I think you are doing fine and you should be able to get at least an 8.5 in listening and reading. Personally, I think the Cambridge prep test looks more like the real exam than the ieltsonline. However the exam itself can be funny at times. Strange maps or labelling of machine parts that will even make the ieltsonline look easy. Now that you have prepared well, pray for luck. For this case, I would ask, what is the PA's CRS score now. If it is considerably lower than 470. Say 450s or mid 460s, then the 1500 cad may be worth the risk. Their fate will be in the hand of the VO. They can only be hopeful. Except we have clear cases of people who have been rejected here because of that drawback, otherwise, I say proceed if CRS score isn't comfortably sitting in the 470s. lasignor: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Wow...Big Congrats Pyad. When I saw your initial result, I knew it was impossible for you to get a 6.5 in writing. I am happy your beautiful result became yours eventually. I wish you the best on the rest of your journey. Pyad: 4 Likes |

I think your best option is to go learn French and take the TEF exam. At this point, age is not on your side and CRS scores may not come lower than 470 anytime soon. French can add 42 points if you pass..however, it is not a walk in the park. If you are married, and your wife is younger, then she may be better of being the PA. If you aren't married, you can consider falling in love and marrying someone that has a Masters and aged between 25-28 who is also interested in moving to Canada. I wish you all the best. If your ECA is not done with your evaluation number imputed, or your IELTS is not done with TRN number imputed, then you will be ineligible. Make sure you inputed your numbers. If you did this, then I can't see why you will be ineligible. Maybe you will need to close that profile and start again. profeddor15: 1 Like 1 Share |

I had to rewrite all 4 sections. It took them about 12 days to give me the final feedback offering me a free test. I was asked to pick any test dates between June 13th and September 12th and I picked June 13th. I had just one day to prepare because I received the mail June 11th. I eventually passed that free test and I thank God I got the free offer because I got a 7.5 in the previous Reading section, and got an 8 in the free test. So it all worked for my good. I wish you all the best. firpemi: |

Wow..it's clear that the first two draws they do will be close to the mid 470s. After that point, I believe draws will drop to the late 460s. I really hope guys with CRS in the 460s.. Mamaroon: |

Lolzzz..I feel you..IELTS is the humbler of men. Like I say again to people, after all the serious preparation, pray for luck..the outcome of the exam has a lot to do with luck. Even in speaking, luck plays a role..if you meet a speaking examiner that leads you on well, you will have a good time answering their questions and score well..if you meet a straight faced examiner that doesn't ask many connecting questions and doesn't lead you well, you wouldn't talk much and it would affect your score. Ultimately, it's to prepare very well, and pray for favour with the exam. Neam9: 2 Likes |

Great..Please try Alex too..look for a video on her ultimate tips for reading(I can't exactly remember the title of that video). But that video completely changed my approach to the reading section. Honestly, I think reading still remains the easiest part of that exam. In reading, you can get a 9(40/40) without too much stress.. For listening, keep practicing the ieltsonline test and Cambridge. Practice difficult map questions, practice multiple choice questions(those with 3 options) with very long worded answer options. Also practice questions multiple choice where they have like 8 options. I think those are the hardest kind of questions in the listening section. All the best Teemez: 4 Likes 5 Shares |

Well, I took that advice when I had a 7.5 in listening and rewrote the exam. But someone on this thread has had reading score changed from 6.5 to 7. It means that the reading and listening can also be a bit subjective. ShoeShineGuy: |

That May 30th reading was hard. It was probably the hardest I had done even during my practice. Luck is a big factor in this exam. Toludebs: |

Hello guys, is there anyone here working as an energy manager? Also, what salary should I aim for if I live in Toronto, and my wife schools full time? And we live in a 2 bed apartment. I would really like to have a realistic expectation. Thanks |

Hi Teemez..I mostly scored between 33-38 in the listening test. I was discouraged when I scored 33, but I encouraged myself. I think generally, the speakers speak faster on ieltsonline than they do in Cambridge. Look out for listening test where the speakers talk very fast. Look for maps, look for multiple choice questions with long sentences in the options. For me, those are the toughest areas to overcome. Section 1&4 are typically always a breeze through. As for reading, I have always been pretty confident. I learnt a method of answering the questions from Alex,(Alex&Jay on Youtube). I read each paragraph, and then look through all the questions to find any question relating to the paragraph I just read, then I move on to the next paragraph. With that, I was always able to have ample time to revise my answers at the end. quote author=Teemez post=91103290]Good evening bro Please what was your best score in Listening and Reading when practicing with ieltsonlinetest.com? Your response will be highly appreciated. My Exam is next month. [/quote] 2 Likes |

Bro..I was in your shoes some months ago..I maxed out the other areas and I had a 7.5 in listening. The advice I got on this thread and outside was not to bother remarking listening. That listeming and reading often come back unchanged. It pained me, but I summed up courage and wrote it again. Be encouraged bro..it's not easy to gather the emotional strenght to rewrite that exam, but that may be your best choice now. Also, you will have another chance of maxing out the other areas. I recently went back to part 4 and saw a testimony of someone whose reading score changed when he remarked, so who knows, you can give remark a shot since it's 15k now. I wish you better luck next time. Mo2020: 1 Like |

Thanks.. Well, the one I eventually passed, I prepared for it in one day, although I had prepared for and written the previous one less than two weeks prior to that time.I would say do your best, practice with Cambridge and https://ieltsonlinetests.com do the recent actual test for reading and listening. I think their listening are quite fast so it will train you to listen closer. For writing, you can contact Johnnybravo or Blissneye or Wasseynet or any of the verified writing tutors here. Some have a fee, others do for the love of God. In all, its not the length of time you take to practice. It's really about training your ears to listen attentively. I must tell you, luck is a big factor in passing this exam so pray you are lucky. All the best. FarmGang: 4 Likes 3 Shares |
