Christianity EtcRe: Is The Expression, "God Helps Those Who Help Themselves Biblical"? by Cpumping(m): 6:52pm On Sep 21, 2014
Udoabasi: I have tried on my own to find out whether there is any bible portion that supports the expression, "God helps those who help themselves". What I've discovered however is that the bible seems to teach the opposite. Jesus Christ did not come for those who can help themselve but for those who are helpless. That is why the bible teaches total dependence on, and acceptance of the will of God. Suprisingly, many christians, even the clergy, use this expression as if it was spoken by Christ himself. Others use it to justify themselves when they go contrary to the tenets of christianity. It is for this reason that I want to know, perhaps, there may be a verse in the bible that such expression could be found. Anyone who knows of such should please post it. Thanks.
It isn't in the bible. It was actually quoted by [b] BENJAMIN FRANKLIN [b/]

Maybe dere might be verses in the bible dat support dis or refute it.
But one thing I noe is 'it isn't a bible verse'

SportsHow Nigerian Players Fared During The Transfer Window by Cpumping(op): 9:50am On Sep 03, 2014
By Olorunwa Lawal

The 2014 football transfer window recorded some
major signings of quality players between European clubs.
Premier League clubs smashed the record for
spending on transfers in the summer window after
splashing out £835m on new players. Manchester
United led the way, with a record for an English club
of £150m spent.
Some of the headlining moves includes the transfer
of Luiz Suarez to Barcelona (from Liverpool), Cesc
Fabregas to Chelsea (from Barcelona); Di Maria to
Manchester United (from Real Madrid), Falcao to
Manchester United (from As Monaco), Balotelli to
Liverpool (from Ac Milan), Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal
(from Barcelona) and many more.

Nigerian players were also involved in the transfer
heat across Europe. Although none of them made
any headlining move.
Below is a list of Nigerian players and their transfer
escapades;

Brown Ideye to West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion broke their club transfer
record to sign Brown Ideye from Dynamo Kyiv in a
£10 million deal.
Ideye who was part of the Super Eagles triumphant
team at the 2013 African Nations Cup, made his full
debut for the Baggies in a 3-0 defeat against
Swansea over the weekend. Despite his slow start
to life in England he has been back by manager
Alan Irvine to come good.

Victor Moses to Stoke City
Nigerian winger Victor Moses joined Stoke on a
season-long loan from Chelsea. Moses, who was on
a season loan at Liverpool last season, has already
made two impressive appearances for the Potters
so far this season.
Although, the winger was accused of a drop in form
during the Super Eagles campaign at the World Cup
in Brazil, it is believed his move to Stoke will give
him more playing time, a feat he didn’t enjoy at
Anfield.

Kenneth Omeruo to Middlebrough
Nigeria international defender Kenneth Omeruo
returned to Championship side Middlebrough for a
second consecutive season-long loan spell from
Chelsea. The 20-year-old, who featured for the
Super Eagles at the World Cup, was expected to
remain in the English Premier League following his
impressive display at the World Cup but Jose
Mourinho had other ideas.

Nnamdi Oduamadi to FC Crotone
The 23-year-old moved from AC Milan to join Serie B side Crotone on a season-long loan deal.
Oduamadi will spend his fifth consecutive loan spell in the Italian lower division in an attempt to
convince the San Siro officials that he is ready to
put on the famous Red and Black shirts.
Oduamadi was a dropped out of the Super Eagles
final team that made it to the World Cup earlier this
year. A move to the Serie B is what he needs to
have more playing time, something he has not
been enjoying at AC Milan.

Other transfers include;
Odion Ighalo (from Serie A side Udinese to Watford
on a season loan)
Macauley Chrisantus (from Spanish second division
side Las Palmas to Sivasspor)
Tom Adeyemi (from Birmingham City to Cardiff City)
Jordon Ibe (from Liverpool to Derby County on a
season loan)
Jonathan Obika (from Tottenham Hotspur to
Swindon Town)
Abiola Dauda (Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian
SuperLiga to Vitesse Arnhem)
Joseph Akpala (from Werder Bremen to Turkish side
Karabukspor)

One surprise for most Nigerians was the
decision of Jose Mourinho to keep Super Eagles
midfielder, John Mikel Obi.
There were speculations of the Portuguese born
Coach, letting go the midfielder after major
signings, and his dismal display at Brazil 2014 FIFA
World Cup but it wasn’t the case. Mikel appears to
be very much in the plans of the Special One.

easyelliot: I agree 100%, Connery was and still is the best, I mean even the unofficial bond Never Say Never Again , where he played an older semi retired Bond was fun.

I think the producers of Bond are making a big mistake. After Casino Royale they have taken away Craig's natural charisma, please watch Layer Cake for proof; and turned him into inferior copies of other characters. In QOS they turned Bond into Jason Bourne and in Skyfall he became Bruce Wayne with a back story.

The next bond movie needs to bring back the humor, gadgets and girls and let Craig have more fun, he is very capable.
Amen to 'girls and gadgets'
did craig get tail in any of his movies? huh grin grin

Briareos: Close call between Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. But Craig's Bond is too Jason Bourne-y.

Csami: That can't be true. Didn't u see the 6?

Well op I saw something similar by this time last year. Movies some kind people were looking forward to and guess what? Transcendence, spiderman, monument men, noah were all mentioned. But in 2015, I think I'll take them as they come. No high hope so I can justify the reason I slept off while watch a movie.
Lol, man of steel show me shege. I never expect too much again.

tuagbo: Sean Connery is my best.A combination of suave and rugged. I still don't know why Daniel Craig is so popular as "Bond".He is just too wooden and sullen and the only good bond movie he has featured in has been "Casino Royale."The rest have been less than average "action?" "drama?" movies
Exactly. He is just too 'stiff'.
TV/MoviesRe: Who Is Your Favorite Bond (007) Actor? by Cpumping(op): 10:12am On Aug 26, 2014
JUHABACH: daniel craig. most realistic potrayal of bond so far
Really? Daniel Craig? The guy is just too physical. Unlike the other bonds. They r really cool wit plenty charisma. Craig looks wd not allow him to portray that calm-charismatic bond look.
TV/MoviesWho Is Your Favorite Bond (007) Actor? by Cpumping(op):
The Ian Flemming bond film series started in 1962 with 'Dr No' starring Sean connery as Bond. As of 2014, there have been 23 Bond film series. The latest being 'Skyfall' in 2012 starring Daniel Craig.
Daniel craig has also being signed for the twenty-fourth and twenty- fifth Bond series.
In between the twenty-three films, there have been six actors who have successfully brought the Bond character to life.
•Sean Connery (1962-1967, 1971)
•George Lazernby (1969)
•Roger Moore ( 1973 - 1985)
•Timothy Dalton (1987- 1989)
•Pierce Brosnan (1995 - 2002)
•Daniel Craig (2006 - present)

I still remember vividly sean connery in Dr. No, Diamond are forever and goldfinger; Roger Moore in the spy who loves me, the man with the golden gun and many other old bond films.

Pierce Brosnan remains my best Bond actor. I think he was the perfect bond.

Who is your best Bond actor.

Bond 24 isn't the actual title. It is just a working title. Depicts the number of bond movies made.
Daniel craig - you just have to bare wit the guy. He has 2 more bond movies to go including this.
I personally think he is too stiff & doesn't have the charisma of the other bonds.

Yeah Mission impossible is a movie to watch out for. But if history is anything to go by, the most anticipated movies usually fall short. I v learned to keep an open mind.
