Did anybody stop you from saying 'yoruba amaka', omoluabi etc?

There is nothing wrong in promoting and praising oneself, afterall your yoruba leaders and politicians pay millions to Fuji musicians like Kwam 1, Obesere, Pasuma etc to sing their praises and adulated them.

Now why is it a problem if an Igbo man does something praise-worthy, and he is hailed with 'Igbo amaka' adulations?

I noticed it many years ago here on NL, how the word 'Igbo amaka' became a cause for accusing Ndigbo of tribalism and victimization when it doesn't in any way insult yorubas or anyone else?

I've seen people with car stickers saying 'proudly yoruba', it doesn't take away anything from me as an Igbo man but why do some yorubas take offense when we say 'Igbo amaka'? If I put a car sticker saying 'proudly Igbo', some yorubas will definitely raise eyebrow and accuse me of 'tribalism'. But how does it in anyway insult them?

Is it because history has conditioned you to believe we Igbo must hate ourselves as a condition of gaining your acceptability in Nigeria because we lost a war against the British in 1970s?

Wake up my good friend, that narrative no longer holds.

However, Oby Ezekwesili deserves credit and accolades rather heartless blackmail and mockery for coordinating efforts that helped many families in Chibok to get their kidnapped daughters.

I want to say that if not for the persistent and sometimes annoying advocacy of Oby Ezekwesili and her BBOG, Pres. Buhari's Government probably wouldn't have 'paid' so much to get so many of the Chibok girls back. Buhari did it grudgingly because as a former soldier he knew the consequences. Shortly after, those consequences surfaced as Bok analysiso haram's attacking capabilities became upgraded and better and we ended up losing more soldiers and civilans.

Nevertheless, Oby Ezekwesili deserves credit. Reno Omokri, also, reserves the right to cry but outright defamation and being a slave to the past are vices rather than virtues.

We should look into ways of generating revenue from various numerous sources. Significant Revenue from oil, significant revenue from agriculture, significant revenue from export, significant revenue from manufacturing, significant revenue from tourism, significant revenue from gold exploration, gas exploration etc. When we have this then we start talking about real growth, development that changes and transforms the lifes of the citizens. Until then, we have to rely on interplays of cbn monetary and fiscal policies which often gives a fake, weak and temporal improvement. The best economies of the world don't survive on policies alone, the backbone, the root of their economies lies in the real sector growth. We will continue to go round a viscous cycle until these things I highlighted are done. You want the Naira to be equal to dollar?, It's not policy work, and its not overnight thing. It takes conscious and deliberate attempts to developing the real sector.
