzstan, known under Russian and Soviet rule as Kirgiziya, was conquered by tsarist Russian forces in the 19th century. Formerly a constituent (union) republic of the U.S.S.R., Kyrgyzstan declared its independence on August 31, 1991. https://www.britannica.com/place/Kyrgyzstan 1 Like |

Cumtroller: N5,000 per month in 1994 was a lot, this was a time you can buy good "Belgium" Peugeot 505 for about N50,000. As a newly qualified Chartered Accountant in 1987, my monthly salary was N1,000 per month and was very good then. 1 Like |

Processor01: ExtraExtra, My observation is that you have a very loving, humble and responsible woman as wife. She's a gem. Please do not destroy your home because of ego. The property in question belongs to your wife. When she bought the land, if you had told her to write only your name on the purchase receipt I am sure that woman would have done so, but you did not. So it is not fair to now accuse her of appropriating to herself, what belongs to both of you, when it's clear that building documents bear the name on the land purchase receipt. ExtraExtra, don't lose a precious wife. Keep your home. Honestly, there is no shame in a man living in a property owned by his wife. I pray that the Almighty Lord will guide you to make a rational decision. Shalom. 9 Likes 1 Share |

sacramento1212: Her husband was aware she bought the land with her own share of the profit from their joint venture, so it was not in doubt that he must be aware that the land receipt was issued in the wife's name. Sequel to this, it is the name on the land receipt that will be on all government forms filled and documents generated thereon (such as building plan approval, certificate of occupancy etc.). So I don't understand why some people are saying she put her name as the sole owner. 3 Likes |

Coxtie: Coxtie: You're studying Philosophy in Nigeria and you want to move to US to study Liberal Arts. In your attempt to justify why you're changing from Philosophy to Liberal Arts, you highlighted what Liberal Arts degree can fetch you. Obviously, you were implying that Philosophy won't help you to actualize your dream. Why I said your reasons are laughable is because you can achieve same aspirations even with a degree in Philosophy. Like I said, if you wish you to study abroad simply say so, rather than struggle to make justifications that are laughable. That is my point. 2 Likes |

Coxtie: Bolded The reasons you gave made me laugh. Why are you struggling to distinguish between Philosophy and Liberal Arts? There is no need for this. Note that there is nothing wrong in desiring studying abroad, as long as you (or your parents) can afford it. 3 Likes 1 Share |
