no!!
Why? Thought it was like that in Spain. They don't even use compound names. They marry and their names stay the same.

Seems like he'll travel to London at least. The medical team hasn't written him off entirely.

That's why I've been wishing Hleb was getting more playing time. Henry is fantastic but you always need to cover positions.

If we beat Chelsea the CL is ours. I don't see Man U. or Arsenal stopping us.

@Eyonigger
We BADLY need to spank Athletic. All the small teams that used to tremble before now have the liver to dream of beating us. Its going to get harder. This league is going to the wire.

Atletico Madrid haven't beaten Real Madrid in ages. They are not going to do so now. Useless spoilers.
CultureRe: Not Being To Lagos, a 'bush person'? by crazylegs(m): 10:35am On Jan 28, 2009
Someone called lagos (VI to be specific), the most expensive slum in the world.

I like Lagos and enjoy going from time to time, but it gets tedious after a few days.

Too much noise and rushing about. Had to leave the house by 5am. Mad people everywhere.
SportsRe: Are Classic Goalpoachers Going Extinct? by crazylegs(m): 1:33pm On Jan 23, 2009
~Sauron~:
I think they are now extinct!!!!!
Luca Toni, RVN, Klose and the rest don't offer much threat outside the box.
Where are the Luiz Ronaldo, Batistuta, Ivan Zamorano, George Weah, Gerd Muller, Gerd Muller, Hossam Hassan, Gary Linekar??
The strikers we have today are k'inda like a hybrid of the old partnership(TWO IN ONE).
Whereas in em days, u have a classic goalpoacher(Ronaldo) and a creator(Bebeto).
I thought that was what a goal poacher was. Someone who was virtually only useful inside the box. The type of guy who would score with his hip if necessary.  undecided

Ronaldo (whats with the Luiz?) can never, never be called a poacher. He scored a couple of screamers in his time and was almost as dangerous outside the box as inside. Yes I know what wikipedia says. I think they are wrong.

Pipo Inzaghi is the goal poacher par excellence. His only talent is knowing how to position himself and score rebounds. Van Nistelroy is also very effective.

I think nowadays the game is so physical and technical that you can't afford to have someone whose only reason for existing is to beat the off-side trap. Good strikers are now people like Torres who can also put a lot of pressure on defenders.

Amen to that. grin

Nothing up between Etoo and Guardiola. Etoo was sparking a bit during training and Guardiola after warning him sent him to the dressing room to cool off. This is normal stuff that happens every now and then. Haters are just making a big deal of it to stir up trouble.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Barcelona Fans Thread by crazylegs(m): 4:03pm On Jan 22, 2009
Bros don't worry. These local derbies are never easy. We'll hit them with everything next week.

This weekend sha we have Numancia at home. They are 17th. We may save some more players this weekend and then face Espanyol well next week. I'm OK with the draw. The subs need as much playing time as possible. Especially Iniesta. He hasn't fully recovered from his injury. Hleb is looking better and better.

THe game against Espanyol in the kings Cup is not a knock out game. It's a 2 leg game. Barca will be playing the second leg at home. Espanyol are having a hard time this season, they just sacked there coach some min. ago. They got trash by Malaga i think by 4 or 5 goal on sunday.

Barca For Treble.

BarSa! for Life! cool
Yes you're right. I meant knock out stages. I'm reasonably sure we'll play with the 2nd team: Busquets, Gudjonsen, Bojan, Keita. . . Iniesta may also play to get more minutes. If they don't lock down the game we can bring out the big guns for the 2nd leg.

Still use Sure. Just changed to the spray recently.

Does Messi have a 12 year old kid? He's only 21 na. He's a good boy so I don't think he began that stuff so early. grin
Aguero his good friend just had a kid with Maradona's daughter though.

The game with Espanyol is a King's cup game. Its a knockout game. I suspect we'll play with our second team. The one that beat Atletico 2-1. Meen! No matter who plays, Barca is Barca. I'm loving this team.

I know its early to ask since they've not won anything, but is this team better than the "Dream Team" that had Ronaldinho?

I know I'm a hater, but Madrid were eliminated from the King's cup by a 2B team. This is almost as good as Barca's demolition of Valladolid. Don't know which makes me happier.

SportsRe: F1 Racing: Hamilton Wellwishers Only by crazylegs(m): 9:54am On Nov 03, 2008
Hamilton deserves the title, but I find it VERY hard to believe that Glock wasn't being a little generous with him. Come on! You don't let TWO people overtake you on the last bend. It looked more like he was making space for Vettel and Hamilton to pass than driving wide. I have to send him some flowers sha grin

Vettel is a hard man oh! To me you really need guts to strip someone of a title with less than 2 laps to go. I like that kind of ruthlessness. grin He's still young and will definitely go places.

Next season will be hyper-competitive: Alonso in a better car, Kimi learning from his mistakes, Hamilton, Kubica, Massa, Vettel . . .

Well we still managed to whup them 4-1. League leaders for the first time in over a year. Madrid drew and Valencia lost so Barca's ahead by 1 point.

I'm starting to get excited again.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Barcelona Fans Thread by crazylegs(m): 9:58am On Oct 31, 2008
Barca's next match is away at Malaga. Shouldn't be a problem. I have to admit the team is looking good at the moment. Constant changes and the results have been pouring in.

Some good news: Madrid lost 3-2 in the Kings Cup to Real Union (a 3rd division team). They'll kill them in the 2nd leg but any humiliation for Madrid is welcome news for me.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm happier when Barca win or when Madrid lose. undecided

Espionage?
I'm not really a fan. Too caught in classics- I love beautiful prose. But I remember I LOVED Robert Ludlum,Jack Higgins,Jeffrey Archer and John Le Carre, who is perhaps the best. Not sure Higgins qualifies as espionage, though.
If you like espionage and the classics you might want to try something in between: The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad.
Great book!

Prince of Tides is a very good book, as is Catch 22. Currently reading Wilt by Tom Sharpe. Very funny book by a very funny chap.

Sorry about the jibe about your maps. The problem is they are so big and take up so much time and space. Besides Federal resource allocation and the national census don't have much to do with the "best political analyst"

I took the time to look at the maps and they made sense. Keep on posting . . . but please reduce the size of the maps a bit.
BusinessRe: Are Nigerian Banks As Shiny As They Look? by crazylegs(m): 9:37am On Sep 18, 2008
Answering the question: Are Nigerian Banks as shiny as they look? The answer is NO!

Nigerian banks depend a lot on image: flashy offices, cars and suits. They try to give an aura of more solidity than they actually have. But what do they rely on for their income? They rely on short term loans, government bonds and similar things. They are still too dependent on Government money and soft loans. They are not transparent. Every year just before releasing their final accounts they go about begging people to deposit money in their bank if only for a month. Their statements are generally overstated.

All that said, they are working with more professionalism and I think money deposited with most of them is reasonably safe . But they are not as solid as they seem to be. They are wasting (imho) too many resources on their image.

This thread MUST NOT DIE. even though these guys are breaking my heart

Wretched start to the season, 16th on the table and 1 point from Numancia and Santander. We looked OK against Santander, but how did they manage to throw away their lead. They need more character if they plan to win anything this season o.

Alves is looking good though.

Hello omofola the cakes u've tasted were FRUIT cakes tongue, brown with mixed fruits. Most of our clients walk in and pick up cakes off the shelf and i'm sure you realise that fruit cakes are designed to get better with time and can even last for years if u keep them well (that explains why most wedding cakes are fruit cakes).

I would like to personally recommend my new chocolate gateau cake, its incredibly delicious and affordable (if i may say so myself). It comes in double layer (choc+choc or choc+any other flavour) with cream filling. shocked

You can also order for vanilla, strawberry, marble, carrot and cheesecakes cool
Please stop the torture! I'm trying to work here. My keyboard is swimming in an ocean of drool. STOOOOP!

My way of saying great [looking] cakes. Chocolate and fruit drive me crazy. A generous helping of brandy should help things.
