He's not from Enugu. He's from Agbor in Delta. While he loves and respects all tribes, he'll take exception to being considered Igbo.
Stop being petty and commend the good work of any Nigerian.

Kudos Dr. Ohu

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Barcelona's Thiago On Course To Sign For Manchester United On £17m Deal by crazylegs(op): 4:03pm On Jun 21, 2013
Seems like Thiago is heading to Old Trafford to get playing minutes he won't be likely to get in Barca.

Manchester United are on the verge of signing Barcelona midfield star Thiago Alcantara in a £17million deal.
The Premier League champions have stolen a march on rivals Manchester City by agreeing personal terms of £5m-a-year with Thiago, 22, and his father Mazinho.
They still have to finalise a deal with Barcelona and sources say that it is unlikely there will be any announcement on Friday, but discussions between the two clubs will continue over the weekend.
He's a great player. I think he'll do well in Man U.

From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Benedict_XVI#Sexual_abuse_in_the_Catholic_Church
After sexual abuse cases became the responsibility of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 2001, Cardinal Ratzinger, as head of that congregation, made strong efforts to investigate such cases.[110] According to Jason Berry, Ratzinger had "persuaded John Paul to consolidate authority of abuse investigations in his office".[111] According to John L. Allen, Jr., Ratzinger in the following years "acquired a familiarity with the contours of the problem that virtually no other figure in the Catholic church can claim" and "driven by that encounter with what he would later refer to as 'filth' in the church, Ratzinger seems to have undergone something of a 'conversion experience' throughout 2003-04. From that point forward, he and his staff seemed driven by a convert's zeal to clean up the mess".[112] According to Charles J. Scicluna, a former prosecutor handling sexual abuse cases, "Cardinal Ratzinger displayed great wisdom and firmness in handling those cases, also demonstrating great courage in facing some of the most difficult and thorny cases, sine acceptione personarum (without exceptions)".[112][113]
There were sexual abuses, there were cover-ups. I think any good catholic is, like the Pope, deeply ashamed and sorry for the victims. What is clear to me however but the outcry against the Pope is ridiculous. He was never personally involved in ANY cover-up. Some sections of the press seem bent on painting him as the sole guilty party. They manage this with baseless insinuations. Mere suggestion.

The proof points at the Pope actively trying to bring those cases to the light and face the crisis squarely. Nothing concrete says otherwise. Only insinuations . . .

Alves vaunts visionary Xavi

Wednesday 25 November 2009

The passing skills and vision of Xavi Hernández left FC Internazionale Milano at sixes and sevens on Matchday 5 and the Italian champions could be grateful, eventually, that the scoreline was only 2-0 rather than six or seven.

Future shock

But Daniel Alves thinks he has a special revelation as to why and how his Catalan midfield team-mate can weave such magic and decide on brilliant, geometric passing options which are next to impossible to defend against. "We all live in the present and Xavi actually inhabits the future – that's how he sees things the way he does," the Brazilian wing-back told uefa.com. "I've always believed that football is for the little smart guys like me and Pedro [Rodríguez], and Xavi and [Andrés] Iniesta and we really showed again tonight that the little guys can play great."

Irresistable Barça

Xavi and Iniesta formed a limited company on the pitch against Inter, a special service for providing a constant stream of gilt-edged opportunities for the Barça strikers. "We made lots of chances and Inter didn't really make one clear opportunity to score," Xavi pointed out. "We dominated practically the whole match and deserved to win by more goals. Particularly in the first half, we saw the Barça we've all been wanting to see. We played with fluidity, moved the ball between ourselves really quickly and played with authority. The forward three did a really good job, but particularly Titi [Thierry Henry] whose hard work created lots of space and dragged their defenders all over the place."

Confidence rediscovered

The sole purpose of the display was to win three valuable points, the first time the European champions have won in this competition since early September. The added bonus is that Barça's fate is now in their own hands. So long as they do not lose by more than one goal in Kyiv next month, Josep Guardiola's team will progress to the knockout rounds. But the victory over Inter also gives a timely lift to a side which was without both Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimović, prior to hosting Real Madrid CF this Sunday. Xavi agreed: "We knew we were missing important players up front like Leo and Zlatan, but this team plays from memory. We all know our work, our positions and when we play like that we are all interchangeable. This has been a big confidence boost."

UEFA.COM
There is no one like Xavi really. I was thinking by now the guy would be fading a bit. But the way he plays he can be at the very very top for at least three more years.

How are we warming up for "El Clasico"?

Barca 3 Madrid 1 is what I see in my crystal ball.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Barcelona Fans Thread by crazylegs(m): 10:27am On Oct 06, 2009
We need a tough team now to sort of wake up. 3 points are 3 points but the guys weren't too fantastic against Almeria. The boys will do well whether Villa is there or not. Where are the playing by the way?

PS
I'm really loving Pedro. That goal was beautiful.

Looking at it on the surface it seems like Inter got everything but keep in mind:

Etoo is currently worth very little to Barcelona. In just a year he would have left for free. His value to Barcelona is actually like €5m. Instead of waiting for his value to depreciate to zero, cash in on him now and get something you'd like.

Hleb is only on loan for a year. He played very few minutes for Barcelona and has been quite frankly a flop. Instead of paying his entire salary, you can ship him to Inter, hope he builds up on confidence and gets more playing time (something its a bit hard for him to do at Barca at the moment) and then decide what to do with him next season. If he does well and Inter wants him you can recover a good part of the money.

Most importantly, the coach doesn't want Etoo any longer. He has "bad vibes" about him and wants to make some changes. He admitted its not something he can put in words but he wants the guy OUT. I find it funny, but if a coach has won a treble in his first season he's allowed to make any call he wants.

I don't think Ibracadabra is better than Etoo, but the guy plays more spectacular soccer and there are plenty other players in Barca scoring freely at the moment. Beautiful soccer is almost more important to hard-core Barca fans than winning.

It wasn't such a bad deal.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: The 2009 Summer Football Transfer Thread(Bayern £22m Robben, Inter £13m Sneijdr) by crazylegs(m): 7:26pm On Jul 01, 2009
Benzema is worth a lot. In the present inflated market (caused by the madrid *@###!s), 35m is about it. He's much more than potential. The guy has close control, pace, a good shot and is VERY strong. With Kaka playing in the hole and Ronaldo on the flank. . . I'm tripping

I'm not a Madrid fan (actually I hate their guts), but I don't see this team flopping. They'll do well. It will take time to gel but apart from the ridiculous amounts they are very good signings. Kaka and Benzema work hard. Although Ronaldo is a prima donna, the guy is serious about his soccer. They've also signed a bit more sensibly in defence. The idiots are now talking about Ribery and the guy really wants to go.

La liga is definitely going to be the league to watch next season. Thank God those DSTV goats have finally wised up.

Madrid is looking fearsome. Ronaldo, Kaka and now Benzema. All paid in hard cash. Pigs angry

Etoo should go to Man City. After the whole wahala he can't stay in Barca now. He should follow the money jo. He has three la ligas and two champions league titles. He's not getting younger. Barca could also do with the cash.

We need a LB. NOW!!!!

Florentino is crazy. But I have to admit the guy has guts. Even if they don't win anything (which they won't wink ) its a marketing strategy that's not likely to fail.

Txiki Beguiristan is more of a team builder. But i think he is feeling under pressure to make some big-name signings.

La liga is going the league to watch next season. Thank God for DSTV

Curious as hell to see how Fergie spends that money.

Regarding Etoo. Rumours are that they are trying to exchange him + some money for Ibrahimovic. I hear Laporta is also looking at Maxwell, their Brazilian left-back.

That is a big, insult for Etoo. Ibrahimovic is good but its debatable whether he's better than Etoo. I don't think he's worth that much. Anyway, he's plays more flamboyant soccer than Etoo. Maybe they are also thinking of the Nation's cup.

All the same, Villa+Ibrahmovic+Clichy and I think we are ready for the new season. Marquez and Milito will be back by then.

Will we need more muscle in the new season when Keita and Toure check out and then come back tired or is Marquez enough cover?

Ashley Cole isn't too bad. The problem is he's overpriced. I won't pay more than 5m pounds for him. He's actually better than any LB we have currently.

I also miss Milito. If he and Marquez were fit Abidal could go back to his LB and stop causing trouble in the centre.

Alves is a BEAST. We'll miss him.

Xavi's the better flair player. Lamps rules the box-to-box game. If they were both to swap teams, both would turn out miserably, i think. All round game winning ability, I'm biased towards Lampard. He's so very consistent and injury free
Reasonably balanced opinion. Xavi has much better vision, controls the game better, is much more intelligent, extremely cool under pressure, rarely looses the ball . . . I could go on all day. However Lampard probably has a better chance of a winning a game on his own since he has more drive and scores more.

Xavi however, doesn't need to do that. He produces the passes. Let Messi, Henry, Etoo/Villa, Torres do the scoring. The man is a beauty to watch. Because of the way he plays he will also age better than Lampard.

Barca has problems now. Toure has played from the centre back position in the last two games. If barca is to win the ucl toure has too play in the defensive position  or expect another game like the chelsea barca 2nd leg semifinal. I just hope dat eto discovers his scoring boots
Puyol is back and could should play in the centre with Pique. He's faster than Toure and that midget Tevez runs too much. Sylvinho and maybe Pedro could play on the flanks. Toure will play very deep. I'm not too concerned about defence.

I think Man U. will score no matter what. We just need to score more. My main headache is Etoo. The guy should just cool down and take his chances. Messi will stand this time around. He has to make amends for the last time. He also has a personal point to prove.

Na wa oh! Yesterday was too much. Hope, impatience, frustration, depression, anger and then . . . GOOOOOAAAAAAL!

I feel for Chelsea but that's soccer. INIESTA IS DA MAN! Yesterday the people that tried hardest were Iniesta, Xavi, Toure, Pique and VALDES!. I used to doubt the guy but he saved us yesterday.

Cracking goal from Iniesta! But we have to really plan for Man U. Playing like we did yesterday may not be good enough. Its true there was no Henry but no excuses.

I've never been more relieved by a goal. LAST MINUTE. Even Mr. Cool Guardiola looked like a mad man. See how he was struggling to get the subs on.

Next stop . . . Copa del Rey against Atletic. No risks: rest Henry and Messi.

The EPL doesn't suck. But its very irritating that so many people think its the only one and that its by far the best.

The best team in the world today is Spanish followed by four English teams. The next English team to make the list probably comes up in the 25th place (Aston Villa). The EPL has some of the best teams and is definitely not a crap league, but to say its the best. undecided
