infact, I am quarrelling with Baron GRE! Now Quant mode. The thing is trickly easy...lol
Am not a power Guy though.
Am thinking of Control Systems, VLSI, Computer vision, Intelligent systems ... but I also need GA/TA ohhh!!! .... not Easy this days.

My Gp is 4.08/5....I hope its good enough! 4 GA/TA..

Am hoping 4 a solid 165 (IJN) in quant..whew!

NCSU and IOWA STATE are not that friendly with TA/GA 4 Msc applicants , moreover .ASIAN competition!!
Try to add other schools in the lower cadre.. and try communicating with Profs, you never know! uckd be lucky.

Canadian .schools are more generous to Msc. applicants (excluding top notches that are competitive). Just do a little Prof mailing...lol

Thanks for u response bro...I aint so bent on TAMU cos,though I like the skul,I have not exactly fallen for d structure of my particular program...my top choices are actually UH,ISU,NCSU...loved d arrangement of my program dat UH runs...buh,at d moment,dere is a dearth of Power profs in d department,contacted d one I cud find,and d guy don port go Uni of denver,d department rep told me dey plan on recruiting new power guyz...on d oda hand,d structure of ISU is top notch...dey av 2 power research centres...on deir site,dey stated dat 60percent of masters get assistanship,and 80percent for phd...so,I dey wait to kill d GRE 1st b4 I contact a faculty in ISU and NCSU while waiting for UH to recruit deir guyz...u said u not in yankee...u plan on goin dere,wat window/course are u looking at?...cheers bro...

chukdc: Stop raising your BP just be patient.All those that were shortlisted for both the interview and aptitude will be contacted through the e mail address and SMS either to tell you that you are successful or that you are not successful. Everybody must get a good or bad message,all this text and call is never a guarantee for success.Just pray that you be among the less than 15 people to be successful from your state.The official calender states that training course for new TCN staffers starts this September. Keep you hopes high.

Hey guyz.....relax,am sure by next week,this will be all over.Some people had deir details clear enough for the consultants to see,and so,they were not contacted.some other people needed further clarification,and so were contacted.Being contacted isn't the mark for success,i wasn't contacted for my details,with all this noise here,i had to call Moradechi,the south south consultant to ask why I wasn't contacted to provide my details,he checked and confirmed my details were in other,so chill guyz,allz well...e don almost finish.He told me we would mostlikely be contacted by TCN this week or next..So lets all chillax and thank God,am sure by next week,we had be congratulating each other..cheers guyz...

bigfrancis021: 3.46 will get you somewhere around 3.20/4.0. Its still above the 3.0 bench mark for most good universities in the US. As for paying for WES using your mastercard, yes you can. Kunlebal just paid for his WES translation using his GTB ATM card on monday.

Email a faculty member at UH to see what chances you stand. Your scores and GPA could get you what you want but only if you apply to less competitive schools or less-than-average schools.

University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign which is the third best university in the US for engineering stated on their website that you must have at least 90% of 340 or 306 in your GRE to stand a chance for admission! And you are 2 points ahead. C'mon, your score's ok.

Go ahead and apply. You should be fine. What is your UG CGPA?

Hey guyz...I wanna say I av greatly learnt a lot from dis thread since I begun following it about 2yrs ago...tanx 2 all 4 ur contributions...tanx and big congratz 2 bigfrancis,u sent me my 1st materials...am glad 4 all ur testimonies and so encouraged....I took d gre test on d 30th of May,been so dissappointed in my score,so I didn't post my score...Scored quant 156 and verbal 152...was aiming 4 a 165quant and 160 verbal at least...AWA was 3/6....I wanna retake d test...buh I need 2 find a way 2 crackdown on my weak areas....I am so impressed by SHAYBOY's score....hw can I get/buy d Nova gre bible book....I used kaplan...which was a total fiasco,I wasted my time wiv it...den gruber,and barron...barron was ok,buh it cudnt help me attain my goal...I wanna apply 2 TAMU,NCSU,University of Houston,texas....all Power systems...I just wanna receive encouragement and tips 4m d guyz dat av aced dis exams....tanx y'all....God bless.....

@chuksda...I spoke wiv Moradechi,d recruitment agency 4 south south zone dis evening,and dey are not aware of any supposed contact 2moa....so,if derez gonna be any contact 2moa,it aint gonna be from d recruitment agencies,buh rather from d ministry of power directly....we all just waiting 2 see....cheers every1....

Hey guyz...I wanna appreciate all doze dat av kept dis thread lively and goin....I wanna say dat we are so priviledged 2 be coming into d Power sector at such a crucial and revolutionary time...We are indeed favored..Let's leabe d talk on how much d job is gonna pay....personally...I dnt give a hoot if am gonna be paid 5k for my 1st year...d truth is dat we are rily priviledged because d Power sector is about 2 blow...in d end,we gonna be earning way more box than our colleagues in d oil and gas sector...for nw,our focus shud be on getting d training and becoming relevant and indispensible in dis sector..dere is a huge dearth of Power engineers in Nigeria...d skilled ones are old and retiring,and we are obviously d take ova generation...TCN is a beautiful place 2 start...becoming a Power engineer wiv a background in transmission means u had do well in all 3 teirs(gen,trans,dist) cos transmission is like d fada of dem all...4 doze dat wud not be offered d job,I wanna say dat dere aint any need 2 give up if u had a passion for Power engineering...try again,and pls go 2 NAPTIN...power is gonna become so crazy...goodluck guyz....
