Oga will you shut your dirty cunt of a mouth up? Even at your age you enjoy lying. Lecturing Job of N5,000 in 1994? What was minimum wage as a public servant then?
N5,000 per month in 1994 was a lot, this was a time you can buy good "Belgium" Peugeot 505 for about N50,000. As a newly qualified Chartered Accountant in 1987, my monthly salary was N1,000 per month and was very good then.

Oga, YOU ARE A WICKED MAN!!!

You start your write up with that nonsense to put the burden of keeping the marriage on the woman.
No Sir! You are the man, the head and the captain of that ship! If it goes down because of what you have presented here, then it is because of your pride and lack of wisdom.
ExtraExtra,

My observation is that you have a very loving, humble and responsible woman as wife. She's a gem. Please do not destroy your home because of ego.

The property in question belongs to your wife. When she bought the land, if you had told her to write only your name on the purchase receipt I am sure that woman would have done so, but you did not. So it is not fair to now accuse her of appropriating to herself, what belongs to both of you, when it's clear that building documents bear the name on the land purchase receipt.

ExtraExtra, don't lose a precious wife. Keep your home. Honestly, there is no shame in a man living in a property owned by his wife.

I pray that the Almighty Lord will guide you to make a rational decision.

Shalom.

sacramento1212:
Yes sir and that was why i mentioned that previously. The woman in question was first of all at fault here. Putting her name as the sole owner of the property without the consent of the husband on a property jointly built by both parties is fraud to me. That was what further angered the man even though his choice of words were wrong. But sincerely, this woman messed up big time.
Her husband was aware she bought the land with her own share of the profit from their joint venture, so it was not in doubt that he must be aware that the land receipt was issued in the wife's name. Sequel to this, it is the name on the land receipt that will be on all government forms filled and documents generated thereon (such as building plan approval, certificate of occupancy etc.).

So I don't understand why some people are saying she put her name as the sole owner.

GEJ did NOT try anything! angry UNILAG was already a brand, with a recognisable identity - both locally and internationally. Changing its' name, would have killed the brand. Moreover, why change its' identity without consulting the stakeholders? shocked It shows how insensitive GEJ was, at that time. There were more than 3 Federal Universities in the South, that had no recognisable identity or brand, whose names could have been changed or used to immortalise Abiola. Instead, GEJ stupidly tried to do a cosmetic name change with UNILAG. And it backfired big time. Silly man. undecided How clueless can a president be?
I am sure if UNN (University of Nigeria, Nsukka) was renamed after the great Zik, the Lions and other stakeholders would have rejected such ill advised decision. There was great wisdom in renaming the one in Awka after him.

Hello All,
Please I want to apply for my dad.
My aunt wants to invite him to the us and also sponsor his trip. He is a farmer and not fluent in English.
Please i have two questions
1. Will i be allowed to go in with him to translate, or an interpreter will be provided at the embassy.
2. How do I input his work information since he is self employed.
My aunty will be sending a letter, her passport page and statement if Acct. Thank you
From experience your Dad should not have any problem most especially if he is above 65 years old. However, if you don't have strong ties I will advise you not to waste your money in applying.

All this stress just for US B category visa ? rubbish! Never encountered anything other than basic where, why and what questions from VO's.
You get it fine you don't get it fine.
It seems people don't realize they are applying to visit USA to spend their money. Sometimes contributors make it sound like it is a privilege to be granted a visa to go spend a vacation in USA. May be i've been going to the wrong cities but based on what I've seen/encountered in NYC, DC, Arlington and Boston, USA is overhyped. I've had better vacations in Barcelona, Lisbon, Dubai and London
You should visit Batumi in Georgia (a small EuroAsian country), it's really value for money.

There are no limits on non-immigrant visas such B1, B2, F1 etc., that can be issued in a year.

I’m sure you really don’t know what self esteem means.. maybe. You should try and check it out..
and I want you to know that this same self esteem can lead you to self ego if you try not to bend it and water it down.. it will only make you loose a lot.. try and forget what people say and get what you want.. because “ the ends justifies the means”.. thats according to Machiavelli
No body will ask you how many people insulted you before getting a student visa.. every one will only congratulate you at the end..
leave self esteem out of this and get your student visa ..
Bless you plenty
I like your spirit, and wish you the best.

Please here is my new proposed transcript for the second time.. I’m reapplying..

VO: why do you want to change from philosophy to liberal arts?

disputes settlement, peace building in individual and in the nation at large.. it will also help me in the ethical aspect.. which is the science of moral conduct to impact morals on every members of the public
.
VO: why do you want to change from your present school to the US??
Me: my present school could not offer liberal arts as a course of study which I’ve desired to study all my life..my present school could only offer classroom education which education is far more than that.. we have little exposure to wide range of knowledge apart from the classroom.. the administrative processing is kind of slow due to low employees..

VO: what are your plans after graduation??
Me: I intend coming back to Nigeria and work with the law enforcement agencies.. the police department to be precise..
You're studying Philosophy in Nigeria and you want to move to US to study Liberal Arts. In your attempt to justify why you're changing from Philosophy to Liberal Arts, you highlighted what Liberal Arts degree can fetch you. Obviously, you were implying that Philosophy won't help you to actualize your dream. Why I said your reasons are laughable is because you can achieve same aspirations even with a degree in Philosophy.

Like I said, if you wish you to study abroad simply say so, rather than struggle to make justifications that are laughable. That is my point.

The reasons you gave made me laugh. Why are you struggling to distinguish between Philosophy and Liberal Arts? There is no need for this.

Note that there is nothing wrong in desiring studying abroad, as long as you (or your parents) can afford it.

Hello everyone, good morning.

I have read the whole thread and previous ones and I can say I was able to get quite a lot of my questions answered.

However, there is just one obstacle that keeps bugging me. I want to apply for a US tourist visa. I was denied in 2009 when I was in the UK as full time grad student and I only had a part time job. I could understand then why I was refused a tourist visa.

My sister is a US citizen, she lives there and she got her citizenship as she was the 1st set of people who won the visa lottery when it first started I believe in 1996.

How can I overcome the fact that I have a sister in the US that is a citizen? I just want to go for my annual leave. I go to the UK all the time, I've also been to France.

Any form of advise will be greatly appreciated.
My wife has siblings in US that are lawful residents, she has never been denied visa because of this. The fact that you have not misused your UK visa is a strength.

Sorry to say this but working in UAE while you're not a citizen of UAE will make it hard for you to get a U.S Visa because you've established a preference to migrate and work in a foreign land and which may happen if you travel to U.S ... so the question is where is your ties and why are you not applying from UAE?
If the job is very financially rewarding, it can be a strong tie even to the foreign land. I know of Nigerians working in Ghana that obtain their US visas in Ghana.

That is just about $350 per month.

I don't think a job of $350 per month in a foreign country would be seen as a strong tie.

Accommodation and air ticket would cost minimum of your four months' salary, not to talk of shopping.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

I have two children in Kansas, when the most senior applied, I told him if he's asked reason for choosing the University, he should tell the VO that his Dad wants him to be educated in US and this is the University he can afford.

The junior applied two years later, I also told her if they ask same question, she should simply tell them your brother is in that state and processed the admission, and that equally it's an affordable community college.

They were both given F1 visas.

All these "best University in research" bla..bla are gibberish.
