Bolt, the leading African ride hailing operator, is today launching an innovative Accelerator program to empower drivers on an entrepreneurial journey, in partnership with the Nest Innovation Park (‘the Nest’).
Bolt will today open applications for the Bolt Den, a €25,000 seed fund available to support business plans developed by Nigerian drivers that link to its Africa City Vision, based around sustainable transport. This will be run in close partnership with The Nest, whose network of mentors will support eligible drivers in developing their business plans before a pitch day is held in November.

Bolt will simultaneously in November launch the Bolt Academy, a tailored online training program for Nigerian drivers to promote business development skills and support future career development. The Bolt Academy online training will be provided by global leader Coursera and supported by in-person sessions with PM4Success International.
Together, these two initiatives will form the Bolt Accelerator Program, which seeks to redefine the journey of drivers as entrepreneurs and amplify economic growth prospects across Nigeria.

I had somewhat similar experience at Alimosho yesterday 15/03/2023. Thanks to guys who gave the timely address to the center yesterday.
I got there past 1, and the security man asked for appointment slip. He also asked for my account officer, I told him had none. After gaining access into their compound, another guy asked for my appointment slip, and he told me to go inside. Nobody asked for financial inducement from me.
On getting into the main hall where people are sitted, ready to be captured, I saw the same man, Mr Bello. He asked me to go and get a white file outside, and a woman who run printing business was able to do everything for me. She sold white file to me, and perforated the file with my name written on it.
I gave the file back to Mr Bello, and checked everything, after that, he told me to go and sit down. I sat for hours before I was called for capturing. I did everything without hassle. One thing I note about Mr Bello is that, He doesn't take non sense. I saw him telling his colleagues that anyone that is not scheduled for a particular day should not come for capturing. Some of his colleagues are collecting money and doing sort of things for people.
Any time people are shouting and angry, he would come and douse the tension with sweet words. The man is such a great servant. After my capturing on March 11th or so, I didn't go back there until today 12/9/2023. When I did my capturing in March, the collection date on the slip was 12/5/2023 but I didn't go, because I was out of Lagos. So, when I got there today, I was told to make photocopy of my collection slip, while the original remains with me. I was told to sit down outside under the tent, and after some minutes I was called. I got inside, thumbprint and write my details on the register. So, the collection date written on slip is the same as issue date on my passport. Thank you all for timely information. If imported cement is cheaper than cement in Nigeria despite having limestone deposit then it is better we import.
The essence of local production is reduces price and affordability.

Those cheaper importations are as a result of subsidies, support and economic of scale that those firms are enjoying from their government. US government supports it's firms with a lot of tax credit and incentives, even in China, and that is why it pays those manufacturers to sell their goods cheaply. The mistake we made in 1986 was to allow trade liberalization as advised and imposed on us by world Bank and Imf. It was that importation that killed many of our industries because they couldn't compete with foreign firms who enjoyed support from their government. |

It would be unfair not sharing my experience here, I learnt all I did on here.
My experience at Alimosho center on 14/02/2023. I got there quarter to 10, I met a guy at the gate who asked for my purpose and i inquired to know his business with what I came to to do..
Got into the hall met one Officer 👮♀️ Tunde who also asked for my purpose which I narrated to him, he then requested for 3500 to open a file as per DIY and another 5500 to push it in. I was like fun ki ni (For what) He then said I should call anybody I know that is the modus operandi. I ignored him went to meet another Officer Adeyemo and told him my purpose as per DIY, he pointed at an officer BELLO at servicecom (Seated at one corner). I told him I have an appointment to.. before I could land he requested for my documents, vetted the documents and asked me to write an application which I did, he then asked me to seat.
After about 10minutes I went to meet him he told me he’s about taking my file inside. The officer BELLO was extremely polite and professional.
I waited for about 30 minutes before I was called for capturing. After capturing I was given a paper with my name and sum numbers.
Before leaving the hall I tracked my application, passport production in progress.
I didn’t spend a dime till I left about 12noon.
Mine is RENEWAL… Brother.... Longest time. Have you gotten your passport? |

Go to Alimosho immigration office if you want ur passport to be out less than 2 months,I did my capturing April 27th,my collection date was June 26th,I picked it up today....it has been ready since,I just gave them extra time to pick it up Nii... I captured in March at Alimosho, and my collection date is 12/5/2023. Up till now, I haven't gone there. My tracker is still showing production in progress. I don't if someone can help me to check my passport is ready. Thanks. |

I wish him all the best. Just like what my lecturer said, I hope that appointment is not "shut up" come sit with us. If you have been following Taiwo for years, you would know he has always been polemical of govt fiscal policy, even to the last vehicle ownership due that BAT introduced. Who would now defend us now after he has resigned? Definitely he cannot critized any bad fiscal policy coming out this government again. The vehicle ownership he criticized might still stand, and there is nothing he would do. All the best to him once again. |
