ChiefAzubuike: The Nigerian military is a huge joke. Other countries are displaying nukes, raptors , B 29, etc our very own soldiers are displaying muscles. I was at Jalalabad, Afghanistan for a conference some years back, I was so impressed with what I saw. Well equipped and well trained Afghan soldiers dedicated to tackle the Taliban. Immediately, I reminisced about my home country Nigeria as I shook my head vigorously is disgust. All our soldiers know is to flex muscles with their rusty Kalashnikov's that can't even fire a round without jamming. Lease tell those people say na bullets, explosives and TNT dey fight war no be muscles. I know you need to be fit for close range combats but our soldiers have taken it to a whole new level. And when there's nobody to fight, they look for the nearest civilian to test their strength. Lets assume the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Buratai enlists for the US army today, I bet he won't even be worthy of a sergeant rank. I know you might be reading this sir but if you want to find me , PM me let me tell you where to meet me. You really want to meet Burutai?

playboy19: The most painful part about stories like this is that, Duke is 56/years old now, in 1993 he was 31, so he was already working in a presidential cabinet at 31 and by 1999 at 37 he became a governor. How many of us can write or tell such story about ourselves today? Painful. Truly painful.
Though I'm grateful for my position, but I look around and still see a lot 30+ not knowing where to start in life. It hurts me to the core. Sometimes I wish I can help more than I currently do. Nigeria which way? Is this how your best talents will be wasting away? My brother I'm scared of joining that group o, I'm 26 very productive and currently serving my father's land. If there is any way u can help Mr I will be most appreciative, I'm a graduate of Economics and I believe there is nothing I can't do. For skills, I write and into graphics and website design though at d beginners level. I'm really scared, 4 years time, I will be 30 and I can't see any headway. |

Amhappy: A friend of my DH struggled for years. I even felt inconvenienced at a point because he was our house visitor and even brought his matter here on nairaland. Now after many years of no job, failed business and his family refusing to assist him financially to restart his business,a small girl he met 2years ago has stabilized him with the money she gets from her rich family. So tomorrow if he buys her a car, someone somewhere who knows nothing about their story will be saying stuff like this? This talk is a slap to women like us who hustle with their partners and encourage younger ladies to do same. Don't feel bad my dear, there are still good guys out there. I've always maintained and still maintain that 80% of people on this forum are psychos. Where they get their philosophy about life still baffles me. I repeat they are psychos who are filled with hate, even d devil acknowledged that Job was faithful and loyal, these guys are worse than d devil. |

Amhappy: Jealousy and envy everywhere. Appreciating people who stood by you is now evil. May God keep away people like this from me and my generation. Only sadists think this way. If you don't want to appreciate yours please leave others who want to appreciate theirs. And is not as if the ladies go on bugging them to appreciate them, it was freewill. No wonder a lot of people are reluctant to assist or be loyal these days. Oh you are there only because you had no other option. Who said? And when did standing by someone through thick and thin mean sex. Does relationships not exist without sex. Is premarital sex not a sin again? Is it now something to reward? My dear don't mind all these sadist, hate has filled their hearts. The Bible itself encourages loyalty in d book of Proverbs, it described it as a very rare thing. The corporate world also encourages loyalty, these guys are deluded, unhappy and are kill joy. I also pray not to meet anyone like them. Like the witch told john snow in GoT, "they know nothing" |

Hello guys, long time. I guess everyone is doing fine. So having listened to everyone's advice, I decided to stay put. I will be completing my service year with them. On the school, I managed to squeeze out time to teach them Economics and Accounting, they started their exams today. I also got a booking for a home lesson for next month, so I guess its a win-win situation. I figured out that its better I stay back especially as I have started some personal humanitarian projects to help the community especially with the IDPs in Jos (if you are interested in helping these people you can contact me, together with some corps members we will be visiting the camp next week Friday God willing) so a little touch of experience and learning the robes with my NGO won't be bad. I'm motivated like never before to serve my country and impact my community, once again thank you all for your contributions they were helpful. |

NYSC › Corps Members United For The Idps by CsRockefeller(op): 6:53am On Jul 04, 2018 |
Due to the recent crisis in Plateau state, a group of concerned Corps Members have come together to support the IDPs in zawan, Jos South LGA. However, our contribution is little as regards the population and the needs of the people, hence, we decided to reach out to more persons.
I have started a campaign on Twitter with the Hashtag #IDPsInJos and have taken the campaign to Facebook also.
We plan to visit the IDPs camp this Saturday, but if they don't pay alawee we may postpone it till next week as many Corps members are broke.
Nigerians are good people, we were once ranked number one on the list of giving arms and supporting people, what I'm saying is as many, no matter your location are willing to help these people will be welcome. I wanted to post a video a neighbor took on Sunday showing how women and children were crying due to loosing one or more loved ones, but to my surprise he told me to pay (what a wicked world) can't believe some people will want to profit out of people's misfortune.
If you are in Jos, your help is highly needed, Psychologist and Counsellors especially to provide trauma support, but more important, they need financial and material support.
Like Mother Theresa once said, we all may not be able to do great things, but we can all do small things with great love, God bless you as you help his children.
NB: we have got 6 people already, and some peeps on Twitter are showing/pledging to help. My handle on Twitter is Mbachu92.
Mods, help push to front page. Çc: Yokiti

Built2last: Africa is moving forward. If our leaders like let them continue mocking us Sir thank you for this. For a while I've been thinking of leaving Nigeria to settle down and invest in Rwanda, so i thought of opening a secondary school in Kigali but 2 years ago i heard on radio that Rwanda's public education system is one of the best in Africa and has so, driven d private guys out if biz. I'm still interested in doing business there as an investor, though I'm still in Plateau doing my Nysc I'm hoping to raise funds to go on this journey. I will appreciate any advice regards where might be good to invest among all sectors in Rwanda. Its quite remarkable to see how this country has gone after d 1993 war. |
