LiteratureRe: To Kill A Mockingbird by crazylegs(m): 9:56am On Mar 31, 2008
Never thought of it that way. You may have a point

Somehow, I still think its Tom Robinson. He was someone that no one had anything bad to say about. He helped the girl he was supposed to have raped because she seemed unhappy. He was innocent but they killed him, because he was black. But it could apply to both of them to different degrees.

7 points off, 3rd on the table and only 8 games to go. I'm beginning to get scared. Na wa o. Anyways, its not over till its over.

But, Ronaldinho should go. It will be better for both Barca and for him. Barcelona has a way of losing their star Brazilians: Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Well Ronaldinho's time has come. Hustler, he's all yours. I don't mind if he goes to Milan. If he goes to Madrid, I'll kill him myself.

Hard to say it but maybe a trophyless season may be a blessing in disguise. But I repeat: If Messi is around, we'll show Man U. the way football is meant to be played.

@MC OMO
You'll give yourself a tummy upset. grin Go and support your own team.
CultureRe: Is Abuse Part Of Our Culture by crazylegs(m): 11:55am On Mar 28, 2008
I really think Nigerians are abusive. But mainly in a fun way. You abuse someone with all your might in traffic, but the next second you are joking with you companion in the car. Its not too personal. Its just a way of expression. I try not to do it but I have a lot of fun listening to the insults that fly around. I think it also helps not to get over sensitive. We don't want to get too neurotic do we?

If you go with a detached mind you could die of laughter in traffic. The things you hear. shocked

racial slur? Please explain.

Its absolutely one of my favourite books. Instead of being disgusted I was quite edified. Of course, you have to understand it in its context. It might seem condescending but it was written in the 60s. Stereotypes are just that. Stereotypes. Oversimplifications. Many blacks in the US might have been perceived the way she presented it in the book. In any case for her time she was reasonably nice. She was also clear about on racial injustice.

But maybe I don't get you.

I think the mockingbird is Tom Robinson who was innocent and just trying to help and was killed for that.

Feedback please.

How far. Just want to get a few things straight
1. By 0.005 do you mean 0.5% on transfer amount.
2. Is there a minimum opening balance amount?
3. Do you guys have branches everywhere? Not everyone lives in Lagos oh!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Barcelona Fans Thread by crazylegs(m): 9:28am On Mar 28, 2008
@doyin
Nice topic. I think the defence is really good, the best in some time. They've conceded the fewest goals in la liga so far. They don't look as good attacking simply because our attack and midfield are not what they used to be. Toure is a good player. But he's like Essien, strong on the tackle but boring. He should go to Chelsea. Marquez or Edmilson were not as strong but linked the defence with the attack much better.

The REAL problem of Barca this year is Ronaldinho. Something de worry the guy. He's just a shadow of himself. There are rumours he'll be allowed to go at the end of the season. When he was fit, any defending on the right looked good coming up simply because Ronaldinho was there. I love Ronaldinho but if he's not happy let the bobo go. I'll enjoy watching him anywhere else(except Madrid) if he plays like before.

@nayalee
Iniesta and Xavi are by far the most consistent Barca players this season. They are the one giving the team consistency with an erratic Dinho and an injured Messi. Its as though they never get injured *knocking desk hard*
ComputersRe: My Vista Os Doesnt Work With My Printer by crazylegs(m): 11:57am On Mar 25, 2008
Next time the best thing is to go to HP Support website and find out about your printer.

Anyways I checked it up. It should install automatically in Vista. The XP driver it comes with will not work in Vista.

1. Disconnect the printer
2. If you installed the XP driver, uninstall it.
3. Delete the printer from your printers list (Start>control panel>printers and faxes).
4. Restart
5. Connect your printer and power it up.
6. Wait for it to install. It should give you a message saying your hardware has been installed or something like that

Some people don't like formatting their systems and reinstalling their operating systems. I think its OK because it cleans up your system and for the next few days is as good as new. You really notice the difference. If you decide to I think nazzyon's advice is very good.

If you don't want to format your system you can repair your windows installation. The advantage of this is that you don't have to reinstall all your programs and so on

**BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES FIRST**

To repair a windows installation (i.e. replace system files that have been deleted)
boot from your windows CD

1. Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive.
2. When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, press Enter to start the Windows Setup. (Choose "To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER."wink
3. Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
4. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options, END setup.
5. Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.
6. There is no substitute for an up to date antivirus. I like Avast but update to 4.7 and make sure the virus database is up to date.

Good luck and keep us posted
SportsRe: F1 Racing: Hamilton Wellwishers Only by crazylegs(m): 10:52am On Mar 25, 2008
I think Ferrari has the fastest car. Besides Raikonen is a great driver. Anyway you can't win always, what Hamilton has to do is hang in there and get a podium in every race or some points at least. Thats one of his strong points. He's very consistent.

He's a guy I like a lot but I'd sort of appreciate it if he kept his mouth drove more and talked less. He's a bit of a big mouth.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Barcelona Fans Thread by crazylegs(m): 10:37am On Mar 25, 2008
Barca is now just 4 points off from Madrid. We beat Valladolid while Madrid lost 2-3 at home to Valencia. Well I've forgiven Valencia for beating us in the Kings Cup grin.

The Cup loss may really not be all that bad as we can still make a double. But, now is when we need the real Ronaldinho more than ever. He really needs to get motivated again. Form comes and goes but real class is eternal, and of course MESSI!!! The boy should go to his village and get insurance against injury. grin I can recommend someone in my own villa if he doesn't have.

We just have to beat Madrid in the Bernabeu.
SportsRe: The Epl Teams Are The Best! by crazylegs(m): 10:15am On Mar 18, 2008
I agree with Rube. Forget it. Premiership teams ARE getting better, but look at the hard facts. They've won the Champions League 3ce in the last 25 years. Compared to Spanish and Italian teams, thats not much.

Last year Milan tidied the best English teams. Three English teams to one in the semis and the suckers couldn't take the cup. I really can see the same thing happening this year.

The best teams in the world are Spanish and Italian. I think leagues are best judged, not by the top teams but by the middle teams: those that go to UEFA. Fiorentina or Villareal will murder Everton any given day.

Besides they're more competitive. The top four in the EPL hardly ever changes unlike in Spain or Italy.
SportsRe: Next Fifa Player Of The Year, Messi by crazylegs(m): 10:03am On Mar 18, 2008
Men, thats my prayer oh. I bet my last kobo: if Barca make it to semis and Messi, Etoo and DINHO are fit, ManU is , oh sooo dead.

But I just feel its C.Ronaldo's year. He has the Premiership, Champions League AND Eurocup to shine in. In the FIFA award visibility is everything. Like I said before, I don't know why I don't like him (maybe because he plays for ManU grin), but he's a great player.

*Repeated post* sorry oh.

Great post. You've hit on something that should be obvious, but somehow most people are not aware of: There is big money in trading (importing and exporting, clearing, forwarding and backwarding, etc. )

Whether its in used cars or new clothes from China (Bulk importation of shirts from China is BIG Business. Those "cheap" N700-N1k shirts in the market actually have a total cost of like N200. The reason they are so expensive here is that its a relatively well-kept secret amongst traders. You import something for Npeanuts and sell it for a lot more because no-one knows better.

Personally, if I want something: from a laptop to a "tokunbo" car I've realised the best thing is to get it myself. You just need a close relative (or very tight pal) overseas and a "friend" in customs. You save a lot and if more people do it the price of imported goods should be forced down to the correct market price.

Its a bit stressful though (worrying, calling, tipping and harassing). The overhead is a bit more than what the original poster listed. Everyone has a bit of stress so I guess thats why the traders charge so much on top and why some people just buy the damn thing here without all the wahala. I wouldn't do it for a living because I'd feel a bit guilty about the mark-up. But if I did, I think I'd make a lot of money.

Could it be spyware? Try getting spybot S&grin. Do a spyware check.

Sometimes after removing spyware you may have problems with your network drivers (winsock LSPs).

You could try LSPfix. Not sure if it works with Vista, but at least it does with XP.

Download it here. http://www.download.com/LSPFix/3000-2085_4-10417026.html?tag=lst-1

P.S.
There should be no problem but do a back up just in case. Users' discretion advised,, blah blah.

Keep us posted

go to network and sharing center, make sure the network diagram indicates the internet connection is active (its a green earth globe)
.

Good advice. At times you may be connected to a network and not still have access to the internet.

You could checking things like ip numbers, default gateway and so on if your network uses static ip numbers. This is accessed through network and sharing centre.

If the glove is green and its not browsing. Check internet options and confirm the internet settings there (just copy the settings from any system on the network that is browsing). The internet connections put in IE7 can determine the internet connection of other browsers.

can arguments be based on facts please. Their are sites online that ran tests
"Pentium" doesn't really mean much nowadays. When you compare Intel's Core2Duo with AMD's Turion64X2, the Core2Duo beats it hands down according to benchmarks shown online.
http://farenf./2007/12/28/benchmark-mobile-processor/

But benchmarks are not everything. From my *cough cough* not insignificant experience using both, for simple tasks (typing, watching videos) the difference is hardly noticeable. When you start heavy stuff (video editing etc.) the core2duo is much more stable.

I still prefer AMD. They are much cheaper and more than enough for most things
SportsRe: Barcelona's Defense Error (barca Only) by crazylegs(m): 10:27am On Mar 11, 2008
I don't quite agree. The figures say otherwise. Barca have conceded the fewest goals in la liga. They've also lost the fewest (with Madrid). Our problem now is the head. We draw or lose some matches that we should win well well. In those ones, we don't score enough. (maybe not counting Atletico)

Milito is great. Puyol is a mad man, but the guy get energy. Abidal is also very good. Zambrotta, Sylvinho, Oleguer and co are solid. Thuram don de old oh, but experience is there. The defense is OK.

We just look mediocre in attack when Messi is not around. Ronaldinho is improving but he's just not himself this season.
SportsRe: Next Fifa Player Of The Year, Messi by crazylegs(m): 10:15am On Mar 11, 2008
Messi is my mainest man. (Vizca Barca!) Fast, skillful, veeery smart. Sometimes its like the ball is tied to his feet. Even at high velocity.

But they guy cannot win it simply because he cannot stay fit. There've been many "next Maradona"s (does anyone remember the sweeeeeeet AIMAR). Na injury de kill dem. Messi's down for six weeks again. At the most important part of Barca's campaign.

Person no de win FIFA player of the year for hospital. Painful but true.

C. Ronaldo, (great player, but don't know why I can't stand him), will win it. He's having a great season and SCORING GOALS. May God punish those red devils. Wretched cows are going to take the prem.

ComputersRe: Amd Turion Or Pentium: Which Is Better? by crazylegs(m): 9:25am On Mar 11, 2008
I'm an AMD fan. People usually prefer Intel (Pentium) because its the more popular and identifiable brand name, but AMD's turions are very comparable. The Intels of the same ratings (i.e. processor speed and no of cores) are probably slightly better, but they are usually more expensive. People are paying a premium for the brand name.

And you are right. Most people just need something to browse and type word documents. Anything will do. Just take care of your machine. You could try explaining this to him.
ComputersRe: Help Me With Freee Antivirus Softwares by crazylegs(m): 9:13am On Mar 11, 2008
In my opinion the best antiviruses are the free ones. They use much less system resources than the commercial ones. They may not be as smooth-looking but they get the job done. Forget norton and co.

Antivirus: avast home free. (fast and quite effective) http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Antispyware: spybot search and destroy. (Run it once a week) http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Firewall: optional (as they can be pains in the a*** if you don't know how to put the settings) http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

The best rules online are only to go to "good" sites. Many warez sites are spyware laden. Go only if you really know what you are doing.

regarding dwrweb: google it.
