mrphysics: On Thursday, I went to the TAN office at the city centre to resolve my TAN card. TAN is the city's transport company's name. Transportation if you meet a certain criteria like have a CAF is free. I got my TAN card and applied for free TAN in February. It was supposed to be free from March 2020 -2021, but I noticed I'am still charged every month.
So I decided to visit them since the lockdown is over and I have free time. I went early so I won't have to join long queue. It was resolved. Apparently, they deduct money 2 months in arrears. So your transport fare in January is deducted in March, that of February is deducted in April. Therefore, the debit that I saw in April was for the month of February. My account was showed to me and for the month of March (May), its been free.
I left when this info was availed to me and I didn't forget to take some pictures. Everything is back to normal and people are going about their normal business but with the use of mask.
To use public transport system, facemask (Masque en Francais) is obligatory (The French most preferred word for "Compulsory/Mandatory"

mrphysics: Today, I remembered one incident that happened with me. I can't say if it was funny or not, it happened in Nigeria though. I just remembered it as part of the things I have had to go through in life.
So, I haven't been pressured by someone I respect so much to marry someone. For what it is, I detest referral system of relationship or friend-talk-to-friend means of getting into a relationship. I believe you have to go for what you want, by first discovering her, making your decision, and shooting your shot with whatever weapon or strategy that would produce the maximum yield/output/result.
I had this uncle of mine that I respect so much, he actually violated everything I believe about relationship and wanted me to do otherwise. As a young struggling and hustling guy, I believe marriage shouldn't be a means to end being broke/poverty I was making little progress and was though not satisfied by happy that I am taking some quantum steps. It happened that he was a friend to the sister to the wife of the executive governor of my state. This lady has a daughter who was studying law in a Nigerian university. He wanted me to marry her and have already gone ahead to discuss same with the ladies mother. I received a call while at work that I have to meet one relative of the governor and I was told the reason. I was supposed to call her and tell her when I will be coming. It was weird but it happened. Before going, I already lost interest on the girl, the mother, and the relationship. I called this woman and we fixed 6:30. It was in a hostel in Abuja.
About 6:15pm, I left the office and drove inside the hotel. Truth be told, my car was the most outdated there Though the governor was not in town, but they were Prado jeeps packed all over the place. But I won't be intimidated, this car I bought without government money or borrowing. I met the woman and I had the worst discussion of my life.
She told me everything about her, what she have been doing to train her children up, and how one of them (the eldest) is just waiting for visa to start his masters in Germany. She told me about the daughter, and how the son of the DG of one agency (name withheld) is interested in her but because she doesn't want money but love, she and the lady rejected the guy. In fact, she bored me with her discussions and stories and I never said a word. She thereafter told me to call her on Thursday (it was Tuesday) when she would be with the daughter, then introduce me to her and her to me and release her contact. After the 2 hours discussion, I took a bottle of water, thanked her for the time anyway and wished her a safe flight the next day (she and the daughter will be attending an event in Lagos on Friday, so she was to fly to Lagos where both of them will make their hair ahead of the event). Just imagine the details she was giving me.
I left there and they left my mind. I was just deleting contacts and came across her contact and wanted to document the experience as I deleted her contact.

I have carefully checked through one of the schools in France-Grenoboe to specific- and am highly impressed by the rigourous nature of the programme which includes 5 months internships, strong emphasis on research, opportunity to work with good companies just within the neighbourhood of the university and chance to specialise e.t.c. This and much more appears better than what Imperial, Birmingham is offering. Yes Imperial and Birmingham have the world class name but I am looking well beyond the programme.
I don't want to make decision base on name of the school or opportunity to live in UK only.

However I want to ask; 1) Does PTDF place scholars in universities particularly those who picked France, Germany, Malaysia and China? 2) Can an intending scholar be allowed to change from UK to F/G/M/C at this stage after interview has been conducted for MScs either by contacting PTDF now or bringing an admission from any of the countries? I wrote my first and only attempt in December and I had a perfect result ( L9, RWS- 8 ), thanks to the online materials. If you are anywhere around Ogbomoso or Ilorin, I can give you a compiled materials I used for the test at NO COST.

The day after my birthday, i.e on Saturday last week, I had in audience, two Nigerians who came to my residence to celebrate the belated birthday with me since our classes ended late on Friday.
They came with some drinks which were mainly alcohol and wine. We got the day started, playing different kinds of games while enjoying the drinks. On Sunday, I noticed some signs of headache which I excused to be probably the hangover from the previous day drinks. This degenerated into serious headache that Paracetamol couldn't help. I was scared, this is Corona Virus regime, a military or dictatorship regime where we have been mandated to remain indoors. I am aware of the emergency number to call however, I didn't want to raise any alarm until I am sure, it's Covid-19. Everyone was scared, my parents, girlfriend, etc. I was told to treat typhoid, I did, nothing changed. Someone recommended I added Malaria drugs which I did and the situation remained the same. I was down, seriously down, couldn't look at my laptop screen for long. However, I wasn't coughing, but I had serious headache, my body was shaking, and the rest of it.
I remained with my self medication since I can't go to the hospital as I may be exposed to the most dangerous Covid-19. Having called all Pharmacist friend and uncles, the only thing to treat was Worm. My stomach was worsening as I couldn't lay on my bed for a long time. It was a scary period but after I took the Worm medicine, I began to get myself.
I had to indulge into indoor/inroom exercises and thank God I am fully normal and what I feared most didn't come upon me.
I am sure you guys were praying for me directly or indirectly, to this, I am ever grateful.

Few things has happened in the past. Previously, we were two Nigerians, but currently, I am the only Nigerian or say African in my class. Something good happened and my classmate left for good. I am now a lone ranger, but a committed one.
The prevalence of the recent pandemic-Covid19 has again raised a lot of questions in the mind of people, a big issue in the hearts and heads of conspiracy theorists. Whatever, you view about it is, one thing is sure, it is real and it kills. So guys, stay safe and always protect yourself. Do not propagate fake news or rumors about it as it could trigger panic. Also, remember our population is an ignorant one.
A lot of things has been cancelled, infact, unlike Nigeria that when a health minister gives information about Covid19, and Obasanjo says otherwise and people would believe Obasanjo more than the health ministers, the French people follow scientific recommendations and government directives. Ever since the outbreak, we have been informed through all means on how to protect ourselves. Wearing gloves doesn't solve the problem except you work in the hospital. We have been informed to always wash our hands, stay away (for now) from public gatherings, and do not visit the elderly (in other not to infect them). Follow same process too guys. We care so much about you guys and we want you all hale and hearty.
The world is actually not as big as we think. It's spreading.

volli: This seems to be the reseaon they disqualified a lot of people that were initially contacted. I have a similiar problem. i was having verification problem with my first account thus the reason why i created a second account. Their database seems to be overly simple thats why it can't sieve out those that actually submitted more than one application. i have persisted in insisting I submitted only one application but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I'm still going to persist because I'm sure something can be done it just a matter of talking to someone with empathy or getting through to the right person.
mrphysics: Well, let me try to address this so people will be informed.
Whether or not you edit your SOP, selling it to the panel is the most important thing. You won't be graded based on what you wrote but how you sold it. Infact, they will grade you immediately you leave the panel.
During my time, I was with them, when they graded the last person that did before me. All of them will grade you and I think the average will be your score.
Like someone said above, study your SoP very well, and sell it well. Let your SoP and your defense be top notch.
