Hello everyone. Please has anyone been invited to take a test for the Finance section of the scheme? I know this thread is dedicated to TPM and I'm not trying to divert. I'd just like to know if anyone here knows anyone who has been called to take a test for SDS - Finance. |
happydasy: Indeed a risky deal 2 sign, since d salary is nt stated. U guys dnt knw if d salary is based on commission, if it wil b slash/increase in months time.Exactly! |

Tundemmy: info from a staff says salary is arnd 100k then it comes with some adjustments and allowances after confirmation. You can also get an idea if you analyse their financial statement...Analysing the financial statement is not accurate. Yes, you will get the average salary per employee. But you forget that "average" does not provide the specific salaries of entry-level employees, middle-level employees, senior employees and the management. The average of anything provides a general result, not a specific one. |
Dragnet failed by sending the mail this late. Deadline to accept this invitation is tomorrow. |

omidan21: People am so confused, i am presently working and i need to tender my resignation letter anytime soon before 8th Sept. But i am not sure what to do cause from what craven posted, we might not receive this offer letter before 8th Sept.I cant just resign without having full knowledge regards salary info and allowances and all.Aso Savings and Loans are popular in Abuja. If you have any friends or family there you can contact them and ask if they have any information regarding the bank's salary structure for entry-level employees. I have done so myself and I've been given a range. But I can't rely on hearsay alone and wouldn't want to raise anyone's hopes up. |
I just contacted Dragnet via phone a while ago and it turns out our speculations are wrong. According to them, the Pre-employment Training begins next week, 8th of September, and the venue will be sent very soon, before the training commences, of course. I was also told the Invitation Letter will be sent anytime before the 28th as the text message stated. The dates were correct after all, and not typos, as we speculated. |
esdeeae: Pls what are "the locations mentioned above"? TnxxThe bank has branches in about 9 states. Successful hires will probably be posted to work in these locations. |
ask4slimjay: About The JobWasn't this posted along with the job ad? |
Tundemmy: from the info I have from a staff, training school exists and is in Abuja where HQ is (except they've just changed it)We were informed by Ms. Salma, before the interview with the MD commenced, that training will take place in Lagos. She also gave a brief overview of the process; The pre-employment training lasts for 6 weeks, a two-week break follows. And we resume work by November. |
infamousone: It is understandable that there is an ongoing restructuring process as a result of the union homes acquisition. So i believe certain things about Aso as we know it might change (even though there isn't much we know currently).Thank you for this information. |
mtor: Does anyone have tips and info concerning the training school. Also there are a lots of fill in the blanks regarding Aso nothing really on the net. Info about them will be greatly appreciatedTraining school? I doubt that. I think Aso is too small an organization to run a school. It seems to me like just an ordinary pre-employment training that would cover only the basics of banking operations. I don't think we're going to learn much. I mean six weeks is to little to learn anything huge. Other banks' training program lasts about three months. Aso's training lasting only six weeks doesn't sound all that, don't you think? This is just a hunch though, and I'd like to be wrong. |
I think they meant to type "to receive your invitation letter on or before 28/08/2014," that is 28th August not 28th September, because it doesn't make any sense receiving the invitation letter after the pre-employment training has started. It's definitely a typographical error on Dragnet's part. Aso's pre-employment training begins on the 8th day of September, and now that we've accepted to be invited for the training, we should be expecting letters from them today. I can only hope Dragnet sticks to time. |
ask4slimjay: I have a strong feeling that its worth the wait...so, just chill and grab a cold beerCold beer? So we can all build pot bellies before training school starts? LOL. Besides, has anyone acquired information about Aso Savings and Loans? What the training is meant to entail, the working environment and conditions, the culture of the other employees, the possible pay, employee benefits? I've surfed and surfed the internet for information, but there aren't really any concrete information about the bank. Either this is a very hushed organization or the employees aren't all that interested in letting out some information about the bank. But either way, it looks curious, doesn't it? |
magastefan: Hey,pls how did u guys interveiw with the manager go yest, what kinda questns did the md ask u peopleIt was a smooth interview. I never expected it to be so buttery. The MD was nice. The questions he asked were basic interview questions. Anyone can answer them if they are blessed with the skill of tailoring answers to please the interviewer. The trick is to be able to back up the contents of your résumé, and be calm. Give straight answers also and think on your feet. |
faith2ogesco: got an interview invite for 31stAn interview? What position did you apply for? Skills Development Scheme? |

ojoawo: did the 2nd level assessment too... seems legit. the owner is Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, a 23 year old entrepreneur.Would you do everyone a favor by sharing the source of this information? |
Ghost01: As unexpected, got (t)here 9am.Any idea the identity of the company? |
It is so very unfortunate that traffic chose today to be excruciatingly slow. |
mode9007: Hi, I don't think you are to upload any CV, the CV is the completion of the applications, like ur school details and ur work experience if any. What you should just do is upload just the passport. The "candidate profile" on the portal is quite different from a "candidate's résumé". They wouldn't have invited anyone for the test if their candidate profile is incomplete now, would they? What they are asking for, is a soft copy of your résumé to be used during the assessment. |
peju: cafe oo. The file size is too large and even when compressed, its still large. I'm tired. Maybe I should try a phone.Quick question. When you applied for the job, did you upload your résumé? If yes, then your résumé should be among uploaded documents. But if you're just about to, you should make sure the size of the file falls under the limit stated on the portal (200KB). If your file is large, then I suggest you edit it from scratch using Microsoft Word. Make sure the pages are few (three pages at most is the standard for entry-level applicants), and that there are no excessive/unnecessary designs as they may contribute to a higher file size. After making those adjustments, save to PDF and try to upload. |
There are no Dragnet "past questions". If you've ever taken a Dragnet test before, you'd know they emphasize in their mail that they to not share questions of previous tests. If you dedicate the time you spend sharing email addresses to searching for Numerical, Verbal and Abstract Reasoning questions online, you'd find something useful you can practice with. All the other "supposed" Dragnet past questions do not include the exact questions Dragnet will set. They are similar, but not the same questions. |
hemor: Samsung is obviously better than Tecno but can u pls tell me a reasonable difference between Samsung s3, s4 and s5. d point is every phone manufacturer are guilty of that, they only improve d camera and probably change the shape and den sell it to us at higher price. If you have truly made your research on each of these devices, you'd find that they are indeed different from each other. And no, I don't think Samsung phones are ridiculously overpriced. If you desire a massive phone with outstanding features, then you have to be ready to pay more. If you cannot afford them, Samsung has low-end smartphones and mid-range smartphones for people who are cannot spend much. The expensive devices are that way because they include all the features that low-end and mid-range smartphones can't provide. Simple. Make your research and you'd know more. |
GogetterMD: BTW, the Tecno brand is one of the least popular brands in the Chinese market. You can't even get to buy Tecno on popular online shops like alibaba xpress? It has extremely low to no popularity in the Chinese market. Wanna prove this? Google any Tecno phone model. If it's any other phone, one of the first few results to appear would be a review from popular website, gsmarena.com. Even Gionee, Xaomii, Oppo brands are on gsmarena. Tecno? Virtually nonexistent. The phone is made to be sold in the African market where they had little competition for low end phones, at least initially.Exactly what I said. For Tecno to charge cheaper prices, they have to include cheap features. People who are not tech savvy might not even notice and not see it has a problem. But tech heads know what makes a phone a quality one. |
Despite all these facts, I still won't purchase a Tecno phone. The reason being that I have handled a Tecno android before and it wasn't anything compared to a Samsung android. It wasn't a thrilling experience. Tecno phones might provide the same version of android and nice features at cheaper prices compared to Samsung, but at the end of the day, there are some minor differences that might be uncomfortable if you're a gadget freak. For example, the UI of the Tecno Phantom A seemed bland compared to Samsung's android devices. The case also applies to cheap Sony Xperia phones. The fact is this, for a phone such as Tecno to charge cheaper prices, some features has to be abandoned. This gives room for the poor UI in most of their devices, plastic casings, mediocre batteries, less attention to details, no screen protection. Other phones however, provide these features fully and therefore charge higher prices. Features like Corning Gorilla Glass to protect your screen from cracking when it falls, metal casings, very clear display, water-resistance, massive batteries. You cannot expect them to give you all these things and still charge less, do you? I should let you know that people actually complained about the iPhone 5c that came in plastic. The tagged the "c" as "cheap". To a person who is not a gadget freak and who only desires basic features, then the Tecno phone might be for them. But to someone who is a techie head, the Tecno device might not mean much to him. At the end of the day, purchasing phones is a matter of what you want and what you can afford. Money might be a deciding factor to some people, to others, it's nothing. Not all fingers are equal. It is not a crime to want good features for your phone. If you can afford them, good for you. It shouldn't be anyone's problem. If you can't spend money on an expensive phone, it's also not any one's business. Free world. I don't discriminate against Tecno users. But I find it hypocritical when the same Tecno users who hate being discriminated turn back around and tag expensive phone users as "silly" for spending too much money. One more thing, Nokia, Samsung, iPhone and BlackBerry are taken seriously and rated highly above other brands for one simple reason; they've been in the telecommunications industry for years! If Tecno wants the same respect, then they have to earn it the same way their massive counterparts earned theirs. You can't expect to be widely accepted within a short period of time when you're only just emerging in the industry. That would be silly. |
I didn't read the title of this thread all through before I followed. I saw "Literature/Writing Section" and didn't bother to go through with the rest before I joined. I wish I had. (N) |
I understand the advancement in technology and their perks, but there are still some things I'd rather do the traditional way, and reading paperbacks/hardcovers happens to be one of them. |
I never knew there was a thread such as this. Nice. Looking forward to sharing posts from my blog on here. ![]() |
