Thanks.. Well, the one I eventually passed, I prepared for it in one day, although I had prepared for and written the previous one less than two weeks prior to that time.I would say do your best, practice with Cambridge and https://ieltsonlinetests.com do the recent actual test for reading and listening. I think their listening are quite fast so it will train you to listen closer. For writing, you can contact Johnnybravo or Blissneye or Wasseynet or any of the verified writing tutors here. Some have a fee, others do for the love of God. In all, its not the length of time you take to practice. It's really about training your ears to listen attentively. I must tell you, luck is a big factor in passing this exam so pray you are lucky. All the best. FarmGang: |

IELTS Victory at last. June 13th LRWS 8.5/8/7/7.5 May 30th( The one there was a power cut during my listening test and I missed answering 4 questions) LRWS 7.5/7.5/7/8.5 March 7th BC LRWS 7.5/8.5/7.5/8 All works together for the God of them that love the Lord. Thanks to ednut1 and Mamaroon that told me to contact IDP Australia to report the listening test incidence. I would have needed to spend another 73k. Thanks to everyone that encouraged me not to give up. I am very grateful. New CRS is 476..Ese Baba |
Hi Mamaroon, thanks for the info. Please help clarify. This directorship situation only applies if one is claiming work experience points with the said company right? Or do you mean, if I am a director in a company which I am not claiming points with, I have to declare that information? Thanks Mamaroon: |
Yeah, I wrote in Lagos. My center was Former Alliance Francaise building, Yaba. chigrad: |
Hi, I wrote IELTS with MOD two weekends ago. Yes, there is adequate spacing. They typically admit 20 candidates per test venue. They give you headphones. You come with your pencils for L,R,W sections. You use a general pen which they sanitize after anyone touches it to sign the attendance sheet. I wrote twice with MOD in the last one month. My first experience was bad because they weren't organized in that center and there was a power cut during my listening section and I missed answering 4 questions. After several emails, I was offered a free retake of the test. My second test was a much better experience, they were very organized. I wish you all the best. chigrad: |
Thanks fit your kind words Ma. Hopefully, it will come out very fine...Thanks a lot. Prisscindy: |
Thanks a lot for your advice ednut1. I mailed both IDP Australia and MOD guys in Nigeria. After several mail exchanges, I was contacted on Thursday and offered a resit of the test. I took the test today. I hope for a positive outcome. Thanks once again. ednut1: |
Thank you His method is very simple, but it works all the time. Sunkeke: |
Anyone struggling with IELTS writing test should simply contact Johnnybravo. I think his fee is very reasonable. He simply teaches you his formula to IELTS writing and how to apply it. I humbled myself, used his formula, and I got a 7.5 in my writing. See me doing free advert. ![]() |
Have you maxed out your work experience (ie at least 3 years), is your CRS score increasing or decreasing based on age? For some people, waiting it out one more year to add one year to their age and work experience could make all the difference for them Kekereekun123: |
Depends on what bank you are using. I paid for WES this Sunday using my GT Card and it came down to about 291/CAD NStar: |
Thanks a lot I appreciate. Would do that. Abuja2canada: |
Yeah, that's my major concern. Do you think ETX.NG can do the electronic transcript for CIPM? Will WES accept it. Because when the WES account was created, they put ETX as the BSC transcript option, and mail as the option for CIPM. What do you advice I do in this situation? Abuja2canada: |
Hi Everyone Please is there anyone that has evaluated their CIPM with WES during this lockdown? Is WES still accepting hard copy transcripts? What's the typical duration for CIPM transcript to be sent to WES for evaluation. Thanks for your response. |
Well, the examiner first gave me the impression that she was going to restart the tape, then she later ignored. I was totally disoriented at that point and had lost pace. I later caught up after missing 4 questions. Like I said before, my previous attempt on the last test, I had maxed out the other sections and had a 7.5 in listening. This time, I was determined to max out listening before the horrible incidence happened. At this point, I have come to the reality that the option I may be given is a free retake of the test, so I am gradually brazing my self up for it. All will be well indeed. Meanwhile, I have already sent IDP Australia and copied the Nigerian guys a well structured and worded mail. I hope they respond soon. pharmguru: |
It's indeed absurd and sad. listowell: |
That's what I would have expected. listowell: |
Thanks so much Mamoroon, your advice makes a lot of sense. The examiner was bold enough to say that since I was the only one that complained, so my complaint was inconsequential. I have done exactly as @ednut1 adviced me. I have sent a well thought out mail to IDP Australia and copied the Nigerian guys. And as you have suggested, I will keep disturbing their mail till I get a response. I really couldn't understand how they couldn't put the audio on a UPS. Thanks for the advice once again. I hope this yields the desired results. Mamaroon: |
Thanks so so much ednut1. I think this is exactly what I will do now. The lady confessed that they could even loose their license because of the power cut. I will do just this..send a very worded mail to Australia. Thanks a lot ednut1: |
Thanks for clarifying, however the power cut made me loose concentration and I didn't pick at what point it started. Prior to that point, my test was smooth and since the issue happened because of the power cut, I believe they owe me a reasonable resolution. I do not know the best way to pursue a resolution, and I seek guidance. oyukuwife: |
Yeah, I completed an incidence form. Do you have any experience with such matters? NaijaGoingMaple: |
Yeah, they should at least have begun from the last question. When I comolained, she said I was the only complaining so she treated my complaimt as a non-issue. Please anyone with exoeriemce on resolving this kinds of issues should please coumsel me on what to do. listowell: |
I was the only one with that complaint. The hall had 20 Test Takers. The test was on Allen Avenue. Thanks for your response. I truly hope I can get some wisdom on how to resolve this BlestHanneSSG: |
Hello all I just took the IELTS with MOD. It's my second time I am taking the test. I was really pained with my last result when I took the test in March. I scored a 7.5 in listening but maxed out the other sections. Today, during the listening test, there was a power cut at the last section. When the power was restored, the examiner said she would take the tape 3 seconds back. When she played the tape, I noticed that the question which we were on before the power cut was already past and the tape begun from the next question. I raised my hands to beckon on the examiner, initially she ignored, I told her the tape didn't start in the right place and was ahead. She behaved as though she was going to play it back first, then ignored me again. In all this time, the tape continued playing and I didn't answer 4 questions. I finally begun answering the questions from number 38-40. I already have my doubts on 2 questions before then but expected to ace the fourth section since it's the easiest. Please, how do I seek a resolution of this, I really do not think I have the emotional strength to rewrite the entire test. I have filled a complaint form and sent a mail to them insisting on taking only the last section of the listening test. Please what's the best advice for me to seek resolution of this. My speaking test is on Monday. Thanks for your responses. |
Thanks a lot for the encouragement. i just never thought I will need to write the IELTS more than once. Please what are my chances of having it changed if I remark? thanks EyesondPrize: |
Hello guys, thanks for all the amazing info you keep sharing here, been following for awhile now. I just saw my IELTS results and I am weeping. LRWS 7.5/8.5/7.5/8 Wifey: LRWS 8.5/7.5/7/7.5 I don't think I am ready for the emotional drama of rewriting the IELTS. I have evaluated my transcript but didn't bother evaluating wifey's own because I was to be the PA. I have a Masters degree, Wifey has CIPM and BSC. I guess I will just begin the long journey of evaluating her credentials. Please help me confirm that CIPM is still valid as additional certificate? What are my chances of having my listening score changed if I remark. I currently have everything set on my end, WES, reference letter from previous employer and I would have been sitting at 476 if I at least got an 8 in listening an ITA would have been sure. If Wifey becomes the PA, we can get be at a 484 but that's months of waiting for ECA evaluation and going to get reference letters from current and previous employers. Please I need wise counsel. Thanks fam |
This has been an interesting and entertaining argument. My first question is this, what kind of life do you want to live. If you want to live an average and comfortable life with decent amenities and opportunities for you family, and with that you will be satisfied, I would say Canada offers you that comfort. If you want to be stinkingly rich, have influence, make changes, better more peoples lives, I would say Nigeria is that country because Nigeria is hugely untapped. Our unique problems offer us unique opportunities for making impact and making tones of money in the process. However, getting those opportunities can be challenging. From my observation, it becomes easier to access the opportunities in Nigeria when you are coming with international exposure, clout and international funding. It becomes easier for players and the government to listen to you. So, I would say if you choose to go, try not to be among the guys living their lives to pay their mortgage and other bills. Be strategic, make the right connection, and once you get your passport and the time is right, plan your strategic return to Nigeria and position your self for strategic business and influence in Nigeria. My 2cents on the matter. Cheers |
