I'm a guy and married and the friend here is a female. I noticed she was not real, when she started behaving as if all I taught her in the office about her job roles which I have handled before her employment were never taught by me.....when she started having issues with the intelligent presentations I make during office meetings...., when she started becoming sarcastic and now oppose my suggestions or recommendations to our operations or challenges...., When she started comparing me with other guys she meets outside or even within our work environment,.....even when she compared my subordinates in my team to me, the same subordinates she advises me on how to handle with bad advice whether...and finally when we had misunderstanding and she suddenly forgot all the past good moments we once shared and chose to be spiteful, defamatory and malicious despite all attempts to reconcile ...kpekus friendship can be funny

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My First Major Job Interview In Germany (true Life Story) by cracky2(m): 2:18pm On Jul 07, 2022
monkmike:
That was me 4 years ago – after landing my first major job in Germany. And in no time I was travelling around Europe..... until the next opportunity came.... and then next, and the next....

I look fresh there, it was about a year after my postgraduate studies (M.Sc. Infection Biology, University of Lübeck). When I received the invite to the interview, I was super excited; positive, enthusiastic, confident……… and all optimistic feelings you can think about. I have had interviews before then, but they were all virtual, this was going to be the first physical interview.

You must have heard/read that you can work in Germany without the German language; that's true, so read on.

The job post was in English; Company’s website: in English; no option to even change it to German or other languages. My job application was sent in English; First feedback to the application sent in English; Invitation to interview was sent by the company in English! Wow! What more could I ask for? Although I could speak some German then, but having a job interview in English was way much better for me.

I could not ask for more – on top of the above, the offer was in Munich – one of the highest paying cities in Germany. Even if you will probably spend most of it on house rent and perhaps groceries, Munich is a beautiful city to leave in, so it’d all be good anyway.

I was so sure of getting the job and was already making accommodation plans. I prepared in the best ways possible – at least, I thought and rehearsed my speeches and possible answers to potential questions a million times. Since the interview would be in English (logically it should), I was confident in myself – actually, I was overconfident.

Anyways, just in case I had to talk to someone at the reception, I pocketed precisely enough German to get me across to the interview room (I thought to myself… lol ?). Well, things started changing slowly when I arrived a bit too early – 20 minutes before the time and was informed (by one of the interviewers, in German), to go and hang around for a while and come back just shortly before the interview time: Welcome to Germany – the land of precision! Being late is not accepted, coming too early praised is neither accepted.

I came back right in time as was asked to. To show good manners, I exchanged greetings with the interviewers (two of them) in German, hoping that’d be it (my pocketed German was already running out!!??). The first interviewer proceeded to introduce himself, and then the second, and then I did – all in German. And I thought to myself, ‘when will the real interview begin?’

The real interview continued as the first person started describing the company. I had to interrupt, to ask if the language of the interview is German: ‘Oh yes, it is. Didn’t you know that?’ He asked. I was like, ‘no! I did not expect it at all………’ I explained how every step so far in the application process was in English until now. The first tension in the meeting ensued – I was caught off guard and I started sweating in my nice suit! Lol, ? I laugh about it today, but not then.

To cut a long story short, we had some arguments on which language to interview in. Of course, they understood my points but wouldn’t accept it since it is a German company and most of the colleagues in the laboratory are native German speakers – there was hardly a chance that I would work in English. I should have thought about that earlier. In the end, we had a compromise – the interview was conducted in Denglisch! Heard that before?

That experience taught me that, you could never be over-prepared for anything. When you are taken by surprise and feel disappointed, let it be a lesson that’d propel you to the next level. I learned my lessons that day and sent all subsequent applications in German ONLY – thanks to the good friends that supported me then. If the communication turned out to be in English, that’s several pluses for me!

Amongst other things to learn, I sure did learn the following:

Be open to changes and if one way does not work, try another
You could never be too prepared – look deeper than the logical procedures
Prepare for the worst. If things go all Gucci, then you can call it luck!
Join an active study abroad community, ask questions and make meaningful contributions.
Keep expanding your network of professional friends, especially those abroad; you need them for their experience.

What experience have you had attending job interviews abroad?

Or do you have questions on how to prepare for a job interview abroad?

Share your thoughts/questions.

Can I have your email..to communicate something things I need to find out

Hahaha...Ruffy Baba is asking a pedestrian and near infantile question. I am not sure Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV would ask such question that sounds like beer parlour discussion to the point the person being interviewed ignored him.

I just hope the media will take its job very serious as we approach 2023, to ask very important questions to empower the electorates on the quality of each candidate.

What makes the question pedestrian..however simple the questions appears, these are questions you should have answers to before the man becomes your president of that it is if wins. In Western world every aspirant accepts all sort of questions and answer accordingly they don't dulge questions or call it foolish. Answering questions naturedly is part of the credentials the electorates use to vote in civil communities.

Politics / United Vibrant Youths Support Group (uvysg) Pledges Support For Yahaya Bello by cracky2(m): 11:15am On Jan 12, 2022
An upcoming youthful political and national leadership interest group in Asaba Delta State, UNITED VIBRANT YOUTHS SUPPORT GROUP has pledged support for His Excellency Yahaya Bello, towards his 2023 presidential ambition. The group has beamed their searchlight on the young vibrant governor who they tagged "Yahaya Bello, the right president for the times we are in". The group in their youths conference held in Asaba on 8th of January this year, where they gathered youths and personalities from all works of life in Nigeria said that their decision to go for the person of Governor Yayaha Bello, as next President are hinged on many factors which include the following:
1. The future is now.. Nigerians have had developmental setbacks since the start of democratic leadership in the hands of old visionless leaders who have no interest in the betterment of Nigerians, noting that only President Yar'dua and Goodluck Jonathan were the young presidents since 1999 who have led Nigeria but had short-lived tenures and visions. The young Presidents who understand the long term impacts of mental, socio-cultural and infrastructural development are the only ones that can effect the kind of development Nigerians need at a time like this
2. The economy of Nigeria based on statistics, have suffered major shortcomings in the past five years. Nigerians at this time need a young president who understands the economic trends and solutions to Economic crises and to this end, the Group has discovered the economic solutions in the person of Governor Yayaha Bello for the coming election year
3. The world has revolved exponentially across Technology divides to advanced digital technology and most of our old politicians have been finding it very difficult to flow with the trend, probably the reason no functional digital school and no digital export products from Nigeria except for individual nigerians who have excelled in digital technology on their own. This lag in technological development in Nigeria is partly based on the obsolete and manual systems of handling things by our aged leaders. mean while, for Nigeria to completely shift from analogue to digital systems , we need that young president who can effect this revolution and that has been discovered through deep research and findings in the person of Governor Yahaya Bello
4. The unemployment rate in nigeria has soared so high over the past two decades without a near future hope of change in the jeopardized youths lives . it is a bitter truth, but it’s reality. we no longer need presidents that will call Nigeria youths lazy, tell the youths to go back to farm, put youths on thirty thousand naira stipend with struggles even and other similar situations. it is not enough to call youths lazy, empower youths with stipends without sustainability plans and programs, or ask them to create their own jobs, go to farm etc, without enough credit support base for sustaining the created jobs; as businesses don't last without continual financial and coaching supports; all these are what our aged presidents or intending presidents don't understand, most of the aged leaders had privileges in their prime ages to even make choices of job they wish to do, before climbing the ladder to whatever leadership position they hold today and the same opportunities are the youths have been denied in over two decades and counting, hence the strong desire and push for the person of Governor Yahaya Bello come 2023.
5. Industrial revolution is presently a world business of the day. every country and continent of the world are striving industrially to either produce their own essential and miscellaneous commodities even at complex levels such as car productions and be recognized at foreign exchange, but Nigeria under the past and present administration has continued to import everything even a toothpick. Nigeria in the past, had textile mills, steels mills in Delta and kogi state, flour mills and many other raw materials with the potentialities of bringing about industrial production systems, but all these systems have remained illusions under aged presidents administration. However, it's not yet late since the world is still existing, to have the kind of industrial revolution we need in Nigeria. Nigerians have the urgent need to install a president with the temerity, capacity, projections, audacity, intelligence and methodologies to bring about industrial revolution and prosperity to nigerians and that we have found in the person of Governor Yahaya Bello
These were the points marshalled out by the group. They have urged and are still pleading to all good spirited Nigerians whom the group believes are equally praying and clamoring for a better Nigeria, to drum their supports for Governor Yahaya Bello in the coming Presidential election. They also emphasized that all eligible Nigerians should make sure they obtain their voters card as that is the power with which they can vote in their choice leaders in 2023. The President of the Group has urged the public to watch out for the upcoming events of the group and support the good move of The UNITED VIBRANT YOUTHS SUPPORT GROUP. The plans for branches to be lunched in the thirty-six states of Nigeria and FCT is ongoing as well as the group believes all well meaning Nigerians have to support the good move . The group can be reached on 08124358667, 09071625432
