souldust: craig why dont you go for some lecture over here?

https://www.nairaland.com/1352266/jonathan-nigeria-army-day-celebration/3
So in other words, colonial-era practices make sense to present-day Naai-geria?

So, why argue with me when I say you are stuck in an era?

You've just proved it.

sambos994: Now did I say I have an idea? All i'm saying is that you and I don't know but maybe the govt. knows.
There's no evidence of their knowing and if they do know, then the blood of those kids is on their hands. They are useless, if that is the case. Useless.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 6:07pm On Jul 09, 2013
sambos994: Maybe the govt. knows.
Which goes back to the results issues. "Maybe" the gvnt knows? But there is no evidence of their knowing. There are no results. People are still dying. If your government knows and another life is lost tomorrow while the leader remains at large, your government is useless and deserves to be hung - the whole lot.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 6:03pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: Just like your gangs and multi-talented criminals are killing for divisions in South Africa? We know your story! Let terrorists be terrorrists and criminals be criminals if that's what you mean? We are dealing with the terrorists while you spend time shying away from activities of your kith and kin. Need I say more?
The point does not change.

You have terrorists today because you are divided.

You cannot find their leader because you do not know where he is.

You do not know where he is hiding. In which country and why.

You do not know who gives them money.

You do not know who plays on your weaknesses today.

MikeZa is right - Naai-geria is too divided and Bokko Harram is a prime example of that. Even your soldiers are accused of helping BH.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 6:01pm On Jul 09, 2013
sambos994: So the point went from results to division of Nigeria. You make no sense what so ever. I gotta go, till then continue with the idiocy you have going on here.
The point has always been divisions. You people decided to argue "success of your operation" and that you know where the leader is. So I took you there. There are no results because you cannot find the leader. In other words, you have no idea who's hiding him and why. You haven't found him.

You are clueless.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:58pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: As usual the recyling kicking in. Military operations still in full throttle and yeilding massive successes and this clueless civilian from far away South Africa, wants to show us his 33% matriculation result? We can show you those nasty things in South Africa that your cameras are hiding from the world. Please don't go! Stay!
Clearly you have decided you will try and shift attention to an irrelevant issue. Matriculation. Luckily, I won't bite.

The point is simple. Nigeria is divided and it is locked in a battle for its very soul. The battle is in the form of Bokko Haram. (oh, leaving ethnic warfare aside for a moment)

Mike said very clearly that your divisions are a weakness. You do not know who fund Bokko Harram. You do not know who has given their leader refuge.

In other words, you do not know who's playing on your divisions today.

Everything else is irrelevant to the point.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:53pm On Jul 09, 2013
sambos994: You think it takes a couple of months to finish off a terrorist group? It's 11 years and counting and there's fighting in Afghanistan. It took almost 4 decades to get rid of the IRA. It took three decades to get rid of the Islamist rebels in the Philippines. It's been two months and you're calling this a failure?
Irrelevant. The point is not the length of time. The point being argued is that Naai-geria is divided today and Bokko Harram is evidence of that. Naai-geria is divided and blood is currently being shed in the name of divisions.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:50pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: Divisions by infant CraigB's decree or wishes?
I and Bokkooo Haram it would seem. Not only do they wish for divisions. They actualy kill for them. Dozens of innocent children. Dead and burnt alive. But noooo, we will shoot the messenger today.

chris365: the guy doesn't have brains at all.. I asked him to give me a soure where shekau's faction of boko haram begged for mercy and cease fire he's still begging me to eplain what i mean. Is the boy dull or what?
Where did I make reference to mercy begging? Such that you could ask me for that source. Show me that, please. Paste my post on here.

Don't make that my indaba if you jump to conclusions and answer before you comprehend what is being said.

Typical. You think everyone follows your type of logic.

There are no results.

Operation failure, methinks.

Where are the results?

GidiNaijaPikin: Why not ask Snowden the in limbo fugitive US NSA spy to help you leak the evidence from the Nigerian Armed Forces! Na today? Abeg commot for road jaare!
Snowden isn't the topic. Naai-jeria's not knowing who their friends and enemies are is. And then you want to debate when told that people can play on your divisions?

Commot for road grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:34pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: If you can not read and make sense out of what you read then it's not my problem. Stew in your misery boy!
The only people that can't read are those who keep talking about the irrelevant constitution and some non-existent section of the statute. So, give it up and argue something else. We all have presidents as commmander-in-chief, but they don't run around in military apparel.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:31pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: We know what we know,
Yes - which is nothing at this stage. No evidence.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:30pm On Jul 09, 2013
sambos994: Maybe Nigeria knows where he is right now.
Maybe Naai-geria knows?

We are yet to see any evidence of that. Unless you can produce it?

The only evidence we have is that of a state of emergency and a deployment of your military all over the place.

We have no sign of the Bokko Harram leader.

Don't give us speculation.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:26pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: We are the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not the USA or Lesotho or South Africa! You are in no place to reinterprete our Constitution fron the general and codified way we have always understood and accepted it since 1999.

Abeg park one side!
Yes. A federal republic that can't produce constitutional support for their argument.

This thing is easy. Simply say "there is no constitutional support for this, but we like it". End of story. We will leave you alone in the knowledge that you like things like that. Don't give us stories because we won't just sit here and lap it up.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:24pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: Your warped sense of reasoning is evident. Did President Olusegun Obasanjo meet the requirements to be elected CIVILIAN President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Was President Olusegun Obasanjo the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 1999? By the end of 1979 General Obasanjo was in the Nigerian Army and not the Navy. If he wore this well-fitted Naval uniform post-1999, then you need to go check-in for brain overhaul session! You lost your sense of reasoning long ago.

Show us a similar image of yourself as an infant typing away trash on a Mac computer!
Like I said I've got time to spare here ...

============================

See Obasanjo's pics below.

You have stop pushing the constitutional argument because you can't produce the relevant section of your constitution - good.

Obasanjo - the soldier. I see him, yes. Military, he is.

Where is GEJ the soldier?

Stuck in an era is Naai-jeria.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:21pm On Jul 09, 2013
sambos994: And how do you know that?
Because no one in Naai-geria has demonstrated any capacity to know.

Are you going to show us that you know?

We wait.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:14pm On Jul 09, 2013
souldust: but we know where dem dey get arms from. Why you no go sit down already!
You have no knowledge of how they sustain their operations. No clue whatsoever. Even now, Naa-geria doesn't know who has given the Bokko Harram leader refuge. Where and why.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:08pm On Jul 09, 2013
souldust: ode! Ur reply just show say wetin i yan too gbona fele fele for u to counter. I no fit yan abeg.
Bokkko Haram is the prime example of division. Who funds Bokko Haram? Do you know? Don't tell me they get their money from kidnappings only. As of today,Naai-geria has no clue where BH get their money from.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:06pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: The Constitution is crystal-clear the President is the "Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria" ... .
And so does that of the US, South Africa and many other countries.

May we have the part that says he shall be entitled to wear Naai-gerian military colours, please. Where in your constitution does it say that?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 5:03pm On Jul 09, 2013
chris365: guy if you were sensible you would go back and read my post. You really don't know how to read sha. What a shame.
No, I want you to expose the irrelevance of your request. Don't leave it wish-washy. State clearly what you want from me and why.

You keep typing stuff instead of clarifying your request.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 4:55pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: You need some education now. So here it goes ...

The Nigerian Constitution (1999) recognises the President as a civilian citizen elected for the people by the people (democratically). President Obasanjo (a retired General) therefore was a civilian when he assumed office! The photo posted is of him in his full Naval outfit as the elected President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed forces of Nigeria ... which of course conforms with the constitutional requirements of his office!

So which of the Obasanjos are you refering to? The one of 1979 or of 2007? Wake up kid!
I have some free time to help you waste! But then, nice effort going with your keen interest and research on your beloved Nigeria. Oh! don't deny it! grin
YOU need an education.

AndrewZA, asked: Does GEJ have military training? You responded: He has done paramilitaries.

The point is: Obasanjo is military. He will be military till he dies. GEJ is not.

The second point is that your country clearly is stuck in an era. No one there seems to know what civilian rule is. You confuse the role of commander-in-chief for that of a general.

Interest in Naai-geria or not, those are facts. GEJ highjacked your colours.

See Obasanjo's pics below.

May we have similar pics of GEJ, in the military as a young man.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 4:48pm On Jul 09, 2013
souldust: . How else can you explain that a country that was predicted to disintegrate even before independence has survived for over 50years of political independence and 99years as a single entity?
How else? Bokkko Haram!

What other explanation could you possibly want? They want a Muslim state up north. Single entity or not, Bokkko Haram are yet to be crushed.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 4:36pm On Jul 09, 2013
chris365: go and learn how to read, read what i asked for again and then come back and answer my question. Am not ready to school you.

How did you pass through school? SHM
If you don't know what you want from me, don't make that my Indaba. You want a source, explain to me what source you want and why. Don't throw a wishy-washy request and hope to hit something.

GidiNaijaPikin: Shut your dirty fangs! President Obasanjo as an elected President! Don't show more of your ignorance you chronic ignoramus!!
Obasanjo was a soldier and according to the below, he was also a military leader.

Our point exactly.

Olusegun Obasanjo, (born March 5, 1937, Abeokuta, Nigeria), Nigerian general, politician, and diplomat, who was the first military leader in Africa to hand over power to civilian rule. He served as ruler of Nigeria (1976–79) and as president (1999–2007).

He was a soldier. GEJ? Not really.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by CraigB: 4:24pm On Jul 09, 2013
GidiNaijaPikin: Souldust ... President Olusegun Obasanjo before him put on the uniform as civilian President. Will need to check for Yaradua.

Mike..ZA:
This militant groups man. If Nigeria was in a military show down against any country, that country can sponsor this militants with money and weapons easily to eat Nigeria from the inside. That would be opening a second front, stretching your armed forces. GET IT?
In fact, there are suspicions that even their own military people aid BH.

http://www.ekekeee.com/snitches-military-tries-18-of-its-members-for-aiding-boko-haram/

Eighteen members of the military faced a special military court martial in Jos, Plateau State yesterday for aiding and abetting the deadly sect, Boko Haram and other insurgent groups in the North of Nigeria.
