PoliticsRe: Why Do Fulanis from Kwara Like Adopting Yoruba Names: Like Kolapo And Bukola by crisngige(op): 11:10pm On Sep 21, 2015
What's the meaning of Illorin, does anyone know?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Hates Saraki Because He Is Not Fulani by crisngige(m): 3:12pm On Sep 21, 2015
@ VirginFinder: Emir of Illorin (a Fulani) has Kolapo as his name too. I hope you know he is Fulani.
The Fulani's are a very adaptable people that embrace the culture of people around them. Their Fulfulde indigenuous language is reserved as a palace code.

Last point: the name 'Saraki' may also be a corruption of the Hausa word 'Seriki' ('king' in Hausa for all you know).
Also remember: Buhari will not intervene to favor even his brother if that will be an abuse of due process.

VirginFinder:
Then why are his 'Fulani' brothers persecuting him?

Do Bukola and Saraki look like Fulani names?

If you claim to be a chimpanzee, does that make you one?

You are just as dull as chukwudi44 and freeglobe.

For me, I am pro-Saraki cos we Yorubas cant afford to lose the Senate Presidency in addition to the Speakership.

Saraki is being witch-hunted because of his Yoruba ethnicity.
Abubakar Olusola Saraki is Fulani. Don't rope Buhari into Saraki's situation, please. When Nuhu Ribadu (a Fulani) was demoted during Yar'Adua's (also a Fulani) tenure, would it have been correct to say Ribadu wasn't Fulani?
FamilyRe: My Wife Nags Anytime Am Broke, Please Advise by crisngige(m): 7:15am On Sep 09, 2015
Your wife may be under the influence of a very materialistic friend of hers. If that is so, even if you start earning N1 million tomorow, she will always nag when the money is down to N300K, as she will see that as you being broke, because she has to keep up with her 'friend'.

Think back to the stories she tells you in happier times of when her friend's husband bought a new car or phone for her friend. If she began to nag you for a new car or phone just around that time, discourage her from continuing to keep such a friend, or else you may not be free from nagging, no matter how rich you become tomorrow.

lari03:
Your great great grandfather was from Mali, but your father's surname was Saraki: a yoruba surname; Your father's first name was Sola, he married a yoruba woman and he named his son: Bukola & his daughter: Gbemisola.
Now tell us how un-fulani can you get, stop dwelling on the confused foundations of Ilorin to peddle political lies. A real fulani man will never bear a yoruba name, because every African is proud of their heritage, and our names serve as a reminder of where we come from.
If the Sarakis say they are Fulani (which is not hard to believe giving the history of the North) then we should all respect
that.
PoliticsRe: Saraki, fulani And Nigerian Politics: Answered by crisngige(m): 6:46pm On Jun 13, 2015
In the North Fulani speak Hausa. In Illorin they speak Yoruba; but they have their own language called Fulfude which they speak to among themselves. That Fula or Fulfude is the native language of Buhari and Atiku and Saraki and Tambuwal and Ribadu. Fulani are the geniuses of political organization.
PoliticsRe: Saraki, fulani And Nigerian Politics: Answered by crisngige(m): 6:35pm On Jun 13, 2015
So the Emir Kolapo of Illorin is not Fulani because of his Yoruba name abi?Fulani adopt the names of the people around them in order to politicaly adapt and it works for them. There is nothing shameful about that.
superstar1:
OP, it seems the reality of Saraki being yoruba seems a bitter pill to swallow.

Do you think all African ethnic groups are not proud of their heritage like y1bos, that names their children names of other ethnicities eg Bamidele Azikwe -- that is even the first born of the greatest Y1boman that ever liveth.

His name is bukola.

His surname is saraki.

His father's name is Olusola.

His mother's name is Morenike

His sister's name is Gbemisola.

I love this "One Nigeria Fulani Family" then. They were so captivated by the alluring Yoruba names, languages and culture, that they embraced it in its totality.

Bukola is a Yoruba name.
Tinubu's candidate was George Akume. Stop chatting nonsense.
Bukola is a Yoruba name but Saraki is Fulani, and Tinubu may still spring a surprise. Fact.
PoliticsRe: South West Has Lost Out by crisngige(m): 2:23pm On Jun 09, 2015
The Fulanis of Illorin like adopting Yoruba names, e.g., Emir Kolapo Sulu Gambari of Illorin, but does that mean the South West has lost out? Let's wait for the House of Reps election. Tinubu is wily politician and might just spring a surprise.

Unknown to many Nigerians, Bukola Saraki is Fulani, even with his adopted Yoruba name of Bukola. It is the practice of Fulanis in Kwara to adopt Yoruba names. What do you think are the factors that make Fulanis so successful in Nigerian politics.

What role did the Igbos play in this emergence?
PoliticsRe: Bukola Saraki Is The Senate President Of The 8th NASS by crisngige(m): 10:51am On Jun 09, 2015
So Fulani now has both President and Senate President. You got to give it to that tribe.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Fulanis from Kwara Like Adopting Yoruba Names: Like Kolapo And Bukola by crisngige(op): 1:39pm On May 15, 2015
Bukola Saraki is Fulani. Emir Kolapo Sulu Gambari of Illorin is Fulani. It is Fulani culture to name themselves after the majority tribes wherever they settle. They are both Fulanis.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Fulanis from Kwara Like Adopting Yoruba Names: Like Kolapo And Bukola by crisngige(op): 10:02pm On May 14, 2015
@ xreal
they say they are Fulani so thats what they are. Its just like Rotimi Amaechi that also adopted Rotimi (Yoruba name) but he is not Yoruba but Igbo.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Fulanis from Kwara Like Adopting Yoruba Names: Like Kolapo And Bukola by crisngige(op): 9:57pm On May 14, 2015
Maybe that's why he has great support in the North for senate presidency. President and senate president will then be Fulani.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Fulanis from Kwara Like Adopting Yoruba Names: Like Kolapo And Bukola by crisngige(op): 9:53pm On May 14, 2015
Even in the North the Fulani dont speak their Fufulde language but speak Hausa instead.

I feel it is a political strategy.

Other examples are the Fulani Emir who adopted the Yoruba name Kolapo and Tunde Idiagbon. If anybody knows why let him say it here.

OduaVanguard:
LOL. Hello? ? Last time I checked Saraki = Yoruba = APC cheesy So either way you slice or dice it, a Yorubaman will be either Senate president or Speaker of the House. Now choke on that.

p.s: This your Tinubu hatorade you are sipping is bad for your health boy! Easy now cheesy
Point of correction: the Saraki is not Yoruba but Fulani. The Fulani of Kwara State like adopting Yoruba names to better mix with the Yoruba majority. For example Tunde Idiagbon and the Fulani Emir of Illorin who adopted the Yoruba name Kolapo.

Nairaland GeneralBreaking! Rooftop Riders Attack Innocent Lagosians With Rocks by crisngige(op): 7:02pm On Apr 05, 2013
Innocent Lagosian passers-by and those in cars and buses at the Ikeja Along Bus Stop were this evening (5:30pm) attacked by passengers on the rooftops of a passing train who pelted them with heavy stones from the train. It was like a gun attack as everyone, including those inside buses and cars ran for cover.
Meanwhile the unruly rooftop riders seemed to be taunting those on the ground. It is not known what might have angered these illegal train passengers, but what they did posed a serious threat to lives and property, and the train authorities and the police should investigate this and bring the culprits to book.

My 2 cups of garri is: if you will sponsor your lover first test the person for loyalty/hidden agendas. How to test well? Don't ask me.
