So while i was about to to schedule the appoitment, i realised i needed to to make the payment to the embassy i a meant to attend the interview . So i made another payment online.

How to i request for a refund of the first visa fee i made via my GT bank app?

I will appreciate your contributions.

That’s a long shot!, I really can’t answer that, there are lots of factors to consider. Are you applying from within the US or outside?
If you’re within the US, was your application concurrently filed (I-140 and I-485 together)?

Generally, people say adjustment of status (for those applying for greencard within the US) is faster than consular processing (applying from outside the US).

You stand a better chance of getting your visa in the UK. Dates are readily available for students and chances are high provided you have ur BRP valid. But u need to be ready to defend your change in program/second Msc.

i think you should be asking the CRS calculator this question not me 😬. The 0.5 difference between 7.5 and 8 in listening is about 50 or 60 points in the crs.

My wife is a registered nurse, I work as a secondary school teacher, I went into teaching simply because of the limited opportunities here in Uk, I told myself I wouldn’t do dirty jobs here in England just for survival. I’m a bioengeer, I lived in Norway for three years I had a better life over there but I had to move down to uk because of my kids, I always wanted my kids to grow up in an English speaking environment. Let me explain something to you people who have very good jobs here in uk, I mean they earn over 70k pounds are not doing better than I am because of the tax, when you earn over 50k pounds you get taxed by 40percent, at the end of the year their salaries and mine does not have much difference. The country is structured in such a way that they don’t want you to stack to much money in your account. You see lots of people with masters degree working in care homes, ware house doing all sorts of odd jobs they have got no choice. Have got two siblings in Canada one completed his masters few months ago he got a job worth 95k cad a year, it’s difficult to get such here na only grace of god fit make you get am for here. Lots of business you can venture into compared to Uk. I’m sure the role you claimed you got with nhs is data analyst which is around 29k to 32k per annum, if you remove tax your take home is way lesser than guys living in Canada. If you take your brother’s advice I’m sure you won’t regret it.

My own opinion>>> Both are cool career... but personally for me I prefer cybersecurity for the prestige and how cool it is.. couple with less stress. Data science pays well and it is easy to enter as an entry level with little or no experience, but cybersecurity is difficult to get into as an entry level applicant and with you being a foreigner you have the problem of security clearance, but then anything is possible. So I will suggest you go for the one you like but don't forget to stay this country for months without job no be joking matter... so opt for data science.

My answer depends on your residency status.

US permanent resident or citizen, you can afford to do anything you like and recover at your own pace.

Non-resident, do the one where you can be highly proficient at before job search starts and also has a lower bar to entry; this is where data sc1ence wins.
If your love of cybersecurity hasn't waned in the near future, you can reroute yourself to that field after you are settled in and have regularized your stay.

My path/plan is similar.

I started out as an Operator in a Harddisk drive manufacturing company, did that for two months earning $16 or $18 an hour (cant remember) then got a job in Circuit Board manufacturing and Assembly where I spent over a year. As will be said there for future generations; I learned the job real fast - I had to because I wanted to gather as much as I could in the shortest possible time.

Currently in Hyperscale Computing, Storage and Networking servers+racks manufacturing (this is how I started researching on Networking + Analytics); a step higher from component manufacturing but Similar to my first two jobs as it is still in contract manufacturing.

The dream is to stick to Hardware manufacturing (someone must manufacture this in person), avoid the semi-conductor industry (volatile), be the best in my field (all applicable certifications + Analytics skills) and find a company that 'owns the product' (full product life cycle management or something similar) and grow with them.

My Last stop will be roles where the product manufacturing, quality or usage is affiliated to the government (requires security clearance) so I will be fully solid.



- As Zend has said and from information available online, stick to AWS as no other vendor of cloud services comes close.
- Streamline your plans, don't be a jack of all trades and master of none. Most times, aim to serve two masters: Networking + Cloud architecture as an example, and mine is Hardware Quality + Analytics/Business Intelligence.

A mistake I see people doing as an example is claiming: Process/Manufacturing/ Industrial/Safety etc etc as all the roles you can fit into. Cut back and concentrate on a few.
