Am a student of Lagos State University. My infinix zero got stolen some months back and since then have not really owned a beast phone. I recently got some cash and I think its time I get a good gadget once again. Now, am at cross roads, I don't know the one to go for between the bryte gold coloured tablet and the recently launched Lenovo k3 note smartphone. The bryte ipx8 tablet is an 8inch tablet powered by the android 4.4.2 kit kat, dual sim card slots, too. The lenovo k3 note (5.5 inch) is powered by the latest android 5.0 lollipop operating system. They both have virtually the same specs, with just the OS, the screen size, albeit the bryte tablet has a stylus pen, which to some extent is a huge plus. Am a student, I love to read, take selfies, social media, read news,Skype,IG etc... The bryte should have been an easy choice but I feel its not pocketable, and has a much older OS... The lenovo is cool but I think its not good enough for online reading, and then it lacks a stylus pen like its counterpart.....they both cost around 40k. Am confused!Any advice, fellow nairalanders?? Thanks. #PelumiAmbode.

General elections held yesterday Thursday 7th May, 2015 in the United Kingdom and the results were declared today Friday 8th May, 2015. The elections were credible, transparent and free giving Prime Minister David Cameron of the ruling Conservative Party a victory. The elections were devoid of hollow rhetorics, vitriolic comments, ballot snatching, blood bath, god fathers, baba party and election petition tribunals. Even a 20 - year old lady, youngest since 1667, won a seat in the parliament. Prime Minister David Cameron has since resumed office not waiting for "May 29" Hand Over date" Can this phenomenal political culture happen in our country(Nigeria)? We need a lot of Political orientation in our country,an election held amidst fear of the unknown,is not an election! #Pelumi Ambode |

I use an iphone 6 and the galaxy note 4, I can say,its all a matter of choice. Android OS is much more free and versatile. But Apple iOS on my iphone works perfectly,no lag, nothing nothing! And the security is 100percent. And iphone feels much more better when held. |

amokeme:Coool. Planning to pay CU, a visit soon! Working to put somethings in place. Perhaps I will notify you before coming. Hold on, I learnt you can't freely interact with students if you visit CU? That you have to write letters etc. |
amokeme:Maybe. What do u study? |
amokeme:Though a student of Lagos State University. I still admire the students from Covenant University, their way of Education is totally distinct from others. However, they are arrogant and snubby, I met a couple of them(tried to discuss on intellectual ground with them) but their reactions and body languages were ambivalent. |
Why are 90percent of them in south west?? |
I dedicate this THREAD,to all LASUITES across the globe. No matter their propagandas and falseholds, we remain a moutain that cannot be moved away. #ProudlyLASUITE! |
Ramires was named in the starting line-up, but complained of feeling ill before kick-off and was replaced by Juan Cuadrado. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was so concerned about Ramires that he broke off from the club’s Premier League title celebrationsto visit him in hospital. It is understood Ramires is expected to stay in hospital to undergo tests and attempt to find out the exact nature of the kidney problem that left Chelsea medics worried. Mourinho said: “He went to the hospital. He was feeling so bad we had to take him out of the dressing room. I am going to visit him now. He was feeling really bad.” Manager Jose Mourinho was so concerned about Ramires that he cut short his title celebrations to visit the Brazilian international Chelsea are worried about the health of Ramires after the midfielder was rushed to hospital before the game against Crystal Palace with a suspected kidney problem. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11580916/Chelsea-fears-over-Ramires-health-after-midfielder-rushed-to-hospital.html

4good:Is LASU,a good school? |
Why are all these media outlets screaming LASU is on strike?? LASU is not on any strike whatsoever! Have been reading with disdain and anger, some rubbish reports, that the most prestigious state university in sub-saharan Africa is on strike. As a matter of fact, I just got a call from Home that "You guys are on strike and u are not at home". Let me state clearly here and demystify the msyteries surrounding the hithertho issues in LASU. It all began on March 16, when, an alliance of all the staff unions on campus said the VC has exhausted his welcome on campus,so he should go, the staffs has a lot of grievances. Though while they were protesting for his removal, we were still being taught and libraries etc were still functioning well till when the school management asked us to go on "ELECTION RECESS". The students' union rejected this, instantaneously! Saying they must tell us when to come back. Even the staff unions rejected the recess too, claiming how will a VC, who is not on campus, declare a recess! We went for the recess but I can tell you 60percent of LASU students refused to go on any fucking recess. After the elections, LASU students, being academic scholars resumed without anybody telling us to,because we want to study,we have no bussiness at home, school is where we belong. Some lecturers began to teach us(even with the school still officially closed, the gates are opened though, closed in the sense that, the recess has not being officially called off). As a matter of fact, ASUU-LASU secretary(Dr Adeyemi) who is one of my lecturers, called us himself, and told us to resume, that he wants to teach us.He taught us for several hours.Likewise the articulate and vibrant Mr Sanni, who even taught us for over 2hours.This was the same scenerio in other departments(not all), lecturers were calling their students, fixing lecture time with them. My HOD even gave us a tasking but scholarly group presentation days ago, which we are hithertho preparing vigorously for.If he sees us today in class,he will lecture us. Dapo Thomas, who is one of the most prominent lecturers in Nigeria today,is having a class with the 300level student nows. So how are we on strike ![]() Even when lecturers are not taking us, we call in PhD/Masters students,to take us "Tutorials",because we are more than ready to learn. The students won't sit down and watch the state govt to continue treating the matter with levity,it is because of their lack of will to solve the LASU crisis that made it to escalate to the extent of hungry newspapers, radio stations etc saying all sorts of nonsense and balderdash. Nigerian media is a shame, they will all sit down in their offices, without coming to LASU,to verify what's really going on before writting nonsense, we will sue them! The students held a congress yesterday, and we had some resolutions which am not revealing publicly. LASU is not on any STRIKE! Stop spreading defamatory news, unhungry Journalists! #OlugbengaPelumi #Ambode! |
englishmart:When Alan Bate used 125 days to completed the journey around the world on a bicycle in August 2010 you didn't see anything wrong with it..... Ur fellow Nigerian fellow Nigeria trek 879km from lagos to Abuja and u feel its not possible just because it has to do with Buhari. 19 day is equivalent to 456 hours.....divide it by 879km it'll give u 1.9km per hour..... At normal pace a healthy matured human being should be able to cover 2 km in 30 minutes. That means in every 2km he has 30 minute saved for him to rest .......going by this that means 9 out of the 19 days was used by this guy panting, resting, sleeping, eating and even clubbing...... I use to cover 4 km under 15 minutes daily, jogging. Do the maths and tell me how long it'll take me from Lagos to Abuja |

iviuche4me:It is a federal university and not a state school. Go and check LASUCOM in Ikeja, that's lagos state university college of medicine, their hostel is 5 Star. |
