Lagos has one of the most expensive real estates in the world. And the sad thing is that we have to drop this cash once in most cases unlike abroad where they have mortgages of up to 25years. Check out prices of houses in the UK https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-house-price-index-for-january-2018 Lagos real estate cost is grossly overpriced. |
Bro..it is God that blesses the work of a man's hands. Never think because you have gained knowledge, you deserve more. Realise that all you can ever have is gonna be given to you by God. God is the one that lifts up servants and causes them to ride on horses. Hardwork and gaining skills is very critical, but more than that is trusting in God totally. He is the only one that can lift you up. Never give up bro.. Be ready to start small and pour your heart into whatever little you are doing, even if it is doing home lessons for students where they pay you 15k a month. If you get 3 of those students, that is 45k and can take care of your very basic needs. Keep friends that help you grow, show you opportunities and never give up on you. And never give up on yourself bro..your are so close to your breakthrough. You only need to have and maintain the right attitude. My friend applied to Andela several times and he finally got in..Those guys are always recruiting. Here is another job opening. https://teamapt.com/careers/job-openings/ And when you say you are good, make sure you are in the right environment and competing with the best. Be constantly challenged by people that challenge you. Do not be isolated at all..You will get there soon.. All the best bro.. Salvation is only in Christ Jesus.. |

Hey guyz, congratz to all that have received the success mail, and I say a big welcome to you into the Power Industry. Nigeria is way overdue for a revolution in our Power Sector. I wanna enjoin every one that has received this job to see this opportunity, not just as a job to earn money, but rather,as part of the smart minds God has given the opportunity to change the Power Sector in Nigeria. Apart from our very poor Power Generation in Nigeria(currently averaging about 4GW,while Industrialized USA is doing over 1000gigawatts while constantly improving their energy mix), our distribution companies are constantly battling with their ATCn C (Aggregate technical, commercial and collection) losses. I therefore enjoin you guyz, especially the to quickly align yourselves, and brace yourselves as we battle darkness(literally) and usher in the dawn of light. Start getting relevant info, and starr seeing the power sector not just in the view of BEDC,but rather with a wider view, covering Nigeria,Africa, and the world. Get on NERCs website, and every other site that would give you relevant information on Nigeria's current Power status and where are headed. Cheers Bros NB:little background Sahara GEP Graduate of NAPTIN 2013/2014 Did TCN interview, passed and was dumped(normal magomago) Worked in multinational Telecoms Uniben Graduate with strong passion for Power *If you are passionate about Power, hit me up,I am looking to form a strong team, already have some recruits from the great minds with me here(SAHARA GEP and NAPTIN 2013/201) * |
benaikodon: I think its safer to get a medical certificate of a private hospital than ignoring NAPTIN's directive. You can't get that certificate from a private hospital.....well,try your luck..... |
lordnaruto: y sahara stingy like this, to do medicals for us na big deal for them, na wa o, even lesser coys do medicals for staff, anyway, I no blame them, the 2 interviews we did, na so we carry like 16 CVs go there. all is well sa, now doctors are on strike, wait, I fit use medical cert issued from yemkem centre for alternative therapy??Bro,its not Sahara asking u for certificate of fitness, its Naptin..Sahara will most Likely conduct medical exams 4 us when we are done with the training and offered permanent Positions. About the Medical cert, u need not bother, abi u wan call of d NMA strike...hehehehe... Good spirits bro...Allz well |

benik: All, if you just got a job with Sahara group congrats but permit me to say this do not sleep with both eyes shut and give yourself a timeline and be careful, Sahara is a one man business and they fire at will. no job security. so just be carefulGlo is a one man business... |

benaikodon: Thankfully you are currently undergoing training at NAPTIP, tell us what to expect and if the training will be all at NAPTIP SURULERE training facility for the duration of the 12months, or are we still going to EGBIN Power plant? We need this info in order to know whether to secure an accommodation in Surulere or go from home (For Lagos Residents)First of all,its NAPTIN not NAPTIP... I am on the training on an individual basis...ie,not company sponsored, therefore, there might be some difference in the organisation since its going to be structured for SAHARA.... The program consist of classroom orientation for 2weeks, field work for 3months, classwork for 3weeks, field work for 3months, classwork for 3weeks,field work for 3months, and finally a management taining for 2weeks...so,most of the 12months is going to be spent on the field...Remember,I am speaking in terms of the NAPTIN Graduate skill development program, and this may differ from NAPTIN training structured for SAHARA..We await all the complete info....Rest your mind.... Cheers |
benaikodon: I have received my admission letter and it contains several information including the monthly stipend and a confidentiality condition. Please understand that the confidentiality condition stated in the letter is the reason why those who have received the letter can not paste it on Nairaland or elsewhere, they would be doing that at their own peril.Yeah,I guessed so,datz why I didn't mention to paste the letter here....Personally,I am also currently undergoing the NAPTIN training, I believe they would have an arrangement for a few of us in that group...estimated count, 8 of us...cheers guyz...see y'all august 1st... |
Hey guys....howz everyone doing..those that have received their letters of employment and NAPTIN admission can give us some more detailed information....tanx guyz.... |
wallex1983: Everyone I chat with keeps saying, ....."Na God ooo". I like that so muchBros Wallex, How are you doing. Thanks you so much 4 all ur help bro... dabrains: take a bus to cms, u should get BRT from oshodi, drop at cms then take barbeach/eko hotel, drop at imb or tiamiyu if possible. from imb crossover to d oda side of the road, walk straight down(still on d same road), first turning by ur left, u would see d hotel with the name written at the top. make sure u always get to ericsson office at walter carrington before 5:30pm to join the staff bus, would save u cash and stress. |
Its been awhile on this thread...congratz all my TCN guyz..d wait is finally over..To all d prospective NAPTIN trainees...no fears,we meet in abuja on d 13th...cheers all... |

bigfrancis21: Success, bro. Your score isn't too bad, per se. If getting an assistantship is your greatest need, you might want to apply to less competitive schools. That way you stand a better chance of landing an admission + graduate assistantship.Bros Biggy...thanks somuch bro...really appreciate all d advice...I know my score aint that low though,as matter of fact, its actually above d average for University of Houston for my program, buh like I said,i aint sure its high enough for an assistantanship....since I plan going for spring 2015,i still av some time 2 retake the GRE...I knw assistantships are usually more difficult to get for the spring semester,so,i hope 2 be able 2 get an edge wiv d GRE score..As for applying for less competitive skuls...well,my major concern is wat d skul is offering in terms of my specific program and how good it is...but,then again,i also like the top notch teir1 skuls, especially doze in top 20...or at least top 50....big name counts too bro...I hope to retake the GRE by early next month....after which,i would start contacting the profs....thanks for ur kind advice bro...I wud sure make wise use of it....cheers man.... |
electronic: Thanks for the advise Bro !!. Bros,as e dey be nw...wiv dis ASUU strike ish...u sure say u go finish dat Msc soon...I advice u apply 4 ur phd straight ooo....look at 2014 fall...na to dey write d gre n toefl nw and start contacting d profs...mehn...skuling in US is not for d lilly livered ooo....see all d process...chai...meanwhile,if na UK,na dem for don dey call u 2 dey beg...its all good sha...well done bro.... |
dolapobello1: Yep, I've taken both exams. Looking to do a research program in mcb/devtal bio. Schools...not yet.. Ooooo...cool,hopefully,I wud be like u soon,I can't wait 2 get deze exams off my neck...guess u looking at fall 2014...welldone bro.... |
Amefrica: Una know unaself, you guys should just take am easy... Dis guy wan kill person wiv laf...hahahhahahahahaha |
dolapobello1: I totally understand your situation.I suggest you do what's best for you and ace the quant. Don't totally ignore the verbal though. Thanks bro...wat course/window/skulz are u looking at...av u taken d GRE and toefl? |
dolapobello1: For the verbal, I'd advice you to memorize (and use in daily parlance,) the Princeton Review's Hit Parade. It's gonna help.Bro..tanx man....I wud do my best wiv d memorizing of words,as a matter of fact,i still do remember quite a number of words I learnt then,buh..as av come 2 see,my program places more emphasis on d quant score...for instance..TAMU accepts 150 in verbal wiv a stellar 166 quant...so,i aint killing myself on verbal again,i nor fit jare...152 the last time after all d prep...abeg,me,av relaxed on dat area jare... ![]() cheers bro.... |
).lol....
, do you think a Gp of 4/5 . stands a chance for RA/TA (Msc or PHD).....I studied Elect/Elect.
