the theme of this years carnival was “Africanism” that was the story being told by every participating band. Every band tried to tell the African story as best the could and I’m sure you could see those people in that photo wearing colonial hats. Nobody was trying to be Putin or whatever just simply telling the African story from early man to the present day and the colonialism in Africa at the time is a sad part of it. |
