@poster:thank you for this post. |
becomrich3, are you ok? |
What have they done differently from the 2007 election?billions are being spent to get it right this time around. i'm sorry, i don't think nigeria is ready for accuracy when it comes to election process. |
Ibb time don pass, he should respect his diminishing image and go and hide in koma jungle. ![]() |
But do not get carried away (Babangida's opposition), because the road to Aso Rock is still very much wide open for Babangida, Northerners are very patient and have the habit of pulling together when it counts the most (last minute).i agree |
Babangida is a smart man, but if you set aside sentiment it won't take you too long to figure out his state of mind.hmmmmm |
In fact, it is because of IBB that I've developed a soft spot for Jonathan to contest in 2011this post right here is one of the reasons why nigeria will be underdeveloped for a very long time. i hate candidate# 3, there fore i will go ahead and vote for candidate# 4, even though it is obvious that candidate# 4 has no idea what his job is all about. i'm not here trying to promote or support anybody, but we should try to use our head when we are about to make an important decision. this type of thinking will only leave us longer in darkness. |
very tough decision to make. it reminds me of jamb exam, my head hurts. |
Nigeria needs iron hand, a tough entity and a complete leader, who listens attentively, who has enormous experience, who isn't afraid to make any tough decisions and who has too much to lose if things are not done accordingly.hmmmmm I still don't see any other candidate in this country that will attack corruption head on and make big things happen quickly like our one and only IBB.hmmmmm Let us stop day dreaming, Uncle Jonathan can not make anything happen, leading or making tough decisions isn't his nature. He has no clue and doesn't really know where exactly to begin. He will be pushed around by the obvious for the next 8 years like a pickup truck that has no battery.hmmmmmm If you honestly understand our system, our leaders, politics, our people and this country, you'll understand why it is extremely important for IBB to be back asap and set up a solid foundation for the youth to carry on. This is why his running mate will be the key and the message that will be understood by most of us, please mark it downhmmmmmm No IBB, It will be the same old story and we will be forever in darkness.oga mi, you don finish talk. |
My friends, it is what it is. You can not ask or force a chicken to give birth to a lion, it is absolutely impossible. Uncle Goodluck just like other local champions is not a useless man; apart from being incompetent he also has no balls to lead this nation. He will not produce today or tomorrow, it is that simple.hmnn Indeed. The signs are crystal clear that Jonathan , just like Yar Adua , will entrust Nigeria's future to the most ruinous hands possible if he becomes President . Why are the criminals , who all kept quiet when Jonathan was being persecuted , campaigning for him while those who valiantly fought for him to become acting President now shun his 2011 ambition totally? ![]() |
this is a trap full of goodies. acknowledge this condition, yorubas and igbos can just kiss ever winning presidential election in nigeria as soon as uncle jonathan completes his term as the next president of nigeria |
Constant bashing/attacking/cursing will only bring sympathy toward Babangida's camp.true |
yep, i agree. northerners have already starting to feel bad for their brother. the end result of this will be very interesting. the person that laughs last got the best deal. ibb may end up laughing @ the end of the whole process. we shall see. |
you definitely don't want to turn this election to north vs south. in fact, i am not sure if what occured in ibadan sits right with the northerners. if you're in north you will know that what happened in ibadan has been on the tv for the past few days now. i will not be surprised if this was how ibb's camp planned it and the message they intended to send to their fellow nigerians (the northerners). don't be too quick to jump, it is ok to think out of the box. |

This is an incredibly selfish argumentpoliticians are mostly selfish |
No zoning arrangement in Nigeria is a priceless gift to the northernershmn. |
Atiku hails Northern governors National News Jul 27, 2010 Share | By Henry Umoru — FORMER Vice President Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, hailed the position of the northern state governors supporting the zoning arrangement of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, describing their actions as uncommon courage and patriotism to the country. According to Atiku Abubakar, by voting overwhelmingly for zoning, the governors had given all segments of the country a sense of belonging, just as he noted that it was sad and unfortunate that the issue had been politicized by those he termed dishonest and selfish politicians. Atiku who called for an end to the zoning debate, however, advised state and federal governments to devote their energies and resources to real governance and provision of democratic dividends to the people. In a statement from his media office in Abuja, the former presidential candidate of the Action Congress, AC, who recently returned to the PDP, said: “The zoning policy protects minority groups against domination by the majority. In a country as heterogeneous and complex as Nigeria, the zoning policy will ensure fairness and equity in the distribution of political offices. “We must cultivate the culture of honouring agreements in this country. We will not make progress in this country if our actions are driven simply by convenience.” |

@beaf, are you from the north? have you noticed that noone is really talking about atiku? |
@ beaf, i won't focus much on Atahiru Jega, there is so much he could do. people around him will be the problem and should be the one we should direct our focus on. in nigeria, it is widely known that people around you never share the same mentality as yourself. this is why most business men in nigeria baby sit their businesses; you can never count on people around you. election rigging could take place from both directions: either from the top or from the bottom, and politicians don't care, it is all about winning. i can assure you that this coming election will be very far from being perfect, in fact, may be it's going to be the worst election ever, because it is design this way. election is in less than a year, Atahiru Jega was selected about 2 or 3 months ago, it is a common sense to know that Atahiru Jega will not be able to perform magic. to me, i think this is a failure that is designed in advance. please don't count on this coming election. |
@beaf, sorry to bust your bubble, your next president (yoruba, hausa or igbo) in nigeria for the next 16 years are all going to be nothing but criminals, there is nothing you can do about it. if electing criminal is your concern, my advise for you is to forget it. it is inevitable for at least 16 years more if you totally understand our politics and politicians at home, you'll understand that the diff btw jonathan, atiku, akala, ibb, el rufai, fashola and many others, isn't much. they are all the same people from the same blood, the same system. and i can assure you that this defective system is ready to stay for the next 16 years. |
in fact, some of these people are making this noise only because they know for sure that jonathan isn't contesting. someone also said atiku might be the chosen one. if a sitting president still can not reveal at this point that he's contesting, it is a common sense that he isn't going to contest. my advise for you guys pulling for jonathan is, don't break your heart, jonathan is not going to contest for the 2011 presidential election |
@beaf, whatever you want to call them, they will not vote for jonathan. till today, a good percentage of northerners still don't fully respect jonathan and don't see him as their leader. the story you posted is nothing but politics or politician story, we shall see when it comes down to it. |
do not forget that jonathan became our president today only because of zoning arrangement. and zoning was recognized up until yaradua died. jonathan himself will even agree that zoning was in place when he became the vp and in fact it was part of the plans why he was picked as the vp. |
yes, they realize how they are suffering just like other nigerians after ruling for 38 of our 49 years, but the truth is northerners don't see jonathan as their saviour. if you completely understand northerners you will understand that an average northerners will rather see another northerner as the president of this country regardless of the outcome. this is also why many people (yoruba and igbo)do not want to see ibb to contest, because even with bad track record, they know that ibb will be elected by his people before any yoruba or igbo man is elected. i repeat an average northerner will vote for another northerner any time any day regardless of what is going on in nigeria. |
yep, atiku has been an old news for the past few months, i will not be surprised if these people surprise us. it is for sure that jonathan will not or can not contest. and looking @ it, if it is up to obasojo, i honestly think that atiku might be the chosen one. |
northerners will turn this country upside down if zoning is ruled out. the only reason why zoning should be allowed is the fact that zoning was what brought Jonathan to this spot today. the same zoning arrangement was acknowledged up until yaradua died. northerners have the right to fight for their rights. @poster, do not let a couple of northerners deceive you, they do not represent the real northerners. i can assure you that northerners will fight till the end if zoning is not recognized. |
sweetheart: go to bed i think you're tired |
sweetheart: even though, yes, i do know a lot about ribadu; probably much more than you do. but to be honest, i need not to know anything about this man to understand what to expect from a leader. he did his thing, but not enough to make him a leader or to make me fall off my chair. just remember that he isn't a politician, he wasn't elected, he was selected and may be that was why he was very selective doing his job. again, it is ok to have respect for ribadu, he's a good man, but do not let us get carried away, i see nothing special in doing what your job description says. let us stop foo ling ourselves and raise up our expection. this is the only way we'll witness great leaders in nigeria. |
Aigbofa: rule is rule, it is now up to you to obey the rule. yes, he got air time in usa and uk only to make foo l of himself and his fellow citizens. yes, i happen to know a lot on how this interviews are conducted. nigeria will become a better country as soon as we quit quickly settling for nothing. again, ribadu is a good man, no doubt about it. but i see no big deal and definitely learn nothing new from this interview. do not allow the defective system of nigeria to further lower your mentality level, let us grow and learn more about the roles of a leader before coming out publicly to praise anybody. personally, i expected more from ribadu, he let us down. |
of course, it is easy to answer questions from a selected reporter from whole bunch of them out there trying to get the same opportunity. the easiest thing to do is answering questions that were submitted to you a week before the actual interview. it is foolis h for anyone to praise ribadu just because he's answering questions in his office or house, i mean, what else do you expect? ibb or obasojo could have simply done the same or even better. what ribadu should have done was to answer these questions in the court of law, when he was invited up to 5 times, just like any other nigerian citizen. people would have been more impressed by his action in the court of law not in his office or living room. if we continue to praise people over doing their job or doing what they suppose to do, nigeria as a country will not go anywhere. this is more or less like praising a father for providing food for his 2 month old baby; for god sake this happens to be his responsibility. people like ribadu will not get a minute of air time in united states. and by the way, ribadu is still a good man, but he failed; telling all these stories will not change the fact. ribadu is not late sarowiwa or late gani f., do not get thing twisted. it this time for everyone of us to clearly understand the roles of a leader and stop foo ling ourselve with these bunch of half baked leaders we have in this country. |
